When looking at some of the bad reviews I was a bit worried, however the hotel exceeded my expectations. My room was on the 5th floor, so in the "cheap end" - however it was not run down and everything worked fine. The hotel must have been spectacular during its heyday, and the main public rooms still show the former glory. I was wondering why there were not many people there, as I thoroughly enjoyed sitting and working there in the evening, listening to nice soothing classical music. The check-in was fast and the staff were friendly. (The people in line before me had problems, as they did not have any ID with them, but it must be noted, that the hotel had sent me an information well before that the ID will be required.) I particularly liked the kind night porter with whom I had a good chat about the history of the hotel, and who gave me a booklet with more information. Cheers!
Walls are quite thin, so that one can witness what the neighbours are up to late at nigh, which I would have preferred not to know. Luckily for me (and not for the lady) it was over soon. Ahh, yes, and two separate taps for the sink in this day and age ...

I actually loved the faded grandeur. I am sure many hotels would not let the room I had in that state but for me it added to the uniqueness. And The wardrobe/ cupboard was fantastic being reminiscent of a proper linen press of 100 years ago. Honestly I love the fact that it has not been modernised and updated. It has a slight old world colonial feel about it. Itās not anonymous like most hotels. However, If you want a modern bathroom with no flaking paint, and no emergency temporary tatty tape around the wc this room would not be for you but it made ME smile. Reception staff were great. I met a cleaning lady as I left and she was friendly. Location is good and there is a very convenient car park
It was a shame that there was no decent coffee at breakfast and I probably would not bother with breakfast again.

Once again I had an overnight stay at the Adelphi . In fact Iām booked for Monday evening also . The Adelphi is always my 1st choice for a midweek stay if I have an early train from lime street station . Room was again spotlessly clean , always a hint of faded grandeur but bed was comfy , sheets crisp , room was quite large . Decent view from my window . Bath was nice & deep , water warm . Plenty of good towels & tea & coffee . All in all a good stay !
Nothing really - I did get a strange door in that I opened the first door & there was another behind that which made it look like the room had been blocked off but once I pushed on it opened up into a decent room . It wasnāt a problem just I didnāt know about it .

We stayed in a superior room 179 on first floor with a view. Was more like a bedroom with a whole other living room was so big and high ceilings, beautifully decorated and the old wood built in wardrobs and dressing table absolutely stunning š Slept very well nice big comfortable bed and tv was a 42inch with Chestfield couch and 2 chairs for seating. Bathroom was in a separate room which was also big and had bath and shower plenty of hot water no issues there.Breakfast was good plenty to choose from nice bacon and sausage.Fresh fruit would be better and more coffee machines as only seen one
The only thing that let's this beautiful hotel down is the men on the steps outside drinking, taking drugs, fighting etc. Asbo should be applied so that nobody can gather and drink etc or security guards employed

The location of the hotel is ideal for access to the many historic buildings in the city and the train stations. The hotel has it's own car park at the rear of the hotel, about 5 minutes walk away from the entrance - just pay at reception on arrival. The double room was very basic but had everything needed, including hair dryer and iron, as well as plenty of storage. This year we had a top floor room with a really interesting view. Staff are helpful. The breakfast is great value for money, with a huge variety; cooked, cereal, fruit and yogurt, bread / toast (with optional jam or marmalade), juices, tea and coffee - all self service, as much or as little as you want. No need to book in advance, you can buy tickets at reception on the day. Bag storage available - this is really useful if you want a leisurely breakfast on your last day and need somewhere to leave your luggage. There are bus stops right outside the hotel which is really useful, and the buses are frequent. An adult day rider bus ticket is well worth buying if you want to travel around the city and beyond.
Unfortunately, the rooms are not the cleanest, but manageable. I wouldn't say it's suitable for small children, due to the old fashioned radiators. I've stayed there before so knew what to expect, but the room was a lot smaller than before. Due to it's central location, there is a lot of noise late into the night, but that can be entertaining too.

We stayed at Adelphi Hotel with my daughter for 2 nights. We found the hotel absolutely beautiful upon arrival, we arrived a little bit earlier and was checked in within 10 mins. We got a room on the 6th floor, and the view was absolutely stunning, room was clean, bathroom was lovely. HOWEVER, we found that there was absolutely no signal at all, the tv did not work nor did the WiFi, perhaps because of how high up we were. This wouldnāt have been an issue on maybe a solo trip, but as we had our daughter with us it was definitely a bother as no movies to watch or able to download. We went down to reception and they had us moved to the 4th floor with no issues and were apologetic. We got to our room and it was much bigger, very homey and fancy. But again, we just couldnāt get any signal, we decided to stay in this room as we didnāt want to faff about but we pretty much had one bar of signal and WiFi the whole time. Iād say we got the WiFi working for 5 mins every half an hour. The Tv was working, but very poor selection of channels. No Netflix, or smart tv. Just the casual channels where there no kids channels or entertainment. Overall we had a good stay, just not sure weād stay again due to my daughter being bored half the time and the connection issue. Just a bit disappointing because we donāt come often but absolutely love Liverpool, and Iād say we didnāt get to enjoy it fully because of these issues.
WiFi & signal, absolutely awful for a 6 story hotel. I donāt think Iād recommend this place to people with kids or a solo traveller thatās come to stay for work, as you wouldnāt be able to get any work done at all. TV- Poor selection. Can bug out sometimes.

The room was wonderfully spacious with a view over the city as requested, the bed super comfortable and amazingly long bath and good shower in the ensuite. The hotel lounge is fabulous - just like a film set! The hotel is very convenient for Lime Street station and the city centre.
The central heating was on all night with no way to switch off the radiator and the room became too hot. We did mention this to a member of staff but it happened again the 2nd night - the heating was supposed to go off overnight apparently. The WiFi was supposed to be available in public areas but didn't seem to be. We were disappointed that the residents' bar wasn't open.

Look, you're paying Ā£60 a night for a room in a hotel that was once The Ritz of Liverpool. Its glory is long past but they are slowly refurbishing the rooms and the housekeeper was kind enough to show us around the rooms in the floors that are soon to be opened - they look very nice! The place is interesting, and actually the shower was good, my room quite charming, toiletries and teas were provided (I booked the deluxe and it was worth the extra) and if you paid an extra Ā£25 per couple you got four drinks from the bar, two breakfasts and late checkout. You can't really complain for Ā£12 per person for that. Of course it's not The Ritz, it's something else, but you know that when you're booking, surely. Carparking is nearby and cheap. I'd stay here over a bland chain hotel any day.
We were there in January so The American bar was closed. The front door is broken and doesn't look like it's getting fixed any time soon.

Hotel was really pretty, staff all seem really friendly. Our room was clean and spacious, really good sized room for the price. Really happy with my stay and would definitely stay again and reccomend to others.
Only minor fault I'd say is some of the rooms are slightly out dated, for example the room I stayed in, the ceiling was bowed and looked like it needed re plastering. Other than that some parts were slightly out dated or needed doing up, it was wonderful. Really good hotel š
