the staff are literally exceptional in all terms. rooms are big and clean, toiletries are enough and the forgot it we got it card is new and unique.

the noise level is too high between rooms, i could hear what the next room and talking about. A very disappointing incident happened after we actually checked out the hotel, we received a message that 100 pounds were deducted from the bank by the hotel!!! called the hotel and they said its for smoking!!! no one told us at the reception that we cannot smoke, we came tired to the hotel and signed the papers without reading, but what should’ve happen is that they inform us before we check in or at least before we leave the hotel in the checkout. not tell us you checked out then we receive a message!!!! thats un ethical.

Absolutely loved it - the hotel is stunning, the service is top-notch, the location is perfect and their restaurant is amazing. The free drink at social hour and the included breakfast in the green house space is so lovely. You feel so incredibly cared for at the Kimpton, it's lovely. The concierge knew we liked jazz music, so he brought a record player to our room with some jazz vinyls, it was wonderful.

The downside is that we were in a basement room that was really hot and the windows didn't open and the ac was broken. Most places don't have ac so we were excited that this hotel did but unfortunately it was broken in our room.

Beautiful hotel, the scent when you walk in was dreamy! As soon as you walk in you feel welcomed and relaxed, lots of little pockets of relaxation very large and lots of place to hang out, one place in particular the social hour, free bar between 6-7pm. Sat outside on deckchairs enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. We were on the lower ground so cosy and quiet, the bathroom was stunning overall one of the best hotels I have stayed in the uk and in a perfect location will be back again and again when I get the chance.

Beautiful historical building. Central location Great food. Spacious rooms. Very clean. Complimentary snacks in room was a nice touch

The ceiling in my room obviously had a leak from the roof above. Set the smoke alarm off a few times. Wifi didn’t work fir the entire 3 nights I stayed - but back on just as I was leaving. Day 2 asked for a cappuccino with my breakfast- but it seemed like a bother to the waitress and she didn’t even bother bringing it in the end. Music in the bar area was ridiculously loud. Could hear it up on the 3rd floor. Couldn’t even bear to go in the bar area for the complimentary drink. It was so loud everywhere at pride, I was hoping the hotel would be a quiet space.

Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They helped carry my bags for me and walked me to my room. They were all very polite and informative. The rooms were incredibly clean and of a good size. We loved the little selection box of teas, coffees and snacks and the very extensive list of items you could get from reception if you had forgotten something. Location was excellent and we walked everywhere. Breakfast was delicious and a huge selection available of continental and cooked. The hotel bar, The Refuge, was a beautiful place to have a drink in the evening and the whole hotel has the "wow" factor for it's architecture.

Unfortunately, the service at the refuge bar was a little slow but the drinks were good once you waited. There was no water in the room, but once I gave feedback over text, water was sent up to us. For a 5* hotel I would have expected all the beds to be king beds. Sadly, I did not pay attention to the bed size when booking, so me (6ft3 and pregnant) and my 6ft 7 husband found sleeping very difficult in a small double. I'd have hoped staff may have upgraded us to a slightly bigger bed once seeing our height & our booking option.

We loved everything about the hotel - friendly staff, spacious bedroom, great bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and complimentary snacks, beautiful décor, amazing breakfast. We made use of the bar and dined in the restaurant (The Refuge), which felt like a treat. In short, we didn't want to leave!

Loved everything about the hotel. For the restaurant, if you had dietary requirements the menu catered well if you required vegan/vegetarian meals, but there were very few gluten free options listed. This was surprising, as typically the more expensive the restaurant, the greater the number of naturally gluten free options there are.

Room is very spacious and stunning with two comfortable double beds in a high ceiling historical building. it was mind-bowing walking into the room. Breakfast restaurant is beautiful with good selection of food. Location is superb, we walked to most of the itineraries we wanted to go. A small bonus is that all snacks in the room are complimentary, kids loved it.

The bathroom is not most easy to use. The bathtub was a bit clogged, water didn't flow down quickly when taking shower. The separation of hot and cold water taps is really against human nature in 2023. I can see that the designer was trying to keep the tone traditional, but this should not come at the cost of user friendliness.

The room and bathroom were a good size, amazing ceiling height adding to the spacious feel, considered fixtures and fittings, really clean, the beds were comfortable, the toiletries, snacks and tea/coffee were welcome after a long day. The Timorous Beasties cushions were beautiful. As were the foyer and bar/restaurant. A server at breakfast named Eden was really helpful, friendly and informative.

On arrival after a long day the Receptionist advised that I had booked the room for one person so a standard double room had been allocated. I had booked for 2 people with twin beds which my booking.com reservation confirmed. Unfortunately she repeatedly advised I had booked incorrectly or the system had allocated the room incorrectly or this happens with booking.com and I should have booked directly. It was resolved and I received the twin room I had booked. It would have been better to focus on solving the problem immediately rather than blaming the customer/system/booking agent.

Love staying here & have done many times. Staff are always brilliant and rooms lovely & clean.

However tried the room service this time. Really not good. Took 50 minutes to arrive & was inedible as it was cold. Phoned reception who re-ordered. Our order arrived more quickly but just as cold. Appreciate the kitchen may be some way from the rooms but the food needs covering up! And to be fair, even if it was hot the quality of the food was poor - the burger didn’t even resemble meat, the bread was dry, no sauce, mine had slimy lettuce & the chips were frozen fries. Quite surprised really considering how good the rest of the hotel / service is. On the plus side when mentioned on checking out staff reimbursed us.

We loved the very spacious bedroom with 2 double beds and high ceilings in the whitworth section/building (away from the street and tram noise) of the hotel. The restaurant and bar are magnificent in the evening and there is a really good vibe. The dinner in the refuge restaurant was very delicious, tapas style. The hotel is extremely stylish. The building is glorious from the inside with tiles all the way up to the ceiling and big chandeliers dropping into big spaces. The service is excellent.

The breakfast centred mainly around full english breakfast in a buffet style and a few options of bagel, toast and jam's. There could have been a few more varieties of different foods for international guests, what about a cheese board or a scrambled egg station? Also, there is no option to park or to stop your car outside the hotel to drop off family or luggage as the main entrance is on a very busy main road with bus lanes etc.
