there was no breakfast available as it was not up and running . the location was good opposite the sea and pier. we liked the comfortable bed and the tasteful decorated room. the carpets were nice new and clean. room service was good

the man on reception was extremely helpful and polite but there was not a receptionist on the desk at all times. the light in the bedroom did not work. it would have been nice to have a restaurant and a lounge to have a drink

Location is fantastic, sea view & pier view in one go! Staff couldn’t be warmer, so welcoming and accommodating. Price is fair for location and breakfast (I stayed in a single room, cosy for the winter… it is perfect). Breakfast was great and served in a beautiful room. Bar is cosy, with some extra tables to admire the view. Bed was very comfy and good quality linen.

Grand decor at the ground floor could extend to the rooms, especially bathroom (single room, more specifically, needs a refresh). They’re on the right track redecorating it, with a great potential to look stunning, no matter the size of the room.

I really like the breakfast, which was superb - individually prepared cooked breakfast, and I eventually discovered I could have requested the degree of cookedness of the scrambled egg - I will do that next time!

The floor of my room was uneven, inevitable in a building of that age, and although he bed was horizontal, which was good , the table with tea-making kit was sloping towards me, so the tea was also sloping, which makes some people like me feel a bit giddy. I would be better to put something under the front legs of the table to make it horizontal

The room was well decorated, and i was pleasantly surprised for the for the price I've paid for it. The bed was comfortable, e the view of the pier was quite entertaining. I've stayed in many other hotels in the area, but none had a small fridge and a hairdrier like the Pier.

It was a sunny day and the room was very hot, had double glazing and could only be slightly opened. However, there was a fan in the room.

The staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. Our room had a beautiful sea view and had a very short walk into town centre. Breakfast was lovely and very filling.

I asked the receptionist if they could please turn the heating down in our room as it was overly warm ( I couldn't find a way to turn it down myself), she did advise that we could do this ourselves at the bottom of the radiators but we could not find a dial or knob to change the setting; it looked like the standard dial/knob had been removed and the metal was too hot to try and change by hand.

Breakfast was nice to have included with the stay, food was tasty, tables were well set and staff very friendly. Emerald bar staff also lovely, gave us jugs of water to take up to room rather than charging us for bottles, was very appreciated. Rooms were also nicely cleaned upon return to hotel.

Conditioner for showers would have been nice, only shampoo provided. Also, not really the hotels fault but trying to cross the road in front of the hotel is a nightmare. There’s no pedestrian crossings and it’s rather dangerous.

The Pier Hotel is situated at an extremely premium location! It was easy to walk to the pier, and also a very straightforward walk to Holywell, where the hike to Birling Gap starts. The bus stop from which you take the bus to Seven Sisters National Park is just opposite the hotel, and a short 1-minute walk away. I did the Holywell to Birling Gap and Seven Sisters hike on both days that I was in Eastbourne for, and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The room I stayed in was also comfortable and clean. Breakfast at the hotel was nice and the staff at reception were helpful and welcoming. I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel if you are visiting Eastbourne!

Bathroom is dated but clean.

Excellent location opposite the pier. Room was clean and comfortable, recently decorated, sea view. A fridge was provided in the room which great in the hot weather.

There was nowhere to hang clothes apart from a hanger on the back of the bathroom door (but I would not have swapped the fridge for a wardrobe!) The front doors were locked at 8 pm and access after that was by key fob with a phone number if any problem. It probably won’t bother most people but as an elderly female solo traveller I prefer somewhere I can just walk in until 9pm or so.

Amazing location overlooking the sea and the pier. A very helpful and friendly receptionist. I booked the room for my nephew at very short notice late evening, and we arrived straightaway. The gentleman at reception still did not receive the confirmation of our booking, but still accommodated my nephew straightaway and even upgraded his room. We very grateful. The breakfast was fantastic. Thank you so much for everything.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were good and the bed was comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and the cleaner was super helpful and kept me supplied with a good amount of teabags and milk.

The first morning at breakfast there was no member of staff to explain how the breakfast system worked. I just felt a little uncomfortable. They were just undermanned though and had a big party in.
