Location is amazing Walking distance to hyde park, national museums and attractions in London Walking distance to Edgware road where you can find plenty of authentic Arabic and Turkish food Good for.solo travellers,it is a bit condensed with travelers from everywhere but it is basic for who wants a bit to sleep There is a small kitchen where you can prepare a small meal or share tea, coffee and cookies Walking distance to tesco , Sainsbury's,local groceries and coffee shops including Starbucks Walking distance to pound land shop where you can get your basic supplies for the trip and cheap gifts with 1-5£ Close to train and metro station where you can move so smoothly in london to different attractions Walking distance to big London tour station in marble arch where you can ride the bus for 2-3 hours in london for the most historic places
I found it difficult to use the shower sometimes especially the 1st day as it was always occupied and the toilet wasn't always available. The hotel would benefit for more maintenance of the heating and ventilation system and providing more rest facilities indoors It took me ten minutes to find the hotel as there were no signs to guide you to it

Good location, friendly helpful staff. Convenient for transport and shops. The fans in the room, a blessing in the hot weather. A good sized and equipped kitchen with ample space in the fridges to store your food. A good size under bed locker, although you had usb ports by your bed a power point would have been nice. A few films/programmes shown on Netflix.
The stairs, I was on the fourth floor, it was a pain if you were going from the kitchen which was in the basement back to the room. Couldn't always use the lounge as it was busy so a plug by your bed would have been nice (There were a few sockets in the room but they were in use a lot of the time and there was only one stool to sit on. Some of the other guests were a challenge shall we say.

The staff was lovely and kind, the bed was clean and comfortable and the overall hostel's vibe is good! The living room and kitchen are nice sharing spaces. Also, the location is convenient and beautiful. Next to Hyde Park and in such a lovely neighborhood.
The room could be a bit cleaner, there was some dust on the floor and the toilet had a strange smell most of the time due to air ventilation I would say, but it was clean anyhow. I recommend bringing your own padlock because the one that I bought at the reception wasn't really handy, but it's done its purpose. :)

The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Very outgoing and welcoming. Special shoutout to Ryan, Felix and Talae who all went out of their way to make sure i was getting out and exploring everything in the area. They were super friendly and approachable with a great customer focus of offering suggestions for the surrounding areas.
Internet was horrendous and often didnt reach the room, however i was informed that this was something being worked on. No curtains on some of the beds. Which would have been nice.

This is the best hostel I have ever been to. The location is superb, right around the corner there is Kensington and Hyde Park. The staff were extremely customer-oriented, friendly and willing to step in in case of need ( I had some with late check out and buying the new suitcases cause the old one had the zip broken). The street is quiet so you can enjoy your morning coffee and a cigarette in silence. I will definitely return to this hostel .
The only issue is the staircase , which looks like the one in old castles or Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty”. To climb up to the fifth floor was an ordeal . Exactly the same when the Sleeping Beauty/ Aurora climbed up to touch the spindle . And when you get to the 5th floor, the door handle is at the level of your head , so you think “Finally, this is the “Spindle Room “. 😃but memorable staircase though!

Superb staff.Excellent location.Very close to Hyde Park and local shops and restaurants.Very nice area and safe at night .Just watch your phone and wallet in Queensway if its busy.A nice area for women as safer than some other areas.
I think if there is a school trip staying then the staff should be responsible for noise late at night it shouldnt be that the staff have to tell them to calm down.First group was superb but the older group of French ones had some noisy characters who were deeply unpopular with the guests.Again the team leaders must ensure guests have a peaceful night not disturbed by their kids. However the staff were great despite some having only 4 hours sleep. So if you like your zzz'z check if theres a school group staying.

I absolutely loved their bathrooms, although somewhat compact, the shower water pressure was better than anything I've ever tried before. The bed was clean and comfy, remember to bring a blanket or tower to hang to have privacy as there are no curtains. The staff were super friendly and even helped me print my boarding pass. The facilities were really clean, with a spacious cafeteria and a fully specked out kitchen. The neighborhood was nice and the hostel near a tube station, although it's name was nowhere on the door, you have to go by the building number.
The bathrooms were a bit to small and one guy snored all night, though the staff are hardly to blame for that, I was just unlucky.

The first impression was not very good, but it just first. Staff was very friendly and cheerful. Perfect location. Nearby are cafes, shops, bistros, metro and great park (almost the center of London). The breakfast was very simple but excellent for £3 ( soy milk, coffee, toasts, a lot of different jams). Near my bed was a personal place for charging a phone, lighting, a shelf for a phone and a place to store my bag.
The room was small (I expected this). It was hot but then we opened a window and everything got better. Bedding was clean, but a toilet was so-so. The common toilet was clean. Hostel is worth this money. I think it's a good place if you need to stay in London for few days.

The best hostel to stay in London. I had to spend some time in London and i stayed nearly in every hostel in London. Astor is one of the best hostels to stay in every aspect. The staff is super friendly and ready to help with anything, and always in a good mood. They take good care of the cleanliness. They clean properly and the bathrooms don't smell like they haven't been cleaned for a week. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge area has a big screen Tv, great for watching movies and chilling.

Everything but the staff who work there really make it a great experience. I really liked the set up of the room I was in. Enough for privacy but still socialising. Danny and Felix were fantastic. Any time I needed something they did it. Danny was able to find me fresh sheets in a real busy period just to allow me to have new sheets for the second half of my stay too! Maddy, Lauren, Josh, Dj and Fernando (I hope I didn’t forget any) were all so lovely and ended up feeling like roommates, whenever they’d be working they were so considerate of people sleeping always knocking and checking before entering the room to make/strip beds and ALWAYS kept the rooms and kitchens tidy. Absolutely fantastic staff. Also kudos to Maddy and Lauren for organising such fun events outside of the usual pub crawls that hostels can tend to do! The ice skating and picnic in the park was loved by all! Thanks astor Kensington for the awesome stay! I’ll definitely be back! These staff members definitely deserve payrises! Above and beyond efforts!
Aircon! But only cause it was so hot! There’s one fan thank god haha but yeah that would be the only thing!
