Reception at the Plough Inn was friendly and welcoming, immersing us straigth away in the local atmosphere of the pub. The rooms were above expectation with separate seating area and well appointed bathroom provided. All immaculately appointed and cleaned to perfection. The pub setting for dinner is absolutely perfect, providing the opportunity to talk to the locals and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Hostess Marianne taking care of front-of-house is charming and convivial, making us feel at home straight away, while paving the way for the excellent dishes prepared by husband and chef Richard, assuring us of an excellent dining experience. The best review I can give is that I'll be certain to go back to the Plough Inn whenever I am in the area next!

No remarks whatsoever.

The breakfast menu was good with breakfast delivered to the room at a pre requested time. When the pub was open we had our evening meals there and the food was excellent. On days the pub was closed they delivered food to the room again at a pre requested time. Location is beautiful with lots of walks. Staff were really welcoming and helpful.

Needs a shaver socket somewhere but otherwise bathroom was excellent. TV reception was a bit iffy at times and the lounge one seemed to lose channels.....but easily sorted. Internet had to be re signed in each time it was used...but again not a big deal.

The hotel rooms are like small apartments in a converted barn less than 50m from the pub. the car park has plenty of spaces away from the road. hotel rooms are excellent - clean, well finished and have a great upstairs mezzanine with a sofa bed and 2 place table.. I stayed here overnight with my 2 kids and we had a great stay and fantastic meal in the pub which offered great service and great food.

the roads to get to the hotel are single country lanes, we arrived at the hotel around 4.30pm and had to leave early the next morning around 7.30am so we didn’t encounter any traffic but on the narrow lanes traffic this could be a problem at the wrong time of day, just something to consider! this does make the place more remote and endearing to visit though!

I thought this was exceptional value for money. The owners have a really special offering here. It was the perfect short getaway from London that I tied in with a hike, of which there are plenty of routes int he area. I loved the breakfast delivery as well. A bonus was it felt very sustainable, didn't notice any single use plastics anywhere.

I suggest providing a (glass) bottle of water in the fridge.

We loved the location in the middle of the countryside with beautiful walks from the doorstep (the bespoke map with circular walks of various levels from the inn was a lovely touch). The rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with everything you could need. The food was exceptional (and we live in London) - much more than you would expect for a typical pub!

Really beautiful and clean room, spacious and comfortable. The rooms are separate from the pub, seconds round the corner , surrounded by fields - the view at sunset was absolutely stunning! You could order breakfast to be brought to your room which was a nice touch. The pub looked lovely a very cosy, unfortunately we didn't get chance to eat there but would have liked to. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if in the area.

Nothing really the room was perfect. The only very small suggestion/ preference I would have is to have dairy free alternative to milk for the breakfast :)

There are some places you spend hours researching and still they don’t come up to scratch. The Plough exceeded our expectations in every way. Booked on a whim within a few hours of our arrival. A lovely welcome in the bar to enjoy the well kept ales followed by our walk to the accommodation. We stayed in Kite Hill. Very well designed. Lovely and clean with everything you could wish for provided. Good quality toiletries, fresh milk in fridge. Quality linen and bedding. Upstairs lounge/ dining area very cozy. This is where we enjoyed our marvellous breakfast hamper. Wish all establishments did this! Fully recommend eating here. The food is quite simply delicious. The liquorice cheesecake with beetroot was something to remember for all the right reasons. Extensive wine list too. We also stayed for Sunday lunch.. meat was soft and succulent. The staff here certainly make the difference. They are very professional and friendly and should be congratulated on their care and attentiveness towards customers. We will most certainly be back.

Nothing to dislike at all.. The only criticism I would say was the apple and prune crumble dessert we had on Sunday wasn’t up to the standard we’d come to expect.

The owners and team (and locals) are so friendly and welcoming The rooms are spacious (the bathrooms are exceptional as is the bed linen and pillows) The food was delicious and the location stunning

The twin beds are not anywhere close to being standard single size so although wide enough for children they are not acceptable for adults.

We had such a lovely time staying at the plough inn. Perfect location for lots of dog walks and the room was so comfortable and had everything we needed. We had dinner in the bar area with our dog during our stay and the food was lovely, although as it was busy we did have to wait a while between courses. We will definitely return!

Rural but not remote. Ideal for a Continental sleepover. Very comfortable bed and quiet location. Super modern fixture and fittings but with traditional design. Dinner was excellent . Great menu and served by a blazing wood fire.

Breakfast was a clever and very tasty ingredients served in the room but nothing beats sitting in a dining room.
