We had a very warm welcome which is critical; the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy, much more sophisticated than we had imagined with excellent facilities. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the food was excellent, great choice and variety. The stories of David Dale and Robert Owen and their social reforms were incredibly interesting - I think the whole establishment (including the Visitor Centre) needs to be marketed and highlighted, especially to groups like the Humanists. I'm a member of the York Humanists and I can't wait to tell them all about it.
We had no complaints.

stunning surroundings with a beautiful view
The 1st room we were put in was a disabled room with no bath and no view of the river which was very disappointing. Not the most romantic for a couples night away. Reception was very helpful and luckily had 1 room left that they could move us to. The room we were moved to was lovely but wouldn’t have been happy if they didn’t have that room left. Dinner was ok but expected more for a 4 star hotel, Starter consisted of a bag of salad thrown on a plate with hardly any Halloumi, very disappointing. The Hotel itself is absolutely stunning and the surroundings are incredible, I think they just need to up their game a little

Fabulous location, lovely view of Clyde from our windows, quiet, comfortable and relaxing, only there a couple of days so didn't use any of the facilities that the Hotel offer, have stayed here on other occasions, would have preferred one of their suites but sadly they weren't available this time..Staff were friendly and unobtrusive which is fab.
As in most places the cooked breakfast was a little disappointing, I normally get rhe continental breakfast to avoid this...nothing majorly wrong just not to my taste..we did get room service which is always a bonus, much nicer relaxing in your own room to eat.

Breakfast was good. Marmalade only? Honey would have been good as well. The staff were helpful. One went out of her way to help me as I had forgotten my iPhone charger.
The restaurant was uncomfortable for single diners in the central tables. More privacy would have been appreciated. Major problems with key cards for the first 2 days of my stay. Staff unaware of a problem apparently caused by an electricity outage. Wash-hand basin plug not working throughout my stay. I did suspect a problem which should have been detected before my entry to the room.

Obviously a special place and environment, well worth visiting, convenient parking, a good benefit to be on site out of normal visitor hours. Pool very good. Large room with lovely views over river. All hotel workers very helpful: special mention to cleaner who opened our window beyond call of duty! Dinner was better than expected, with good service, menu and flavours.
Surprised when arrival coincided with wedding reception. Hotel workers allayed our fears of noise and disruption, but it would have been preferable to be advised in advance - something which we feel should apply to all hotels with function facilities. We had room service breakfast as warned dining room would be busy - but it was very poor, cold, tasteless, such that service charge was dropped when mentioned at checkout. But apart from that all was excellent.

The room was beautiful spotless and lovely view looking onto the river . The pool was fabulous and breakfast was good too
The pool didn't have rail to hold steps going into pool I felt a bit uncomfortable and using the ladder isn't good for older people with leg , Knee problems Bar was closed at 10 .30 when we arrived back from show in Lanank so would have liked a small refreshment . No porridge at self service for breakfast ? Other cereals there but need to ask for porridge also service was very good however while eating starter of fruit yogurt cooked breakfast arrived so by time got to it got toast was cold but was edible. Coffee cold too ..

Room was spacious and well equipped with a nice bathroom. Plenty of towels, complimentary robes and our room was close to the lift so made getting to different areas of the hotel easy. Breakfast was relaxed with both cooked and continental options available, we had a good breakfast and food arrived promptly and hot. Dinner was freshly made, varied options with some free from options available. Staff were friendly an appropriately attentive. I had a massage at the spa - facilities were nice and the massage was relaxing.
The pool was really cold as was the jacuzzi. Some areas of the hotel could be updated such as the carpets in the hallways.

The location was really incredible. The converted mill situated right on the river was picture perfect. The room was a nice size and very comfortable. In the morning, we took a walk up to the waterfall. The route was well maintained and clear easy signposts to follow. This was a stop on the way to a long weekend holiday elsewhere, so it was a perfect one night stay as it felt like a break in and of itself.
The gym opening time was 9:30, we were already out of the hotel by then. I can understand why a pool (which the hotel does have) might not open until later (though I would argue that many people who swim like to go first thing in the morning as well), not having gym access early in the AM (7:00 opening at the latest) was a letdown. Also for the price of the hotel room only, once we got there we say a sign for the room and 2 massage treatments for the price we paid. Disappointing again.

We chose New Lanark Mill as a cheaper stopover for a trip to Edinburgh and found a gem! It's a destination in itself with beautiful grounds, a luxury hotel experience and interesting history. We'll definitely go back and stay longer next time.
Only slight quibble was breakfast and service at breakfast weren't quite up to the standards of everything else - we were expecting something special after a lovely meal in the bar the evening before and missed out on cooked breakfast because service was slow and we had a schedule to keep to.

This hotel is in a stunning location with both a visitor centre to explain the history and a beautiful riverside walk literally on the doorstep. The rooms are a good size as is the bathroom altho rather plain. The evening meal was very nice. Comfy bed, good staff and very clean.
The wifi and mobile reception are. Not surprisingly with all those thick Victorian walls, a bit ropey. The eggs Benedict we had for breakfast were absolutely rubbish. The cooked breakfast and porridge looked like way better options.
