Location perfect for exploring Dartmoor and beyond. Breakfasts are traditional, delicious, beautifully cooked and presented and certainly wholesome! The very recent extensive renovation has made an unbelievable difference to the entire building. Really impressive! I have stayed at the East Dart Inn on a number of occasions over the past few years. I have always had a lovely time there. My stay this July has seen a massive renovation and refurbishment of the property undertaken by the owners, Karen and Ben, over the past twelve months, making it even more comfortable than it ever was. Clearly an enormous investment of money and time has been given to this extensive project with spectacular results! The entire interior now boasts a dramatic revamp with warm colours and cosy rooms whilst retaining a genuine feel of a traditional 18th century coaching house but without any feeling of ostentatiousness. Everything about my stay was perfect. The meals and food now being produced have really up-staged meals in the past. It is all home-cooked, delicious and well-priced with a well-appointed menu to suit most if not all needs and served in a delightful bar/restaurant. All meats, I am reliably informed, come from Dartmoor livestock and local butchers. Part of the renovation included moving the bar to be near the cellar. What an amazing difference! All the en-suite rooms are thoroughly clean, well-equipped and most comfortable. Accommodation prices are very reasonable and really do represent good value for money particularly when compared with prices of other similar types of venue, both locally and nationally. And the staff! Well, all are just delightful, extending a genuine sense of welcome and warmth at all times. Thank you to Karen, Ben and their wonderful staff for a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable stay at the East Dart Inn, Postbridge.

It was all perfect - nothing to find fault with.

The girls behind the bar were a delight (sorry - can’t remember their names!) The 2 things I ordered off the menu (both lunch and dinner) were quite frankly banging! I asked if the football could be put on on the bar TV, and with no hesitation, it was. And a dog friendly inn - you don’t get better than that! The breakfast the following morning was unbelievable 👌 I’m 100% coming back!

I’d have loved it if the staff could’ve made England win and given me a beautiful sunrise for my photos the following morning, but other than these 2 things, they totally delivered.

Breakfast was great, the staff were excellent with just the right balance of attentiveness without being intrusive, plus they had no problem with being flexible doing my partner something that wasn't even on the menu, it was only bacon on toast but we have found in others places that asking for something different can be problematic. The only thing that you really need to know is that we will definitely return, can't say more than that!

The only thing I would like to see is I would have liked two rashers of bacon with my full English breakfast, but I am a baconoholic.

The location and rooms were all great. The facilities were all very nice and accurate per photos from listing. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were nice and quiet. The breakfast, which was included, was really good and held in the tea room which was really nice. The pub in a different room was also really nice and had some good local Dartmoor beers.

The only two minor things was that toiletries weren't provided upon arrival and we had to ask for it and wait a bit to get them. The address also was a bit confusing. The address I was sent showed up in Google Maps as Beechwood B&B, which is a few minutes up the road. The actual location is listed as East Dart Hotel in Google Maps and not East Dart Inn, so we were a bit confused about where to go. If the address and name are updated in Google Maps it would make the arrival process smoother for future guests.

I had a great overnight stay at the East Dart Inn. Travelling across the fog-bound Moor and arriving at this ancient coaching inn was a real delight. The (reasonably new) owner and the staff were all very helpful in catering for my dietary needs - nothing was too much trouble. The bar where I had dinner was beautifully decorated for Hallow'een, adding to the atmosphere. Again, my gluten free requirements were well catered for at breakfast the next morning. The surrounding moorlands are breathtaking - all in all, a terrific stay.

This is a wonderful location, everybody I spoke to were pleasant, approachable and welcoming and the biker bbq on Monday night was great Fun,a smashing bunch of people. I was comfortable warm well fed with a grand selection of real ales and a real lager!

There wasn't anything I disliked, the current owners haven't been there long and they have a job on their hands, which they're tackling with enthusiasm and the support of good staff and the community. I will return ASAP.

Great location for exploring Dartmoor. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Good breakfast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating,

The double room we had was a bit on the small side for two people and the water pressure in bathroom was very low...

Situated in a lovely quiet area a hundred metres from the famous clapper bridge it is a very relaxing place to stay. The new owners are gradually bringing the property up to excellent standards and we certainly couldn't have got a warmer welcome. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice. It is also very dog friendly and great for walkers coming off the moor with its traditional bar and log burner.

Refurbished pub with rooms in a unique location in the middle of Dartmoor. Perfect location for exploring the moors, with hikes to Belever Tor, Wistmans Wood & West Dart waterfalls all from the village. Comfortable rooms with luxurious touches, and a great cooked breakfast included.

Lovely old building, clearly an ongoing project for the lovely new owners who gave us (and our dog) a very warm welcome and rustled us up some lovely bar food despite it technically being the chefs night off (Monday). A few little quirks that the owners know they need to sort out having inherited them from the previous people. Very comfy bed, superb full cooked breakfast and a great location. We’d stay again and we wish them well in their new venture.
