The staff were utterly amazing & so helpful. Very friendly and made my stay fantastic. Will definitely be back. The food was phenomenonal and definitely worth the money.

The room I stayed in, Room 10, was extremely hot, even with the window open and the fan on. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, and the beam over the bath is extremely close to the shower, and as a result, I hit my head a few times; maybe a stand alone shower cubicle rather than a shower over a bath would be better? There were also signs of significant water damage to the ceiling over the bath and to the skirting board. There was a water leak that came down through the ceilings and into the bar area over a table. In the bar area and parts of the seated area at the front as you walk in, it shows signs of significant water damage, too......maybe something needs to be done before it gets worse and does more damage?

Bar and food prices were excellent as was the quality of the food. Bar area was very hospitable and the staff were superb. Shower had a decent pressure and there was plenty of hot water. Car park was relatively small, but luckily I got a spot.

Breakfast was not served until 08:00hrs with my friend having to leave without breakfast due to work commitments. Key to the rear entrance was difficult to remove for a fellow guest as she re-entered from the garden. Extractor fan not working in the bathroom making it very hot and humid following a shower.

A fab old pub with loads of quirks and creaks in a stunning village. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds comfortable which meant the few bumps and marks didn't seem important. Bonus... 15 easy minutes to Longleat

Requested quiet room but we had fire door outside ours meaning constant pausing and opening (lots of creaking) and a stair case in our room - again lots of creaking! Attic smaller but alot quieter. Bathroom rather tired. Toilet seat didn't fit so lid wouldn't stay up. Shower curtain didn't work brilliantly so floor got wet :-( Maybe shower screens?? Saying that shower (over bath) hot and enjoyable. Just shame bathroom let it all down :-(

Food was excellent at breakfast & dinner. Staff were wonderful, helpful & cheerful at all times. The room we had was a little tired but the beds were very comfortable & the cleaning & re filling of teas, coffees, milk etc etc were very good.

Nothing really, other than that the room needed updating a little & as we were in the attic, it was hard work climbing 2 flights of stairs with luggage so would not be any use to someone less able! However to be fair, the staff did offer to help!

Staff went out of thier way in every aspect to allow you to enjoy your stay. They preempted your requirements , listened and were understanding. They really catered for your every need as well as being so friendly even at busy times. Breckfast was a highlight. They did everything they could and more, working tirelessly with the facilities and circumstances they had.

The place is very dated and warn down internally.Staff do their upmost and make up for the facilities but it doesn't get away from the room and environment needing a desperate refresh. Eg carpets old and 'minging', very old and uncomfortable pull out bed which my children slept on and ended up in with us. Double bed head board literally had head shaped marks when the paint had been warn away! Very very dated with already the cheapest of furnishings tiles and upkeep.

Very accommodating staff; I brought a mountain bike with me. They provided me with somewhere safe to store it so I didn't need to carry it up the stairs every night :)

The WIFI was not up to the task unfortunately :( The reception in the area is poor (I'm on Talkmobile so perhaps it was my network provider!) so I became reliant on the WIFI. For one reason or another it blocks videocalls, so I couldn't videocall home which was sad. The internet cut out after 5 - 10 minutes so you have to go back to the homepage and log back in. I was not able to do any work on my laptop during my stay.

All staff were amazing and very attentive. Great selection of food and drink which were needed after a cold day.

The rooms could do with a freshening up. Whilst the building is old and many original features have rightly been kept, there were numerous parts in the room where paint was pealing off and the decor faded. Similarly the headboard was flaking leaving the pillows covered in black bits. An upgrade in the rooms would be great to reflect the standards of the bar and restaurant areas.

The staff were good, the evening meal and breakfast was fantastic. Nice little beer garden at the rear. I liked that there were two doors to go through into the bedroom, it cut out noise from the bar.

Although there was a fan provided and I had the windows wide open, the room was very hot and uncomfortable during the night. The bathroom is a little tired and could do with a freshen up.

Lovely quiet location. Great pub with great food! The evening menu and the included breakfast were amazing! Our room was very nice, with traditional decor and furniture which was lovely. Everything was clean. Staff were very helpful, kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely go back. We used it as a base for Longleat Safari Park and we're glad we did. Thank you!

No issues at all.

Food, both breakfast and dinner was excellent. We had planned on only eating the first night of our stay but it was so nice we ate both nights.

Bathroom in Room 8 could do with a freshen up,i.e rusty shave mirror, mirror light not working, sink plug broken, toilet seat loose.General paintwork is in need of a freshen up as well.Rusty radiators are not a nice look either..... Lots of stairs to get to room 8 which is a twin room up in the roof.
