The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was fairy priced with great vegetarian options. The bedroom was clean and spacious, we loved the waterfall shower! The gym access was well used. Overall a great stay. We stayed for 2 nights and we’re not disappointed. The hotel is situated in a great location and has local shops available as well as a nice area to take morning strolls.

The flush was not the strongest. We had to flush 3-4x- possibly our fault for using a lot of toilet roll!!

Clean and comfortable with great customer service. Really handy location. Reasonable bar with nice terrace next to canal. Free access to gym, swimming pool, steam room and sauna etc. A delicious full breakfast, and they made vegetarian sausages freshly for us each day. A charity hotel owned and operated by YMCA, not that you’d know it when you stay there but it still feels Great. Going back again for next years Laughterama comedy festival. The comedy venue is literally across the canal from the hotel. So handy, we can’t wait.

No air con in the rooms and it was surprisingly warm the weekend we visited. They did give us a fan though and that made all the difference for us

The hotel was lovely and clean and the staff were really helpful and friendly. We didn't use the facilities but the reception area, corridors and room itself were lovely with hairdryer, shower over the bath, coffee and tea making facilities, iron and ironing board, and large wardrobe space for clothes and luggage.

We don't really have any complaints or anything - I think improvements could be made in terms of air con or fans.. our room was very hot especially during the night- there wasn't a fan or air con in the room.. but this was the only set back.

The size of the room was great with all the facilities I needed. The hotel is fab with all you would expect from it and a bonus of being able to use the attached gym. The Staff were very friendly and polite. It had Secure parking which isn’t too expensive on the grand scheme of things and made me feel very comfortable that my car and belongings were safe throughout my stay. I would absolutely stay here again.

With the Time of year room was a bit warm and we couldn’t get much ventilation through the windows. But I also fully understood there was no air con in the room when I booked it and decided to take that on the chin. Also no plug next to the bed only a minor annoyance for not being able to have a charging phone next to you.

Excellent family room 3 “proper” beds- usually a double and a camp bed in most places. Breakfast covered everyone tastes and preferences.

A little more information about how to use the gated car park should be a priority. Loved the idea of it being secure but not easy to get in and out. Machine at gate wasn’t giving tickets out to enter no one answered help button, had to park on double yellows run round to reception to get a ticket! Not ideal after a 5 hour car journey! Tried to get into car later ticket had run out of time, back again to reception so quite frustrating especially when we were all staying a few night for a wedding. Lots of steps to bring luggage into hotel very difficult when managing suitcases.

The room was very spacious and the bed was the comfiest bed I've had at any hotel I have stayed at. My wife has chronic back pain and even she said the bed was amazing so this made a big difference in our stay. The location is great with 2 restaurants at the top of the street heading into the centre which has many shops.

The family rooms which we had should cater for families (2 adult 2 children) that have 4 in it as we had to be put it 2 separate rooms and the family room could fit another bed against where the 2 windows are facing the street rather than taking up 2 rooms and parking is a bit expensive at £14 a night, if staying at the hotel you should get some sort of discount because as at the bottom of the street there is secure 24hr parking at £9 and it's about a 3 minute walk from the hotel.

It was perfectly located for the wedding venue we attended and for Castlefield area venues in general. It had private secure parking (£14) reasonably priced for Manchester city centre located adjoining the hotel. Also we received early check in which was brilliant as saved us returning to check in and the additional cost was very kindly waivered for us and my daughter and son-in-law. Receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful would definitely recommend and return to this hotel Also had a pool which my daughter and granddaughter said was lovely

There was maintenance work which was underway and in the way especially in the reception area but it was Friday so not quite the weekend and it had to be done

Last minute booking due to train strikes and so glad we stumbled on to this place! Clean, airy and large room with a bath and good view on the canals. Short walk to theatre (reason for our visit) and centre/lovely restaurants. Staff were amazing, super helpful and let us check in early. Didn’t make use of the pool or leisure facilities but appreciated that that was an option. Parking was simple and cost effective. Loved that it was affiliated with YMCA and the wrk they do. Had a really nice feel to the place and loved exploring the canal area. We’ll be back!

I have to say from start to finish, the Castlefield hotel was amazing. I needed to change my dates. Booking.com - where I booked this hotel - were appalling and refused to help so I contacted the hotel directly and their manager Sean sorted this change within minutes for me. Walking into the hotel with my dog, the staff were super friendly giving her lots of attention. She was welcome in the restaurant so that I could eat breakfast (even being offered a sausage from the buffet) and the reception staff even offered a room upgrade so that we had enough space. The room was clean and comfortable. Thank you again to all the amazing staff for making this an easy and comfortable stay, I will definitely being returning and highly recomend!

Walls are thin so could hear other guests coming and going.

I liked the foyer and bar layout. Felt welcoming. The sunny spot outside with seating was nice. I liked the size of the room, the breakfast, its spacious and staff are friendly. The pool was lovely, clean and warm.

Card only for payment, rooms were noisy, and we was placed by the road which was noisy, the parking situation was not good either it had a weird ticket system and i didnt like the ticket access and that is located quite far from the hotel and you have to carry your luggage up 20 stairs to get to the hotel entrance. I was pregnant and had a child already so find this extremely difficult.
