It definitely had its country feel to it, but also like we had stopped off at an American fuel station/nick-nack pub. Adored all of the pieces that they've gotten together all throughout the years to make it feel comfortable. And it definitely was indeed. We took our dog and they were very friendly with us all. It definitely had a homely feeling. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything you needed. Thank you all again and for also helping me in the morning with the ice and making sure I was okay. (Fell in the shower). The staff were lovely and very efficient. The food was also great, although it could have done with a bit more variety on the menu as some folks can be picky and wasn't too sure on the menu. Other than that. Fab!

I enjoyed excellent poached egg on toast, and buttered kipper fillets next morning. We both enjoyed ceral, fruit juice and toast, coffee served by friendly staff.

The much vaunted nature reserve in much need of urgent maintenance, and the 2 foot-bridges are positively dangerous, and should be fenced off! We could only hear and not see the water-fowl!

Location was very scenic. Our bedroom overlooked the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The breakfast was good. The evening meal was of a good quality and above average portions, which was most welcome after a hard day's cycling and walking. Room service was daily and biscuits replenished.

My only disappointment was that I, as a gluten free diet wasn't given gluten free biscuits, which would have been very good. (but not surprised that I wasn't) The check out time was too early (10am) I propose that 11am would have been a better time for us as we were rushing a bit after breakfast.

Idyllic spot. The pub is also a wonderful mini motor museum so there's lots to see and look at. Fabulous walking on the doorstep. A friendly welcome and nice evening meal. Proper pub grub. Our room was a little tired and dated but spotlessly clean. Thank you 😊

Nothing. Maybe time for new bedding with a nice duvet and pillows but definitely not a deal breaker.

The Fat Lamb is in a beautiful location. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a TV and free WIFI. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. We had the homemade steak pie and chunky chips and it has to be one of the best meals we have had for ages. I would highly recommend staying and visiting all the castles close by!

Lovely pub with friendly staff. room spacious and the bed was comfy, ok selection of tea/coffee etc. Food was delicious. Dog friendly bedrooms as well as generous pub size where dogs are welcome and you can eat too but there is also a dining area where dogs aren't allowed. Location was good for us as we were exploring the area, stunning views from the bedroom window.

Bedroom could do with modernisation for the price.

Amazing setting, very quiet and a lovely walk around the nature reserve. Fantastic staff, very efficient and friendly. Fabulous food, quick service.

Room very, very small and tiny TV which meant my deaf wife could not read the subtitles. That's it as everything else was excellent.

A really friendly quirky pub/hotel in a gorgeous location. There are several public footpaths from the door. The hotel was genuinely dog friendly. It wouldn't suit anyone wanting modern furnishings and facilities but has enormous charm.

Some rooms are noisy if the bar below opens late and is busy. If you need to sleep early avoid these.
