Most facilities were modern and beautiful! The spa area was amazing and catered to every need - the staff in the spa area were also great. Breakfast was really nice with a huge variety! We also ate dinner at Peter Street Kitchen - the staff were friendly, the front of house staff went over and beyond to cater for our needs. The care packages provided were so handy and so were the ice machines on each level. The room service was also amazing. It was also my partners birthday and they gave him a complimentary cake upon arrival to the room which we were so happy with!

Some facilities such as fixed units in the rooms were dated, we also had a bit of a rude encounter with someone from concierge - but nothing we would think twice about!

The rooms were, quiet and serviced well during our stay. The pool, sauna, and spa treatments made this hotel stay a pleasure. They were busy, and you had to book in advance, but it was worth it! Dinner was a lovely indulgence but expensive. However, there are plenty of other options in the immediate area.

The room designs are unusual. Whilst not having doors makes the room look bigger, you lose out on functionality and comfort. As a result, it's only possible to get ready in the morning or make a trip to the toilet at night by waking your partner, as the wash basins are situated outside the bathroom.

Lots to like about this hotel. Great location, excellent value for money. Staff very polite and try to make it a lovely stay. Lots of facilities . Would stay again I think

2nd time staying, both felt it wasn't quite as nice as the first time. Our Room was more tired than last time. Also the breakfast not as special, bit bland and the bread for toast wasn't as nice ( still good just not as great as it was) Has a few glasses of champagne in The Library. Waiter made a big fuss of getting the champagne trolley out, only to refill a dirty glass I used for the first glass ( buying by the glass, so expect fresh glass) and spilt it on the table and didn't clean it up- luckily I had a napkin to hand. Small detail but made the faux poshness of the trolley seem faintly silly.

Well located, spotlessly clean throughout, the staff were pleasant, helpful and responsive. Comfy beds and a bottle of water daily were welcome and the ice machine in the corridor, a nice touch. Spa looked nice, well maintained and the reception person welcoming too. We appreciated being able to check out a little later than 11.00, thank you.

It seemed difficult to ensure twin beds which was our main concern. The room needed some minor repairs which we would have expected to have been noticed and fixed before we arrived and reported them - lights faulty, the blind was broken (quickly rectified by the engineer once we asked). Having no opening window, the room was too warm and stuffy for us but the A/C didn't work (we had given up reporting faults by this stage!). The other small point was it would have been nice to have had more than one rather random herbal tea sachet, and perhaps some hot chocolate and a cookie (which seem to be standard in most decent hotels these days).

Lovely hotel and gorgeous room

I was extremely disappointed that you can only used the pool, gym and facilities when you’re “a guest” and had to pay additional fees once checked out. If I’d had known this beforehand I would never have booked as it states this nowhere online. My whole plan was to use the facilities from 10-1 on the Sunday but we got told at check in we’d have to pay once we’d checked out. You’d think for the price you pay and a hotel that’s a bit upmarket that this wouldn’t be the case. I was going to book spa treatments aswell as additional but I wasn’t going to pay to use the, as I thought, free facilities and then more on spa treatments. You need to advertise this better as it’s very misleading on booking.com

Handy central location

Breakfast in attached restaurant was poor especially considering the high price of £30 per person. Scrambled eggs were very runny and soggy as if not much care taken. I received the wrong drink and when I asked, the waiter insisted it was correct. Also another waiter "told off " my partner for asking more than one person for a takeaway cup (service was very slow and that's why we needed to pack the coffee to go in the first place!). The main hotel was fine though - decent location and staff were OK. I would advise finding other breakfast options however!

The rooms where very clean & all the staff where courteous & helpful and down to earth when you got talking to them especially in the bar

The breakfast was of good choice & good quality but unfortunately the breakfast plate’s where not hot or even warm as was a lot of the supposedly hot buffet menu we had to tell the server who was apologetic and brought my wife a hot breakfast straight from the kitchen to solve this the server was brilliant this might have been a blip on the buffet food warmer because my wife said she seen the staff turning the heat up on the hot food station . I no there is a lot of people in the restaurant at one time opening & closing the hot food lids but the food should still be kept hot at all times for a hotel of this stature . This does need addressing.

The customer service in this hotel is exemplary. I was treated well by all staff but a particular shout out to The Library Bar team who made my solo dining experience so enjoyable. I'd forgotten to pack a come so the concierge had one put in my room. My room was big, and the bed was so comfy. Water in the mini bar is complimentary.

The only niggles were that the sleeves of the robe in my room had two holes in it and the belt loop was snapped. I wouldn't expect this from a hotel of this calibre. There was also a piece of used dental floss in my bathroom which had been missed by the cleaner. Yuk!

Beautiful hotel Loved the little touches, water in lobby, breakfast buffet was fab. Nice spa area (although screaming baby in pool) Room was spacious with bath & shower. Very nice bed & blinds, artwork etc robes provided & info on tv great

Nothing too much Would have been nice to have a biscuit in the room with the teas/coffee Reception staff just needed to explain a little more about things ie spa/breakfast/where room was situated. A wired buzzing in the middle of the night came from somewhere twice.

clean, great facilities. Room was very comfortable. Very close to conference centre and Bridgewater Hall

Staff in the bar were very inattentive on the two nights I visited. Very slow service, despite being half empty. Took almost 40 minutes for drinks to arrive, no menus on display. Had to ask repeatedly if we could order. Ate at the restaurant on one night, very loud DJ set playing right next to the table. Impossible to have a conversation. Food very over seasoned (one dish was inedible due to the amount of salt). Would not eat there again. Over priced and underwhelming
