Stopped at the King's Head for a night while walking the Cleveland Way. Property and its associated rooms are excellent, comfortable and spacious, with great views up to Roseberry Topping and the moors. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and the restaurant served a great dinner and breakfast. I would heartily recommend a visit if you're walking that way, or looking for a place to explore the North York Moors from.

The WiFi was a little patchy at times, but that really was a very minor issue weighed against the excellent experience :)

Lovely location, room.was lovely, spacious and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful Evening meal was fantastic, freshly cooked and well prepared. Breakfast was good.

The gluten free menu is on an app, not easy to use and doesn't show ingredients, so choice was limited eg if the meal has a side of bread, eventhough gf bread available. That said the staff were really helpful and checked the contents of individual meals. No gf cereal at breakfast but ample other choices

Nice reception but the owner and staff. I came early to have a walk before check-in and all my gear was neatly waiting for me in my room upon return. Good dinner options. Breakfast was a mix of self-serve continental and cooked breakfast to order. Cook was very flexible handling allergies.

Beds are fine but a bit too short for me. As it was the easter holidays there were some families with kids staying upstairs from me. Logically this makes some noise in a historical building. I had no trouble with it.

it is situated under the shadow of Roseberry Topping in a beautiful area of old Yorkshire and Captain Cook area. It is an attractive village pub beautifully set out and furnished inside an excellent range of drinks with a very good and tasty food offering. The staff are very friendly and kind and work well as a team. Our room was well fitted out with a large four poster bed, spacious and with a large modern bathroom. we thought it was lovely and good value.

Breakfast was amazing. Delicious and served quickly and was very well presented. The views were absolutely wonderful. Although quite small, my room was a double on the ground floor. It was spotlessly clean and very well presented. It had everything I could have wanted.... including a set of ear plugs and eye mask to help sleeping, presented in a lovely muslin bag.

As we were there for work, the internet and telephone signal was not good. I couldn't work or catch up with any of my work due to the internet connectivity being very poor. I had to go outside to make any phone calls.

Great location and a wonderful stay. The room was clean and everything worked, plenty of hot water and a good shower. The pub offered great food, I had the breakfast and also dinner each evening, I was not disappointed with any of the meals.

The free wi-fi was a bit hit and miss at times. It did occasionally drop off and was also slow. A bit inconvenient when trying to do some catching up on emails but does not detract from the great place it is to stay at.

Great setting with fantastic views of Roseberry Topping. It was easily accessible, with a purpose built accommodation block which wasn’t too large including dog friendly rooms on the ground floor, although it’s an old style stone building it was modern inside. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food is of a very high standard and consistently good.

The mobile phone signal is very weak and the bar area was a little draughty at times. It would’ve been good if there had been more soft drink choice such as bottled coke and Pepsi.

We were made welcomed from the moment we arrived. We had a small issue with the lock to our room which was dealt with very effectively and quickly by the return from home of the on site maintenance man. Evie dealt with the issue very professionally. This was a common thread with all the staff throughout our stay. The bar and food service was excellent and the food quality was great. Breakfast each morning was also of a high standard. A final thanks also to Evie for the use of the phone charger a life saver. Cannot praise Nicky and the team enough in making our stay memorable. Highly recommend staying here for a few nights relaxing break.

Food was great and loads of it. The staff were friendly and approachable and extremely helpful. The room was lovely, well presented with a modern bathroom and a four-poster bed! THe view of Roseberry Topping from the window was a bonus.
