The staff are lovely, helpful, welcoming and courteous. Everything was ready when I arrived; the room was exactly as described and value for money was, I think, very good. There was a bath (not just a shower) in the private bathroom, which was a real plus considering the fact that it was a small room (but described as such, that was expected). Also, the room had two windows facing in different directions, which was lovely.

Because the room is directly above the bar, it did get a bit noisy after 10pm. That didn't bother me at all, but it might bother somebody travelling with a child, or somebody who needs quiet accommodation (there are two single beds in the room).

From check in to leaving everything was done perfectly - the kindness and attention to detail by Helen and her team was exceptional. I absolutely loved staying here, the friendly welcome was outstanding for a single woman traveller, it really was a truly five star welcome and the breakfasts each day were superb. Helen's poached eggs!! I really have to say I was genuinely welcomed, and during the stay I was able to spend time with Helen and felt more like a friend at the end of my stay! Helen was able to offer assistance with ideas of where to go on my free time, - I was there for a wedding but had lots of additional time to explore. She also helpfully gave me a great taxi number so I could get in and out of Manchester easily on the day of the wedding.

There really wasnt anything to dislike. The food was amazing. The Thai restaurant was not tried but looked amazing and I will def go back another time! The walk into Wilmslow was very easy and I enjoyed my stay.

only had two singles and no double bed / little noisy with music in bar downstairs but apart from that fine - would have been nice to have breakfast but had to leave too early for flight

Lovely breakfast, made by landlord's mum who was a really nice lady. Nothing was too much trouble, really good service and delicious food. Comfortable beds with pristine white linen sheets.

Very small twin room (5) with bathroom door that didn't close properly! Dated bathroom, shower difficult to get to the right temperature. Decor in need of updating, it's a long time since I saw wood chip wallpaper! Traffic noise from the road started around 6am (not the pub's fault but worth bearing in mind if you don't like being woken early)!

The cooked breakfast was excellent, really good quality sausage and bacon. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was an adjoining Thai restaurant where the food was very good and could be eaten in the pub if preferred. The location was ideal for the airport if you have your own transport. Parking was free. It was excellent value for money.

The room was clean and comfortable but rather lacking in room to put things. No bedside tables or lights. I think other rooms were better equipped but it was still very good value for what we paid.

great location as we were needing somewhere to stay before going to Manchester airport but as we weren’t flying until late the next day we wanted a nice place to spend the day before our flight. The staff at the hotel couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a beautiful Thai meal on the evening and a couple of drinks in the bar. next day we were advised on a couple of loads places to go for lunch and drinks. we will definitely be coming back!

It was more like staying in a friends house than in a hotel. The small pub under my room had really good live music with very friendly people in the audience. Upstairs I slept in a very comfortable bed, very calm. The room was small with everythin in you need, the house is old an lovely.

Lovely pub, room comfortable with all necessary facilities (and none of the unnecessary ones provided by more expensive places!), v friendly staff, excellent breaskfast.

I prefer a larger bed but that's not a criticism - mine was perfectly adequate and exactly what I paid for.

Location was perfect for visiting friends in the area. Great to have free parking. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast was well cooked and not too large. The beds were clean and comfortable and the whole place had a cared for feel.

A mirror in the bedroom would be useful for using with the hairdryer! Bathroom showing their age but clean, so acceptable

A really warm welcome from a friendly and accommodating James and his staff. The rooms were clean and warm with a nice warm shower and very comfortable beds. A great bar with a good selection of beers, and the live music on the Thursday evening was a very nice added treat. All round pleasant stay. Will definitely stay here again.
