After my last stay, six years ago, I was very happy yet again at Charlie's! Everything stayed as good and was made comfortable and safe, even though the rooms are small and basic, they offer the necessary basics like a comfy bed, a shower which does work, a loo which flushes, a radiator which works, an extra blanket, a small table + the kettle with a cup and saucer, which was promptly provided by request! There are no extras like hairdryer, etc but it doesn't hurt to bring your own travelling one! I loved the delicious breakfast which keeps you going all day with two fried eggs & very tasty sliced fried mushrooms! Also a vast selection of stuff to spread on your toasts, like Nutella😋

Well, the place does obviously needs some refurbishing, deco improvements, etc, but as I said, it was all good again for my two nights stay in London, same as before...

The couple that ran the place worked very well together . The breakfast was great ,large jug of orange juice on the table,cooked breakfast and toast . The mushrooms ,not sure how they were cooked but the flavour was amazing ,best mushrooms I ever had in my life . Room was cleaned each day and new towels provided.

The shower curtain was a little short so water dripped all over the floor . Sink very tiny ,which my husband found difficult to shave in. The heater didn't work ,first night felt really cold until I got in bed . The wall was touching the bed and I banged my head on the wall at least 3 times the first night .

Location is great less then 30 mins to city center, incliding a less then 10 min walk to metro station, among the lovely and peaceful residential neigbourhood. Area felt pretty safe for solo traveler even in the evening. Even though room is basic it is always kept clean, bed and pillows very comfortable. Also clean towels provided as well as shower gel. Breakfast was excellent, choice of English breakfast, omlette, cereals, with coffee/tea and orange juice, and everything was really delicious. Even though facility is a bit old and despite some reviews mentioning this as a flaw, I don' think this is something that really impacts the stay, because the checking and cleaning of rooms is regular and this is most important for bed and breakfast stays.

For me room size was enough but bathroom could be a struggle for someone more robust. Soundproofing not ideal but again as long as all the guest respect the quiet hrs, which was my experience, it is really peaceful.

The staff, especially Ramona, were incredible... Hot hot water every morning in the shower, safe secure parking, clean towels and room cleaned every day. Breakfast was delicious. I recommend the cheese omelette, and the value for money was incredibly high.

Nothing i didn't like to be fair... I booked and expected 2 stars with secure parking. But bear in mind it's 50£ a night, including breakfast. I asked for a bedside light, which was done immediately, and when I stay again, I'll take a travel kettle and mug as none was provided.

Staff were friendly, the neighbourhood was very quiet compared to everywhere else I've stayed in London and felt safe walking home from a gig in Kentish Town as a lone female. Breakfast was your choice freshly cooked to order - far better than usual breakfasts at this price point in London. Pillows and linens were decent quality and it was excellent value for the price.

I think most of the negative reviews were expecting far too much at this price point. You're not going to get 5 star luxury for this price. Yes, you can hear guests in the other rooms, but I brought earplugs so no problem.

Sisters birthday trip so all we really wanted was a bed for the nights but we definitely had our expectations exceeded! The owners were totally accommodating, friendly and helpful, lovely people. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for the money! Breakfast was lovely, beds are comfy and there's parking to boot. Ideal and affordable place to stop in London. We will be coming back in the future and we will be using the Charlie Hotel!

The neighbour in the adjacent room lol! Also tap kept running if it wasn't practically screwed off. Shower was a little weak.

After reading the reviews about this hotel online I was quite scared going into it. However, I was more than plesantly suprised. I want to comment on some of the things I saw other reviews mentioning: the staff were nice, the carpets were good, the beds were clean, I didn't try the showers as we were there for less than 24 hours and didn't really get a chance to, the breakfast was nice (there was lots avalible) and it didn't seem damp to me. The venue was also perfect for a concert we were going to at the dome, it was a 10 min walk if that from the tube and then the dome was opposite the tube station. I used google maps to get to the hotel the first time and then didnt need to use it again it was so easy to get to and from.

The rooms were very small (like uni room size small) but for a single night stay with my sister this wasn't an issue.

the location is great, about 10 mins from the tube and from the venue ‚the dome’. i felt very safe in the area, despite being a girl walking home alone at night. the staff was lovely and very friendly. i was a bit early, but they arranged for me to check in anyways. it’s a great option if you just need a place to sleep for a night or two. i didn’t have breakfast, so i can’t say anything about that. the room was small, but clean and the bed comfortable.

the room i stayed in was pretty outdated, the furniture, as well as the bathroom. the toilet didn’t flush very well. apart from that it was a nice stay and i would choose the place again!

I liked the location and was very handy for the northern line. The room was spacious with a nice double bed and a private bathroom. Toilet seat was wonkey and there wasn’t a proper toilet roll holder.

On the first night of arrival, my tv remote was not working, I brought this to the attention of the management who told me it either be fixed for my by the next day or I could have the option to move to another double room. Upon arrival on the second night, this was not fixed. However, I accepted that it wouldn’t be fixed for me. The breakfast on a morning was ok, but not outstanding. They say English breakfast but didn’t get everything that was supposed to be with it.

Loved staying here, you get to chose for breakfast if you want an English Breakfast, an omelet or cereal. Bathroom was small but everything you needed was there. Bed was comfortable there were towels and a packet of bodywash as some glasses in the room. The people are very nice, would highly recommend.

Shower door opens into the shower which was kinda annoying if you wanted to get in or out the shower and you have to really search for the right temperature and pressure but otherwise everything was nice. Walls are a bit thin but we didn't mind it too much.
