Beautiful inside & out

I was there with my daughter for the medical awards. All the staff were friendly but I did feel that one kept ignoring us! The lady in the evening in the bar/grill area went to every table expect ours. I had to go the bar for menus & drinks, which isn’t a problem but when you’re waiting and see other guests given menus, even ones without tables booked, I thought it a bit off. The manager behind the bar immediately sent someone over to order our food & drinks. I just felt that she thought we weren’t good enough to be in there, it was very rude of her not to acknowledge us and made us feel like we shouldn’t of been in there.

The grounds, the hotel and the history of it ,the warmth and friendly staff very accommodating, the food was great and loved the appertisers. Very relaxing .loved the room and bed was very comfortable .everything about it was great and the views were smashing we would definitely come again.

It's not a issue and it didn't spoil our holiday but we thought having to get up early for our breakfast because of the time scale ,maybe if breakfast stop serving at 11.may give us old people time to get up . It's them cosy beds keeping us in .

The location was easy to find, spectacular views, the room was spacious , comfortable and clean. We had little or no noise disturbance from e ither guests or road traffic. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable . Food and drinks exceptional.

There was nothing I didnt like . However an observation was in the dining room there were cobwebs high up , and on the screen between the seating and the breakfast area , there were splatter marks which looked unsightly.

I loved the whole thing about gisborough Hall

I tried to get rooms closer to my elderly parents and even though we were on the same corridor they were 120 and we were 115. Dad with his alzheimers is known to wander in the night so would have heard his door closing if been next door. The checkout price was alot more than it should have been we had been charged double for breakfast. My daughter and I had drinks in the lounge at night and I paid for them on my card but they too had been charged to the final bill

It’s wonderful how the history of the property is still alive and respected. The building is so well maintained and you feel like you have stepped back in time. All the staff went the extra mile to ensure our stay was the best. The rooms were spacious and the property was well heated too.

The only downside was there was a function on, the music was quite loud and we could still hear it in our room however it was muffled enough that you could go to sleep.

I’ve stayed here several times over the last 20 or so years and always enjoy the hotel, the restaurant rooms and area. Rooms are a good size, comfortable beds and sitting area in the bedroom. Staff are very helpful and competent too. The lounge and social areas are attractive with great decor and furnishings. Plenty of parking too. We had introduced my daughter and her husband for a birthday treat and they were equally impressed with the food and the hotel. As usual the breakfast was good but after a good evening meal we weren’t very hungry!! The dog was given a bowl and a few treats- a very nice gesture!

It took a while to get drinks - tea and coffee for breakfast but it was rather busy. The kettle in the bedroom didn’t work too well but I reported this so hopefully it will be replaced.

Beautifully kept, and set on the edge of Guisborough in lovely countryside. Loved the terrace for drinks with a view and the comfy salon for relaxing indoors. Huge and super comfy bed; fluffy white towels and Molton Brown toiletries. There was a hairdryer and iron. The sense of a luxury stay.

Whilst the breakfast was delicious and provided everything you could hope to eat in the morning, service was overwhelmed on both mornings with waits of 30-40 mins for the hot order. On the 2nd day, after a 40- minute wait, the wrong order turned up for 3 of us. Staff were lovely but clearly there is a problem (there were wedding parties on both days but breakfast numbers were obviously known in advance). A couple of other things missing that I would have expected in a 4* hotel: a fridge in the room and air conditioning (it was 28 degrees that day - Housekeeping did bring a fan but the whole place was distressingly hot inside) and table service on the drinks terrace. I loved the hotel but the tedious breakfast service spoilt it a bit.

Beautiful hotel set in lovely grounds. The rooms were nice and big and very comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and helped with all my needs like ordering a taxi to get into town. Ample parking if you’re bringing your own vehicle.

Not so much a dislike, more of a confusion. The location of the room in the hotel wasn’t the most straightforward, however, the staff did offer good guidance.

Reception staff efficient and welcoming. Breakfast excellent - pleasant dining room, good food well cooked, good staff. A pot of tea in the lounge also good - a comfortable place for five of us to be able to have a cup of tea and a chat.

Dinner in the bar was ok but we all had fish and chips and that was nothing special with the chips being a little overdone.

Beautiful old building, nice spa facilities, lovely staff particularly the cleaners, masseuse and receptionists.

I feel that the conservatory lacked an opportunity for real plants and could be used to elevate the Afternoon Tea experience if it did so. Waiting prior to a booked meal felt odd, we also had to wait for coffee for over 45 mins after dessert and chase this down despite ordering same time as we ordered dessert on Sunday so our friends missed this and had to leave. Waiting staff too busy chatting at other tables to notice (Sunday)
