This hotel is absolutely value for money: a little jewellery in the heart of Glasgow! Excellent location, friendly staff and the most comfortable bed I have ever tried! The room is nice and clean, and they have prepared a little “welcome pack” as well. It was also nice that the housekeeping staff has put my beers in the window to keep them cold. :)

Everything was perfect, but firstly it was a bit difficult to find the hotel as it is situated on the 6th floor, but do not worry just follow Google Maps and you will find it. :)

This hotel is perfectly located right next to Glasgow central station. You'd think that with being so central it would be loud but it's not; located on the 6th floor, the hotel is relaxed and chill - you would have no idea you're literally overlooking the glass roof of the station (pretty awesome as well!). When you arrive the staff are welcoming and friendly, easily booking you in with rooms ready and all decent sizes. The room is clean with it's own bathroom , comfy beds and bottled water - and smarties! - free of charge as a little welcoming gift. Card access to rooms is easy and desks are in all rooms which is great for me as I am a travelling remote worker. There is breakfast and supper for an extra charge which I didn't book but smelt amazing as well as a lounge area where there is 24 hour tea and coffee facilities to self serve - lovely touch. Something that made this place homely and unique was the ice cream self serve and homemade cakes table, both of which seemed to be always fully stocked and delicious! My cake intake tripled during my 2 day stay but I have no regrets! Overall, a wonderful stay with lots of quirky homey touches that means I would highly recommend and be coming back!

Sometimes hard to find plugs in the room or not near the desk where I needed it BUT such a minor thing and didn't impact my stay whatsoever!

This is a fabulously, homely, scandi facility with a Scottish twist. It is exceptionally, centrally located but the fact that it is located six floors up means that it is quiet. The sitting room facility is so good - especially when meeting up with people traveling a distance. LOVED the artwork. Every room is slightly different and some are quite quirky in layout which adds to the charm. The bedding is excellent. The best thing however is the staff - which can make or break your stay - they were so, so helpful and cheerfully answered (even inane) questions and provided helpful, local advice!

Nothing.

Lovely helpful friendly staff. Amazing selection of home made cakes and ice cream to help your self to! Very nice original art on the walls (not the usual hotel stylised commercial art) very good powerful shower. A truly unique, cosy, wonderful place less than a minutes walk from the train station.

There’s a kettle, cups, teabags and a cafetière in each room, but no milk or coffee in the room. There is a lovely welcoming communal space with everything you’d need to make tea or coffee, but I’d have preferred it if I didn’t have to leave my room if I fancied coffee or milk in my tea.

Grasshopper is absolutely fab. The designers have managed to create a place that doesn't feel like your standard budget hotel. We chose it for ease of access from station with heavy bags, as it's literally in the doorstep of central station. Being right in the thick of it, we thought it might be a little noisy but it is so quiet we could hear a pin drop. The perfect place to soak up Glasgow. I loved the sense of history in the building, super comfy bed, really good shower, friendly engaged staff and the views from the windows across the rooftops (very Blue Nile) plus the real coffee and cup cakes of course!

Generally we loved everything but if I had to think of something, the room was a little small for us and our 4 large suitcases, as we had travelled from Australia. That wouldn't stop me from booking again through.

Great location for central station. Room warm, spotless, comfortable bed with good quality bedding. Added touch of free cake. Ice-cream, tea and coffee. Bottled water, teabags provided in room. Toiletries hairdryer supplied. Good choice of TV channels.

On arrival at doorway on Union street, pressed intercom to speak to staff and gain entry. No answer.. Had to wait on the street with luggage untill a young man came out so we could get into lift area. This should not happen. Teatray in room only had tea and sugar. Should also provide coffee and uth milk.

The hotel is located on the 6th floor, with keypad and keycard access, which provided a strong sense of security throughout my stay. The hotel layout itself is intimate, comfortable and well-lit, the interior design was lovely. The room itself had a very cozy and homey feel to it, and the facilities in my room were clean and comfortable, I really appreciated the ceiling fan to help regulate the temperature during the time I went. Noise insulation in the hotel was also quite good, the only noise you could really hear was in the hallway, and not from other people's rooms, which made for a really peaceful sleep. The complimentary cupcakes and baked goods laid out in front definitely tasted homemade and was delicious, and was a really nice and thoughtful touch by the ones running the hotel.

The kitchen area is quite small, and if the hotel is well-booked and everyone chose to have breakfast at the same time, it can get pretty cramped fast, which can make it difficult to walk around to get food. The breakfast provisions itself were good though, the eating area was just rather small and could use more staggered timing for guests.

What a lovely surprise! Up on the top floor of an old Industrial-age office building is this charming hotel. The location is terrific, especially if you arrive by train, and the little extras, like the tea and coffee and comfortable sitting room for hotel guests made it feel rather exclusive and quite special.

Glasgow is noisy. It's a busy city and that's part of what makes it fun, but it also means that if you have the windows open at all, you will hear lots of street noise. And the party goes all night. Next time I will request a room looking over the train station at the back, rather than the street.

This is a well renovated space that takes up a floor. The rooms are small and well-laid out. We needed a place by the train station for an early departure and this fit the bill. The woman at the desk was quite friendly and helpful to boot. We kept the window open and the fan on and the room was a comfortable temperature. Also there’s a fantastic pasta place, Sugo, a block over.

I do wish the door code was communicated before getting to the door. It’s also not difficult to press the button to call up but a heads up would have helped. If we needed accommodation for longer than a night or two or for more than two people, this may not have been the best choice.

This hotel was a great find. The location is very central and the room was really quiet with good facilities. The shower was great and the WiFi worked really well. The shared lounge was a welcome facility with tea/coffee, cake and ice cream provided free of charge. The hotel was a little quirky and was a non corporate more boutique style hotel which I really like. It was also spotlessly clean.

The only slight downside was the mattress on the bed. It was Ok but most good hotels have pocket sprung or memory foam mattresses nowadays. Seems a shame to skimp on mattress quality.
