Really good breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Good location and room was clean and tidy.

Parking was limited, which we knew before we arrived. We asked for a space which was provided but getting into it was a little tight because of vehicles parked across the road. Not a huge issue but we have a small i10 and someone with a bigger car may have had more difficulty.

We have stayed at the Florence for the past 10 years and the new build of the garden/breakfast extension rooms was brilliant. Such a great, light, airy space. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very professional. Our room was large, well decorated and a comfortable bed.

Difficult to fault, but as the ceiling is pitched, there are built in wardrobes which are not very tall, so unfortunately my dress wouldn't fit in (evening gown) so I had to hang it on the back of the door. There was a full height mirror which was great, but this was the only one and to plug a hairdryer in, the plugs were behind a sofa so it was a bit awkward. But these are just petty comments, nothing spoilt our stay.

As room only chosen option it was ultra contemporary but incredibly cosy with lovely attention to detail such as bed cushions, a desk and chair with make- up mirror. Colour and design detail of room light and airy. Firm and comfy bed. Plenty of tea, herbal tea, coffee in room; Nice to have a hotel run pub opposite the hotel which was modern and clean too.

Lack of evening meal options so ate at the hotel run pub, whose menu outside didn't match the menu offered. Food nice with very fresh salad and lovely presentation but for a gastro pub (as advertised) the choice was limited. Bathroom space was cosy but could have been a challenge for anyone not slim.

A well located hotel which we used so that we could easily access Portsmouth Ferry Port the following day. There was secure parking available just off site, the price for which was competitive. Our room was very comfortable although we had to climb up a few flights of stairs to get there. TBF the polite staff member who accompanied us to our room (all staff encountered were friendly and helpful) offered to help carry our bags. We had an evening meal at the hotel which we enjoyed and the included breakfast hit the spot. The hotel seemed pretty flexible about leaving our car in the car park the next day so that was a nice touch. The beach was literally a 2 minute stroll from reception and it was nice to have a walk along the seafront reviving pleasant childhood memories. Would happily stay here again

Nothing really. The hotel pretty much lived upto its advertising and to the reviews we had read

Bedroom was spacious. Liked the style/decor. Cleanliness was good Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Warm.

Couldn’t shut bathroom door properly. Cold tap on the bath was loose. TV was too small for the room and had a poor signal at time. Lack of plugs. There were 2 plugs by the coffee table but one doesn’t work so I had to crawl under the table to unplug the kettle to charge my phone. Mattress was a bit firm for me but obviously personal preference.

Lovely hotel in a lovely location - nice and quiet in a residential area Room was huge! We upgraded to a King Size room with a separate shower cubicle in the bathroom - Victorian style Breakfast was excellent - a proper full English….I had the Vegan option (never had Vegan bacon before!) Tea / coffee, water and fruit juice for us

Parking! Not so much a dislike, just the nature of the area and it was very tight to pass by other cars in places - not anyones fault. We were very lucky to get a gated parking space out of the way

Stayed 2 nights. Location in small street just behind the beach/rock garden area was great. Restaurant food excellent as we did eat evening meal there. Very good variety on breakfast menu, although this was not included in room price. Car parking (at extra cost) directly outside - very convenient. Staff very friendly and helpful. The outside eating/bar area at the weekend was very busy but not a problem noise-wise as our room was in separate building.

Room very compact but comfortable and adequate. Bathroom very small but adequate and did have toilet cistern overflow problem which we dealt with and only reported on leaving. Excellent shower.

Only 10 minute walk from King's Theatre where we were going for a gig. Nice pub opposite which opened till midnight so we got a drink there after the show. Bars by the theatre were packed. Comfortable hotel in a lovely old building with a lot of charm, lovely room, breakfast very nice. Parked in a reserved spot so didn't have to worry about parking.

Nothing really, water in the room would have been nice and not a fan of instant coffee but otherwise all good.

The hotel is an attractive property and the Garden Restaurant was ideal for a warm summery evening. The pizzas cooked on the premises are very good. I experienced a couple of problems during my stay; bedroom toilet had a faulty flush which was handled pretty quickly by member of staff, and there was chewing gum on the cushion I sat on at breakfast, which again was reasonably dealt with by staff.

My double room was small but okay for single occupancy (did not need 4 pillows and 3 cushions!) Lots of noise from the restaurant below and other residents outside my door and above the room late in the evening. Tea and coffee supplies minimal and had to boil the kettle on the floor to reach the nearest socket.

Glad that they had parking for guests in a gate (though a bit of a tight squeeze) and the room on the first floor was very nice for our one night stay. The location was only two blocks from the shore for a nice walk and near several attractions.

The reception area for check-in was rather chaotic being in the midst of a bustling restaurant and the hotel areas are a warren of halls and passages, but once you find your way it isn't a problem.
