Beautifully kept, and set on the edge of Guisborough in lovely countryside. Loved the terrace for drinks with a view and the comfy salon for relaxing indoors. Huge and super comfy bed; fluffy white towels and Molton Brown toiletries. There was a hairdryer and iron. The sense of a luxury stay.

Whilst the breakfast was delicious and provided everything you could hope to eat in the morning, service was overwhelmed on both mornings with waits of 30-40 mins for the hot order. On the 2nd day, after a 40- minute wait, the wrong order turned up for 3 of us. Staff were lovely but clearly there is a problem (there were wedding parties on both days but breakfast numbers were obviously known in advance). A couple of other things missing that I would have expected in a 4* hotel: a fridge in the room and air conditioning (it was 28 degrees that day - Housekeeping did bring a fan but the whole place was distressingly hot inside) and table service on the drinks terrace. I loved the hotel but the tedious breakfast service spoilt it a bit.

Beautiful old building, nice spa facilities, lovely staff particularly the cleaners, masseuse and receptionists.

I feel that the conservatory lacked an opportunity for real plants and could be used to elevate the Afternoon Tea experience if it did so. Waiting prior to a booked meal felt odd, we also had to wait for coffee for over 45 mins after dessert and chase this down despite ordering same time as we ordered dessert on Sunday so our friends missed this and had to leave. Waiting staff too busy chatting at other tables to notice (Sunday)

Everything - exceptional service by friendly staff. We arrived in a blizzard and were met by a friendly receptionist and a hall porter offering to bring in our bags. Our room was spacious and comfortable but, given the temperature outside, rather cool. This was no problem - the staff sorted out an electric heater in addition to the central heating, and provided a spare room card to keep the power on while we were out of the room having dinner (and all of the following day). We ate in Chaloner's Restaurant on the first evening and in the De Brus bar on the second. Food and wine were both extremely good. Gisborough Hall isn't cheap but well worth staying for a special occasion.

Nothing.

Reception was efficient and staff were great. Room was very nice, and well presented, in the main. There were a few minor flaws but they did not get in the way.

The pluming in the ensuite was very noisy, pipe work gurgled for a period after use. There were several hairs on the fresh bed linen, on inspection, easily removed but standard not up to expectation. Sign posting in the hotel is out of date, for example the Library Bar no longer exists. Navigating across the hotel could have been more user friendly, up stairs cross several corridors and then down stairs, yes there are lifts but quite a trek for some less able people. At breakfast, received swiftly by the concierge and led to our table, order taken for tea and coffee. Took a long while for these to arrive and our order to be taken, frustratingly others who had arrived after us were served breakfast before our order was taken. This was irksome.

I loved Lord Guisborough. He absolutely made my stay and was just absolutely fabulous. Best piano player ever. We used the spa and the ladies were wonderful. The operational manger in the restaurant was exceptionally knowledgable and apart from forgetting my petit fours (!) he can be forgiven for just being a wonderful human. Lovely stay for our 18 wedding anniversary and would recommend to all.

Maybe a touch expensive for the room

Arriving at this grand hotel set in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, you are instantly blown away on the approach along the gravel driveway. The staff in the reception are beyond helpful and the settings of the public areas are perfect offering a Stately, yet cozy atmosphere. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds, tea and coffee supplies and large ensure bathrooms with bath and shower. Room service is also available as is ice and fresh milk in the room. You can also read Lonnie newspapers and magazines when you use the WiFi. Lots to do in the surrounding area, or a perfect hotel to stay and relax in and perhaps make use of the spa facilities if you want an extra treat. Can highly recomend! Do be aware, and to be expected, in the main restaurant trainers and sportswear is not allowed, so pack accordingly. Your dogs can also stay for £15 extra per night (on current prices at least!)

Loved it all! The superb Receptionist Sally was the first to greet us and set the tone for the whole stay with all staff being super helpful and friendly, they genuinely made it seem nothing was too much trouble. The Dinner included rate was excellent value for the quality of ingredients and the thought and care put into designing the menu. I didn't catch the name of the lovely lady who gave me a massage (sorry) but I would definitely recommend a trip to the Revival Zone.

Nothing. If I was being highly picky we'd have liked a fridge in the room but it wouldn't stop me from staying here again.

It is such a joy when a hotel exceeds your expectations. My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We booked a featured room, dinner bed and breakfast. The room was wonderful. Very comfortable four poster bed, huge windows, very nice bathroom, great shower, second loo. Dinner was very good, breakfast terrific. But what really made the difference was the exceptional staff. They had been very busy with a big group that Sunday, but everyone was charming, smiling and helpful.

We were there for two nights and had dinner once in the bar. Dinner was alright, nothing special but okay. Breakfast was great. It was nice to have a drink on the terrace and there are two beautiful rooms where you can sit and have a drink, read or play games. We had a room in the Woodland wing. Those rooms are a bit simpler than the rooms in the Old Hall, but still nice, clean rooms.
