I had a second floor room (out of three floors). It is a small hotel with 8 rooms. There is not lobby, it is the same place with the bar/cafe in front of the building. However this is not a problem at all. Room was warm, very clean, had some space for your personal belongings. Had a desk, safe. etc. Offered a keg and coffee/tea option in the room along with some nice cookies! Room was cleaned every day. Had a bottle available filled with tap water (water in Scotland is very good). Location is very good. Close to the central bus station and of course city centre. Wifi was good Breakfast was excellent. I think it is worth include it in the booking. With that you have a small "buffet" with flakes and milk options, yogurt, fresh fruits, some spreads (honey, jams), juice and very very nice croissants. AND a choice of one dish from breakfast menu around eight options of which I picked usually something with salmon and eggs. Everything very tasty, very good quality. Dinner options were very very good. Their chef is good. I only missed a chocolate desert. By the way hotel guests... Have 20% off of their order (which was very welcome) and free entry to the National Piping centre which is attached (and which I did not use) Staff was very friendly and not pretentious. Perfect! And do not forget! With checking you taste a bit of Whiskey. They are good. And the one I taste, it was the one I bought in the airport (And I am not an whiskey guy but that one was very smooth and fruity (glenomorangie 10 if anyone interested)

Everything was almost perfect. I would maybe preferred other kind of mattresses and/or pillow. Was the mattress too soft? The pillow too hard? Something over there did not work for me.

Friendly, available staff who gave us all the info we asked for and extra interesting bits we wouldn't have thought of asking for. Very clear it's not 24 hour reception, but that was no bother as there is plenty of info provided around the hotel. Great breakfast and service.

This was largely because I missed the detail on the info outside, so I cant say the info wasnt provided - I booked for dinner at 7pm, but staff didnt point out that set meal menu ends at 6.45 - frustrating when we could have been there just that bit earlier. BUT never mind because when I explained it was the risotto (not on al la Carte menu) I was after the chef made it for me anyway.

The breakfast on both days was very good. We also had dinner there one night and that was fine as well. We did have some trouble closing the window and had to ask for help, which came quickly, however it would have been more helpful if there had been a notice explaining how to close the window. All the staff were polite and helpful. The room was clean though some things were a bit shabby for example the laminate on the bath and the bedside table was peeling.

Some items of furniture were a bit shabby however as the room price was reasonable it wasn't a problem. We ran out of tea bags quite quickly and had to ask for more.

The hotel was great and we especially loved the location an easy walk to the train station, food, and shopping. The room was fairly large with a comfortable king sized bed, a wardrobe, chair, desk with chair and coffee/tea service. A nice en suite bathroom with lovely shower. The best part was the friendly staff and the great breakfast service which we had with our room rate. It was served down in the pub where you could order anything off the menu or continental. They would also reserve a table for you for dinner if you wanted it. We also enjoyed the small bagpipe museum next door where the staff answered all our questions about piping.

Really didn’t have any problems. Seriously only thing I can think of was the seriously creaky floor in our room. Luckily no one was under us.

Super friendly and attentive staff. Amazing vegetarian full Scottish breakfast!!!! Good coffee too. Good size double bedroom and loved the waterfall shower. Nice to have option of the different shower directions as well. Had a lovely, courtesy dram of whiskey on my arrival! They also stored my luggage for the day, free of charge. Very helpful. Great, central location. Would book again.

Didn't really prove to be a problem on my stay but you can hear people in the corridor quite easily. So not the quietest. Thankfully the guests booked in when I stayed seemed to go to bed, not late.

Room was nice, comfortable, good temperature. nice TV, enough power sockets. nice tray breakfast. oats, cereals, milk, breakfast bar, grapes, apple. spacious room. great location to the city. staff recommended restaurant across the road, with great Scottish food loved the wee dram of whisky on arrival

too late for dinner, fully booked, but team did recommend a restaurant across the road. breakfast was late too, 8am, had a 7am meeting, but they did provide a breakfast tray. room a little tired, paint work needs doing, especially in bathroom, room 2. no tea or coffee facilities

This was my third stay at the hotel. On each occasion I have stayed whilst my son attended a piping workshop. The hotel has been an excellent base to work from during the day and explore Glasgow at night. The room is perfectly comfortable, the breakfasts are amazing, I’ve. Not tried dinner there yet but it does look of equal quality. It’s really the staff that make it such a great place to stay though. From the dram upon arrival to the housekeeper who was so friendly and went out of her way to make sure my stay was comfortable, it is a lovely place to be for a break in Glasgow.

It goes without saying but it’s not a big chain hotel, there are a couple of bits and bobs that could be updated, but the character and atmosphere more than makes up for any imperfections.

The location is very good, close to the bus and train stations in the centre of Glasgow. Check in was easy, the room was comfortable with a big double bed and good warmth from the radiators, and an ensuite bathroom with some good quality toiletries. The breakfast the following morning was exceptional..a selection of cereals and pastries, and then a choice from their full hot breakfast menu, prepared to order. It was superb! The staff were really helpful and friendly.

The floorboards in my room were a wee bit creaky.

Amazing stay. All the staff were excellent and attentive. Special thanks to Sam for being such a gent and helping me with my suitcases when I arrived. The room and bathroom were clean. Great toiletries and other nice touches like the bottled water. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows are heavenly (I travel are lot and these are the best ever). The breakfast was amazing too. For a tired traveller after a long journey this was just the perfect stay to rest and refresh. Thank you .

The hotel was clean and tidy. A fresh bottle of water and glasses were provided. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The staff were fantastic, as was the breakfast. So much choice. Even managed to take my pancakes home because I couldn't finish them.

The only thing I would have liked was a kettle in the room. You could buy this from downstairs but the cafe closed. We were out at a show and had to buy some to take back but it was cold before we arrived back at the hotel.
