Amazing place to stay. Warm, cosy, clean, friendly and professional. It was a pleasure to stay in such an outstanding place. We have traveled the world and stayed in many hotels and resorts from Whitby to Thailand and Bognor to Muscat! And this place has to be one of our favorites. What makes it special is that very rare thing.. they exceeded every expectation. From the perfectly warm an cosy room with free gin! The reading room with free Whisky... a nice 10 year old Glenmorange. To the fantastic food. especially that epic sausage sarnie! 😋 Even the bar atmosphere and drink selection was beyond expectations. We cannot praise the staff enough, great team, always busy, friendly and attentive. Well done, well done, well done! We live in Manila and will be back!

Lovely and clean, food and service was great, quick check in. Bar, restaurant and front of house staff very helpful and cheerful.

Cold water when we went to bed in the evening and again in the morning when we tried to bath/shower. Spoke to reception and thermostat had been turned down at their point of access. They did put it back up but didn’t know how long it would take for water to be hot. Unfortunately we did have to wash in cold water before check out. Not a huge problem but was an inconvenience

The Bel and Dragon is a most attractive and comfortable hostelry. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay there on 23 December. It was warm and welcoming and tastefully decorated for the festive season. We had an excellent dinner there that evening and an equally excellent breakfast the next morning. A big thank you to the chefs. The food was superb. After our stay, I told my daughter who lives close by in Haslemere, that I could highly recommend she suggest The Bel and Dragon to any of her friends requiring accommodation on visits to the area.

We stayed in the cottage in the car park. Whilst I understand it is impossible to keep a carpet clean, it is a little off-putting to be met by dirty flooring. A wooden, washable staircase would be preferable. I think here in the UK, we need to abandon the obsession with fitted carpets and adopt the habit of our European cousins of having flooring that can be more easily cleaned.

Everything was truly delightful: the atmosphere, the room, the food, and the staff. I came by myself to ‘retreat’ for a few days and couldn’t have felt more at home. Every detail has been so well-thought out - now, a few weeks after my stay, I’m finding myself dreaming of being back there, sitting in cosy corners, surrounded by books, with the friendliest staff making it such a relaxing place to be. I’m plotting my next visit….

The room was was advertised as a petite room and was small but comfortable with an excellent shower. The breakfast menu was excellent and was prepared and cooked from scratch and there was in addition a good range of cereals and fruit. The staff were friendly and helpful. I have stayed at this hotel before and never been disappointed. The hotel is a really pleasant change from the usual corporate style seen in so many these days

Reception lady when we checked in was very friendly and trying to help us. Bar staff extremely helpful and friendly, food very good in the bar and also breakfast. Location great, in front sculpture park and not far for Frensham ponds. Would def stay again.

Our room wasn’t ready when we got there and our group was meant to be split to the outside cottage. We were given a different room and they were able to move my friend to inside room (changing from twin bed to double bed) so they solved the issue but something it should be well stated when booking that your group may be slightly far (I mean it’s still same hotel but I was travelling with 2 small kids and raining on that day so I needed extra help from my friend so basically helpful to know twin rooms are outside cottage or something like that) The room was very comfortable but cleaning could improve, I found several dust spots both in the room and in bathroom. I guess something to pass on to cleaning person to improve.

breakfast was very good, staff were very friendly. The restaurant downstairs was really good as well. We did have friends who were staying who said their room was a little small but ours was a brilliant size! (we were room "Price"). Its a lovely part of the world and the hardest bits leaving.

the bar shuts very early as the staff leave and you have a key to let yourself in. Shame we couldnt have had a couple of late night drinks when we got back.

Loved this hotel! The room we had was described as a Small Double and I was a bit worried that it might be really small but it was lovely and plenty big enough for us. The shower room was very spacious. I enjoyed having the fancy coffee sachets and little chocolates in the room as well as the sloe gin! We had both breakfast and dinner and both were exceptional. The dining area is cosy and I like that you can see into the kitchen. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. All in all, a fabulous stay in every way. We will be back.

Rooms were exceptional in style, facilities and cleanliness. The stag were also outstanding, taking the time to show me to my room even though I’m a different building. Then the same person showed me to my dinner table and even got my drinks. This made it extremely personal and some of the best service I’ve ever had

Lovely warm welcome on our arrival, my little Frenchie was made especially welcome and was spoilt by everyone he met.. They even have a special dog station with lots of treats and fresh water.. lovely room, it was a dog friendly room but still very clean, comfy beds & a wonderful bathroom with free standing bath. Yummy breakfast with a great choice for everyone, freshly cooked to order & Piggins even got a couple of sausages! Literally opposite The Sculpture Park which is a fantastic way to spend the day.. The evening menu was outstanding and highly recommended the Prawns 😛 A lovely mini break away
