Mary was absolutely lovely & helpful, the property was beautiful & the location was great, so peaceful & quiet. I plan to return next year, but this time I will make sure I get an en-suite, because of my mobility issues it was very difficult getting up & down the stairs to use the bathroom, especially throughout the night, but other than that I can't find fault with accommodation.

The fact that I had to go downstairs to use the bathroom during the night was problematic because of my mobility issues, but I was aware of this prior to arriving so that in itself was not the fault of the accommodation, I could have cancelled once I found out, but I didn't.

Wonderful location, lovely room, comfy bed, fabulous shower and bathroom, delicious generous breakfast… all the things you hope will be great. Then what makes it extra special are the thoughtful touches and the friendly and professional hosts. So many extra things that make your stay exceptional, for example Mary makes you your very own loaf of home made bread for the breakfast table. I stayed for several days and met a few people who had booked for one night and said they wished they had booked for longer and/ or intend to return. I hope to go back.

The host couldn't do enough to make my stay comfortable. I was travelling for work, so at times I would leave early in the mornings, but the host would always ensure I had a breakfast so she had a table all laid out for me in the morning so I could help myself to a well equipped continental breakfast!, I had a fresh loaf everyday, and being on a farm i had fresh milk aswell!, honestly i was so impressed. The shower was lovely, very clean and very modern, i looked forward to that in the mornings. My bed was very comfortable, and the room was well equipped with everything I needed.I was also given a whole pack of shortbread biscuits aswell, they didn't last long. The location was lovely a working farm and in the middle of the countryside. Good WiFi signal, so working from the room was also possible. All in all, it was a really lovely place to stay and I couldn't recommend it enough. I would definitely stay again.

Mary is an exceptional hostess, very warm & caring, and she goes the extra mile to help visitors with queries re local amenities. Brilliant food, friendly staff, beautiful area with lots of walking, or simply gazing at the scenery, and lots to explore locally.

It was a shame our lone neighbour & fellow guest decided to speak so long on her mobile phone during our first evening. Why is it that so many people shout when on a mobile? We never met her. Fortunately, she left the next morning.

The room was beautiful, spotless and comfortable. The view of the surrounding countryside and the absolute silence were so good for the soul and we felt ourselves unwinding and relaxing straight away. Mary is an absolute legend - we needed a lie-down after her delicious breakfasts which kept us fuelled for the rest of the day. She’s an upbeat, friendly person; the sort you wish you could get to know better and her warm and welcoming personality made staying here an absolute pleasure.

I honestly can’t think of a thing we didn’t like, except that we had to leave to go back to the drudgery of our real lives.

Mary was an excellent host and went out of her way to make our stay really supportive and welcomed. We were walkers and therefore needed extra help with transport and getting to local pubs. Mary provided us with lifts and valuable local knowledge of the local pathways. We were very well looked after. We had a wonderful breakfast. The only complaint was we had limited hot water for our showers the next day.

The hosts friendliness and very comfortable room

I had an excellent stay. Communications were very clear before I arrived. Signage was very clear on arrival. The location was tranquil and quiet. The view was great. The room was lovely, with nice fittings in the Bathroom. Breakfast was as requested and homemade bread and marmalade were an additional treat. Parking was easy in the Farm Yard. Near the A30 and near Okehampton which has a nice pub the Fountain and a Waitrose.

Nothing all good.

Great location, so peaceful but only 5 minutes from the main road and you feel like you are miles from anywhere. Also a good starting point to visit anywhere on Dartmoor. Great choice for breakfast, yummy yogurt & fruit compote(me) to huge full English (him), no food needed for the rest of the day! Fantastic nights sleep, super comfortable bed and so quiet.

Lovely stay in rural Devon overlooking Dartmoor.. Friendly host made me very welcome ! She made me some fresh bread for breakfast which was tasty. I don't eat cooked breakfast but there was plenty of choice with fruit compote and yogurt and various cereals . It was very clean and I enjoyed my stay, although the weather was cold and wet. Would highly recommend Gooseford farm , and for travellers it is easy to get to off the A30

The weather !!

Location on a working farm. The accommodation was cosy and peaceful, with everything needed for a short or long stay. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The single room I was in had a bathroom downstairs, but this was communicated beforehand and Mary made sure I was comfortable with that. Only stayed a night, but a very pleasant experience.

Soundproofing isn't great, i.e I could hear the guests next door, but unless you were very unlucky this shouldn't detract from your stay as was minimal and most guests are considerate.
