Most picturesque Inn surrounded by a wonderful lush garden with a stream running through. Lovely lawned area with deckchairs and huge patio so perfect for those guests with dogs. Such a warm welcome from Simon and his team on arrival. Room was spotlessly clean spacious and such a comfortable bed. Good sized bathroom too. Had dinner here both nights and both meals superb recommend the pinwheel sausages and the fish and chips. Simon is a great host and gave great advice on choice of options. Breakfast hamper was also plentiful with the best warm croissants and worth the extra to include breakfast. A relaxed atmosphere in the inn where nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend and such a good price too

OK for me as I'm short but be mindful of beams if you're over 6ft although my husband managed to avoid hitting his head the whole duration

Accommodation was absolutely wonderful, bed very comfortable. Facilities excellent, facilities such as coffee and tea - locally sourced , homemade fudge - scrumptious and full of flavour. Don’t even get me started on the Hamper produce , amazing- afternoon tea awesome. We could go on. We had such a wonderful stay. Staff were welcoming and attentive making the stay brilliant . As for the chef amazing food . We will be back !!

Nothing it was perfect

Very attractive room, with lots of locally sourced items - coffee, tea, water etc. Comfortable bed; delicious evening meal, wonderful menu; lovely view over the back garden, stream and moors. Helpful, friendly staff

Nothing really; our room was directly over the main dining room so we were worried about noise as there is no soundproofing . However, luckily the last diners had left by 10.15pm and everything was blissfully peaceful after that.

I’ve had the most wonderful stay. Lisa went over and above to make our trip from wales memorable. Everything was perfect, the food was divine, my cottage was spotless and omg the breakfast basket was to die for with fresh and local produce. Highly recommended to stay here and I will definitely be back. The staff were also lovely. Thank you all for making our stay and little treat amazing. My dad is poorly so these memories were priceless.

It’s simply gorgeous.

Love the building, that's why we chose it. It's near the Highwayman which one of my favorite places in all of England. Ian was especially helpful with everything.

Their no-refund policy is really terrible. We booked back in January for an October stay. A lot can happen in 9 months, yet they were adamant that no refunds would be given, no matter how far in advance, for a cancelation. They even stated that if you did not check in during their stated hours, they may not check you in at all, and NO refund would be given! I don't know if this policy is even legal, and if it is, it shouldn't be. I was surprised at how friendly Ian and Lisa were, as this policy gives the opposite impression.

I really liked the accommodation, it was beautiful The staff were very friendly, we had our dog so we were impressed with how dog friendly it was .the food was delicious too.

Although we understand it's old , we had a really loud toilet flush which we worried it would be disturbing the people below us as well as us . As we could hear the chap below snoring loudly so knew the sound could be heard .

A beautiful 13th Century Thatched Inn, only stayed for one night but is dog friendly throughout, has a large garden with babbling brook, and the room was a lovely size with a super comfy bed. The Inn is situated next to The Granite Way which is a gorgeous walk with stunning views. would have liked to have stayed longer, the anniversary card, chocs and some treats for the dog was also a lovely touch.

didn't like the automatic service charge added to the food bill.

lovely place, friendly staff, food excellent. Couldn't fault the location which was chosen for proximity to a family gathering.

Room slightly tired, paint falling off ceiling in bathroom, however it's just fairly minor observation with me being picky. I understand the issues with a very old thatched property and keeping everyone happy,

The property dates to the 1100’s and you can still feel the history in the building while at the same time enjoying a comfortable stay. It is a wonderful property with a beautiful garden on a stream with a great view. The restaurant served delicious food and had an excellent selection of wine.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t enjoy.

Convenient stop off point on our way down to Cornwall over Easter. Rooms were big and it worked well for our family of 4, both kids had their own beds. Staff were very friendly and we had a fantastic (if a fairly pricey) meal in their restaurant. Plenty of hot water and our room had a bath & shower. It was quiet, bed was comfortable enough and the garden and views up to the moors are amazing. I can imagine eating in the garden on a warm summers night would be quite special.

The decor is a little tired in place and it's quite quirky so don't expect flat floors or walls. TV was very old and facilities are pretty basic (although there was coffee & tea making). There is no proper breakfast, at best you can pay for coffee and a croissant, slight shame given the excellent restaurant. There is a pub 1-2 miles down the road that does an "ok" cooked breakfast. There isn't anywhere to charge an electric car.
