Right across the street from Kings Cross train station. If you're looking for a safe, secure, and clean place this is it. If you're looking for the day spa, nouvelle cuisine, and martini bar, you need to keep looking. This place is simple but the bathroom was up to date and clean as was the room and bed linen. For location and price you'd be hard pressed to beat it if you're just looking to lay your head, get cleaned up, and catch a train the next morning.

Really, nothing. It was exactly what I needed and expected.

Lots of shops nearby from useful grocery stores like Nisa and Marks and Spencers for essentials to luxury souvenir shops like Fortum and Masons and The Harry Potter Shop. If you are into clothing Camden Market is 20 mins walk away and Paul Smith, Fred Perry and more are just across the road in Kings Cross. MacDonalds, Pret A Manger, and a large choice of Artisan Bars and Restaurants at Granary Square are all nearby. Close to transport for London, the UK and even Europe (buses, tube, National trains and Eurostar!) as you are just across the road from Kings Cross Station and St Pancras. British Library just across the road and within walking distance for Camden and West End. Free parking at weekend - from 1.30pm Saturday to 8.30 Monday. In Zone one so local London transport is cheap. All the staff were friendly. Comfortable beds. This really was an excellent hotel for a city break or a stop off if you are exploring the UK/Europe.

It is noisy as it is right by a large, busy road so bring your earplugs. The lift is very small and disabled access is limited, but staff are very accommodating so I'm sure they'd sort you out if you let them know your needs in advance. No bar or food available in the hotel but this is not really problem as local area is so well serviced. This would not be great place to stay if you expect to spend a lot of time in a hotel lounging around in a bar, spa, or swimming in a pool - but why would you want to do that anyway if you are in London?

I have stayed in this hotel before, and in its sister hotel, the Belgrove (NOT Belgrave) just along the road, mainly for the location - ten minutes on foot from Euston, literally just across the road from Kings Cross and St Pancras, with any number of buses and tube lines, so that I can get to anywhere in London easily and conveniently. Add to the unrivalled location these two relatively inexpensive hotels with clean, comfortable beds, and I can't imagine choosing to stay anywhere else. I believe I was informally upgraded on arrival, so that (although I had made no stipulation) I wouldn't have to climb a lot of stairs. I had stayed before, and this was a bigger room, with a double bed, and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedside light - so often a problem in far more luxurious hotels - worked easily. The bathroom had space to lay out my toiletries, and there were clean towels every day. The shower, though a little dark and uninviting, had good pressure and really hot water.

My room, overlooking the street and major building works, was noisy. But when I had a view of St Pancras clock tower, I didn't really care, and it got noticeably quieter after 10 pm. The bathroom was fine, but had a very narrow door, and a steep step down into the bedroom that I found awkward and even slightly scary. Apart from the lady at reception when I arrived, who was charming, the reception staff, though they were all perfectly civil, lacked warmth. But I will certainly be back.

This hotel is very conveniently situated for Kings Cross and St Pancras Stations. It is also very close to the bus stops. The premises are modest and the rooms are simple but clean, but it is a great little place to stay. There are lashings of hot water, so I had good showers. There is a lift, which is not always the case with small properties but is much appreciated if you are travelling, as you will no doubt have luggage! What makes this hotel so special is the staff, who really do go out of their way to help. I arrived very early and just went to the hotel to ask whether I could store my luggage until check-in time and they let me access my room immediately. Full marks to Giovanni of the family who owns this hotel - he goes out of his way to help. I've stayed here on previous occasions and will no doubt do so again. Apart from the shops in the two mainline stations, there is a Tesco Express quite nearby.

Nothing really to dislike; sadly, since covid they have discontinued breakfast service but with so many places to eat nearby, there is no real problem.

the Carlton is hardly the Ritz but the room was more than comfortable and for the price was entirely worthwhile and the location could not have been better. I was quite pleased and will stay again. Was there for a week.

Perhaps a safety bar in the shower. The tub walls are very high and it would feel safer if there was something to grab

The staff are helpful and very friendly. The location is just across from Kings X station, so it’s super convenient and easy to get to. It has 24 hour check-in, adding to its convenience. My room had a really cute view and it was nice and warm. It was clean and my bed was comfy. They also let me leave my bags to go explore before I took my evening flight out of London.

The bathroom was a little pokey and a bit aged. It was pretty clean and hygienic though, other than the classic mineral build up on pipes. The kettle doesn’t fit I der the tap, so you just have to use the cup to fill it up.

The hotel is situated very close to the King’s Cross underground station, St. Pancras train station and different restaurants and grocery stores. Besides that the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel provides towels and a hairdryer. The staff was very friendly, helpful and nice.

It wasn’t such a big deal for me because I had a small luggage but no lift can be a problem for those with huge luggage.

I was given a room in the building a few doors down from the lobby, with a cosy room on the bottom floor. the bed was comfortable, all electronics worked, and the bathroom was functional. it is the perfect location for someone wanting a base to come back to after exploring London, with Kings cross a 2 minute walk away, with an entrance to the underground on the same side of the street about 150m away.

the rooms downstairs suffer from slow internet speeds with dropouts quite often, cell signal is also impacted pretty strongly so hot spotting isn’t a stable option.

location, very friendly and helpful staff and ideal for a solo traveller. They took a lot of trouble to get me a room on the ground floor and I finished up with a small double, although it would have been way too small for 2 people (no room for even my one suitcase to rest open except the bed). It's also good to find a small refrigerator in the room so that I can keep my milk fresh and my drinks cold.

Automatic light and fan in the ensuite. When I get up in the night, I don't want to be assailed with bright lights. It's also really annoying to have the lights go off after a very few minutes while I'm in the shower.

I was delighted with my stay. Checked in with ease by a lady from Moldova who was smiling and welcoming. She gave me the key and told me to climb the stairs as the lift was broken but she was sorry, Room was perfect. Somebody had thought of everything. I slept well and checked out early handing the keys to another experienced lady with a smile and said farewell I will return in March and it was a joy to stay at the Carlton

Just the broken lift as I have a weak foot and climbing lots of stairs hurts it
