the location was great, being a few minutes walk from all the main restaurants and attractions. has a good bike storage and the breakfast was lovely. staff were friendly and it was excellent value for money
we each only had one small pillow, so had to improvise with cushions. the lights in the bathroom would flicker badly and the room was a little ‘rough around the edges’

The breakfast was appreciable. It will be good to have fruits added
The sink in the bathroom was small and too close to the glass slab above it. This made brushing of teeth a bit uncomfortable.

Very friendly staff, always polite and helpful, the location is absolutely perfect, 10 mins from the beach and bus station, probably quicker if you moved faster and a very friendly cat, ours didn’t but some have a sea view
People say on here the decor is a little tired, it probably needs a little bit but it doesn’t detract the fact that it’s a very good deal when staying on the Isle of Wight, nothing bad to say if I’m honest , remember it includes breakfast, if you want the ritz your going to pay a couple of thousand for your stay and you won’t actually get anything more than what you’re getting here

Room was comfy.Cleaned & checked every day.Friendly, happy staff always ready with a smile.Breakfast was just the job, plenty of choice.Even a vegan option.Licensed bar if you wish to stay in & chill out in the lounge.Always someone available to ask if you have a query. Most enjoyable.Well obviously
I honestly cannot think of something i didn't like.I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.A bit of a niggle & it's not a slur on the hotel.but just to advise future guests that may be elderly or disabled is that the top three rooms 34,35 & 36 are reached by a narrow flight of stairs & some may find them difficult. Not a fault of the hotel it's just how it is.

The hotel was conveniently situated within easy walking of the town centre and beach. Room was a little small and the bathroom was cramped but overall it was comfortable. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices for starters and main course and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The very hot weather meant you had to open the bedroom window while sleeping which meant you could hear any road noise. The shower did not work properly just emitting very hot water all the time. Access to the rear car park was quite narrow and you have to walk around the hotel to get in to the front entrance.

We arrived having had a bad hotel experience elsewhere to be greeted by Wendy, who was really welcoming and helpful. Dave, who took over from Wendy, was really helpful recommending a good place for Sunday lunch. Dave also makes lovely marmalade and especially made 6 jars for us on the day we departed. Michael and the whole team were brilliant. The room, the Victoria Suite, was so comfortable and was serviced every day including fresh bottled water and replenished tea and coffee. I highly recommend this hotel.
Nothing. All good

A nice comfy room on the 2nd floor with great views over the town and across the solent. Worth the climb up the stairs! Room was well serviced with plenty of bathroom products teabags etc. Breakfasts were generous and delicious. Hotel was convenient to bus stops shops and restaurants.
Wifi was a bit up and down though good in my top floor room. Bathroom was small but accurately described as compact at booking! Shower was tight and water pressure and flow weak but it did the job for a small person...

Good location, bus stop 1-2 minutes walk, efficient service, quick answer to the guest's messeges. The room and shower was clean. The bed is comfy (I have a sensitive back). Breakfasts were pleasant. Summary, I think the place offer a good value for money.
Towels could have been cleaner or rather newer, but were OK. Suggested to take your own (if it's important to you). The window frame was really old, and badly insulated - but because of the season it was OK too. (I don't know, maybe the room can't be booked in winters - it's worth a question.)

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was bright and cheerful despite being lower ground level. Has its own bar. The home-made marmalade - was able to buy a jar to take home. Breakfast was well cooked. The cost of the stay was very good. It has a very good location.
As it's quite an old building, there was no lift. I found it hard to read the settings on the shower. The sausages in my breakfast had a strong skin so was quite hard to cut. The bar closed quite early.

Good B&B with no pretentions to be anything else. Although not a sea view room, the view of the eastern side of Ryde was lovely, especially with the sun in the morning. All staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The bathroom is small, but that is made clear before booking and it is manageable. I couldn't get back into my room on one occasion, and was told there is a problem with that particular lock, there was a knack to using it. There is a locksmith in Ryde who should be contacted.
