Right across the street from Kings Cross train station. If you're looking for a safe, secure, and clean place this is it. If you're looking for the day spa, nouvelle cuisine, and martini bar, you need to keep looking. This place is simple but the bathroom was up to date and clean as was the room and bed linen. For location and price you'd be hard pressed to beat it if you're just looking to lay your head, get cleaned up, and catch a train the next morning.

Really, nothing. It was exactly what I needed and expected.

This is the second time we were staying here, the last being in 2018. The room we had on the third floor, No 29.was v good Staff responsive to our request, Olga and Zach Clean and comfortable room Proximity to St Pancras and Kings Cross

We were first given room 5 on the ground floor since we had requested a ground floor room. But this turned out to be difficult because of a constant and terrible roaring noise from what seened to be a chimney, perhaps from a neighboring hotel. We requested a change since we were to be there for two nights and after ascertaining our problem, Olga helped us to change the room. We are thankful to her. However, our suggestion is that if this noise is a recurring problem and cannot be dealt with in any way, then the hotel would need to reconsider allocation of this room to any guest in the interest of customer care.

location was amazing very central and easy to get to, all staff were friendly, helpful and supportive, the room had a kettle with tea, coffee, milk and sugar and the room even had a cute little fridge to keep my fruit and drink. Having an on-suite shower and toilet was great, as well as a chair and table if I needed to do some work.

the fan in the room only seems to work with the light on for some reason. The TV only had a 2 pin plug instead of the standard 3 pin plug and so I was unable to put it on. However, I just read my book to keep me entertained. Perhaps this is something that could be looked into for future guests.

I have stayed in this hotel before, and in its sister hotel, the Belgrove (NOT Belgrave) just along the road, mainly for the location - ten minutes on foot from Euston, literally just across the road from Kings Cross and St Pancras, with any number of buses and tube lines, so that I can get to anywhere in London easily and conveniently. Add to the unrivalled location these two relatively inexpensive hotels with clean, comfortable beds, and I can't imagine choosing to stay anywhere else. I believe I was informally upgraded on arrival, so that (although I had made no stipulation) I wouldn't have to climb a lot of stairs. I had stayed before, and this was a bigger room, with a double bed, and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedside light - so often a problem in far more luxurious hotels - worked easily. The bathroom had space to lay out my toiletries, and there were clean towels every day. The shower, though a little dark and uninviting, had good pressure and really hot water.

My room, overlooking the street and major building works, was noisy. But when I had a view of St Pancras clock tower, I didn't really care, and it got noticeably quieter after 10 pm. The bathroom was fine, but had a very narrow door, and a steep step down into the bedroom that I found awkward and even slightly scary. Apart from the lady at reception when I arrived, who was charming, the reception staff, though they were all perfectly civil, lacked warmth. But I will certainly be back.

Travelling to europe the following morning, the location of the Carlton was ideal with St Pancras/Kings Cross stations literally being across the road. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, welcoming and helpful! The room was ideal for a solo traveller and a lot more comfortable than i was expecting, as the room was spacious but also very clean and tidy and also a comfortable bed.

Only a small negative would be the shower not being very powerful, however i was on the third floor. Also, being so close to the busy main road, the noise levels can be quite loud however it was nearly 30 degrees, therefore the windows had to be opened, however it didnt affect my nights sleep.

Wonderful location basically across the street from King's Cross Station. Charming place, slightly quirky shapes but helpful staff and clean, comfortable room with a clean, basic bathroom. Not the place I'd recommend if you intend to stay in your hotel room, but terrific if your goal is to be close to train/underground station or the National Library. The price felt like a value in London and I would recommend with a single caveat (see below).

It was an unusually warm summer night and no A/C meant window open. It wasn't the hotel's fault that there was a prolonged verbal altercation just below and around the corner that required police at 12:30 am, but it felt in that moment like the location was almost too central and close to a hang out space and the room got a bit stuffy after closing the window.

If you're looking for luxury, then this isn't it. However, if you're looking for a great value, clean and tidy place to stay for a few days in London, then this is certainly worth consideration. The location is excellent from a convenience point of view, being just across the road from King's Cross St. Pancras station. It is a little noisy if you have the window open, but that's to be expected given such a central location. However, the sound deadening in the room when the window was closed was very good. The room itself was small, being a single, very clean, with a tiny ensuite, but was absolutely fine - there was a little TV, a little fridge, kettle, wardrobe and small table and chair. The bed was perfectly comfy. There is a tiny lift, but it's only 4 storeys to walk up anyway. The lift is handy if you have a heavy case, however. For the money paid, during the peak summer period, in central London, right next to a major railway station, it was an absolute bargain.

Nothing major really - the room was a little warm (hence the reason for having the window open), and I can imagine it would get quite hot when it's really warm weather, but there was a small fan in the room to assist with cooling duties.

This hotel is very conveniently situated for Kings Cross and St Pancras Stations. It is also very close to the bus stops. The premises are modest and the rooms are simple but clean, but it is a great little place to stay. There are lashings of hot water, so I had good showers. There is a lift, which is not always the case with small properties but is much appreciated if you are travelling, as you will no doubt have luggage! What makes this hotel so special is the staff, who really do go out of their way to help. I arrived very early and just went to the hotel to ask whether I could store my luggage until check-in time and they let me access my room immediately. Full marks to Giovanni of the family who owns this hotel - he goes out of his way to help. I've stayed here on previous occasions and will no doubt do so again. Apart from the shops in the two mainline stations, there is a Tesco Express quite nearby.

Nothing really to dislike; sadly, since covid they have discontinued breakfast service but with so many places to eat nearby, there is no real problem.

Lots of shops nearby from useful grocery stores like Nisa and Marks and Spencers for essentials to luxury souvenir shops like Fortum and Masons and The Harry Potter Shop. If you are into clothing Camden Market is 20 mins walk away and Paul Smith, Fred Perry and more are just across the road in Kings Cross. MacDonalds, Pret A Manger, and a large choice of Artisan Bars and Restaurants at Granary Square are all nearby. Close to transport for London, the UK and even Europe (buses, tube, National trains and Eurostar!) as you are just across the road from Kings Cross Station and St Pancras. British Library just across the road and within walking distance for Camden and West End. Free parking at weekend - from 1.30pm Saturday to 8.30 Monday. In Zone one so local London transport is cheap. All the staff were friendly. Comfortable beds. This really was an excellent hotel for a city break or a stop off if you are exploring the UK/Europe.

It is noisy as it is right by a large, busy road so bring your earplugs. The lift is very small and disabled access is limited, but staff are very accommodating so I'm sure they'd sort you out if you let them know your needs in advance. No bar or food available in the hotel but this is not really problem as local area is so well serviced. This would not be great place to stay if you expect to spend a lot of time in a hotel lounging around in a bar, spa, or swimming in a pool - but why would you want to do that anyway if you are in London?

Location was excellent, situated right across the road from St Pancras train station. The room, while basic, Wass very clean. The nearby shops and cafes of Kings Cross were also a pleasant space to wander through.

The ensuite bathroom was tiny (but clean). My room was in the hotel's building just up the street from reception and it didn't have a lift. The tight stairs presented a bit of a challenge to get my luggage up to my second floor room.
