This was staying in a pub rather than a small hotel and should be reviewed as such. Free parking available, good breakfast options exactly as advertised. Limited but free Continental Breakfast (toast, jams, marmalade, cereals and hot drinks included or lovely cooked breakfast at reasonable price cooked while you wait. The rooms are big and airy with iron and ironing board available to use. Friendly staff and a code for late access after hours. Excellent value for money as a base to visit local friends and nearby Cotwolds and a trip to Bath. We would return.

It's an old traditional pub, so the rooms and back stairs etc reflect that. Bit hard work carrying up the suitcase. Everything was clean, but the accomodation was tired, not modern. BBC reception didn't work on the TV but we weren't there to watch TV. But I knew what I was buying. It wasn't oversold as modern and up to date and and I don't want these comments to reflect badly. We absolutely got what was advertised and what we paid for at a great price.

It was everything you would expect from a budget hotel. The room was clean ,the linen was good quality, small en suite with a shower and toilet , tv ,good size wardrobe and chests of drawers . Complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee. Continental breakfast included in price but well worth the extra for a cooked option . Staff are friendly . If you dine in the evening here the food is fantastic ,good value for money ,plenty of variety and good service . WiFi available code given on check in, Separate entrance with code for after 11pm at night . Free parking out the back of the property and a very nice pub garden . Perfect for an overnight stay and a very good price

Few minor things the room had a TV but no remote to work it,so we were unable to have that on Tea and coffee tray only had 1 wooden stirrer no teaspoons. The chest of drawers the fronts were coming off. Nice wallpaper but paintwork in window and other areas in need of attention I have to say none of this effected our stay but its an observation we made and was asked for in the feed back request.

I stayed there for just under a week. The hotel/pub is located right on the high street, 5 minutes away from the bus stop (bus number 7 to Swindon, which runs until late in the evening and on Sundays) and from a Coop supermarket. There is a large car park and the pub looks really nice. I didn't try it as I came down with a cold at the end of my stay. The building is a bit quaint, I personally liked it. My room was on the last floor and had a nice view, it was small but didn't feel claustrophobic, It was quite warm, had a large, comfortable bed and the water for the shower was hot. Checking in and out was a smooth process, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I am particularly grateful to the housekeeper for letting me sleep during the day: I work night shifts, pretty unpredictable (i.e. my shifts are cancelled as I'm on my way to work, or I get asked if I can come in even if it means arriving a couple of hours after the official beginning of the shift). As a result, I now try to sleep whenever I can, until I can get a fixed routine, with 'untouchable' rest days (or rather nights)!

My only gripe is that the plumbing was a bit noisy, but I quickly got used to it. Also, the white carpet and bedding might prove difficult to clean if they ever get hikers!

We were staying in Highworth for a family party. We managed to book the last room at The Saracens and other people had to stay at the far more expensive pub further up the road. Our room was basic but totally acceptable. Shower was lovely. We did not have much of the included continental breakfast as our group had booked the Sunday lunch. The roast was amazing value for money at £13 per head and there was plenty for everybody. A massive doggy bag was taken away for the dog. Staff were all really friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

It’s a simple hotel, our room was big and the towels and bedsheets are clean.

When you enter you will smell the carpets and used/dirty bedsheets as we saw the open cupboard of used linens, there were some leaks as you go upstairs, i think it needs some renovations. The sink wasn’t that clean, there were some yellowish stains even the shower floorings. There were some noises from the people staying upstairs. We thought that the breakfast included is any type of breakfast in the menu but turns out it was just coffee, tea and toast. They should have informed it clearly on the description of the hotel.

Food was excellent serving up decent traditional Pub Fayre with a fantastic range of Beers & Ales on tap at great prices. Large Parking to the rear of the pub & all staff were very friendly & constantly making sure everyone was served quickly.

Nothing TBH at this price point to moan about but the Brewery could give the rooms a lick of paint & a tidy up to maintain a better image for this great pub.

Stayed here before in a different room but Room 3 was much better with a comfortable double bed in a spacious room and a huge bathroom. I liked the quirkiness of the sloping floor that required the end legs of the bed to be propped on wood blocks, interesting art work on the wall, good size flat screen tv that I could see from the bed, stone fire surround (closed fire place) added to old world charm, tea making facilities in room. Good value for money

Nothing, knew what to expect and turned out better

The food was absolutely fantastic. Huge portion and very tasty. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of drinks choices. Huge carpark at the rear. Easy to find . Good value for money.

The bed wasn't that comfortable. The room wasn't t the best kept. (Hole in the roof. )Old fashioned. But ok for the price. ( Not the Hilton ) but was only £60. A night for a family of 3. With a continental breakfast. But no croissants . You can get a cooked breakfast but it's extra.

The staff was friendly and I was able to take a very hot bath after I drove through the rain on my motorcycle for hours. It's not expensive for what you get. Good option if you have to spend the night somewhere and all you need is a room. The bar is nice, the food is ok. There are not that many other food options in Highworth.

It's not that clean. I travelled over all the world, so I'm used to much worse. But you have some fungus in the bathroom and stains in the carpet.

Very friendly bar staff when checking in and information given. Food was of good quality. Choice of beers.Free parking around rear of premises own premises and easy access to hotel. Enjoyed short evening stroll around small village.

Room 6. Generally good decor let down by visable tears on both draw curtains. Room front facing main street, some passing traffic noise (sash windows) Micro-bathroom/shower was superb in the July '22 heatwave))
