I liked the position as it was close to someone we were visiting but also it was easy to walk to the beach and it was very close to the open commons areas. I also liked the swimming pool. The choices for breakfast were great although I was not so fond of the coffee but that would be a personal choice as others were drinking it. All the staff we dealt with were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and we both liked the shower which was great.

I was a little disappointed that they had no tourist information leaflets about places and activities in Southsea and Portsmouth as the tourist information office was quite a walk away on The Hard. I also had a problem with the television as I am deaf and it was not possible to have subtitles but I know that this would not be a problem for the vast majority of guests.

Staff were mostly friendly, especially bar and breakfast service staff. The room was fairly comfortable. The breakfasts were great, although timing is key to get a soft fried egg! Location makes visiting local attractions easy with most being within walking distance.

Extra £5 a night for parking, which is also limited (but to be fair, this is highlighted in the booking information). Although the room was comfortable, it was a bit 'tired', and as the ensuites are quite small, accessing the bath to use the shower can be a bit hazardous for those of us of bigger build!

Very well situated - minutes walk into Gun wharf, short drive into Southsea. Fantastic pool and gym. Food was was excellent. Bar/lounge area is really decent size and suitable for people of any age. Small table and chairs and games for children and young people in the bar area makes it really welcoming to families (thank you, my daughter appreciated it). The room size (families) is excellent. Quiet at night (weren’t disturbed by anyone coming and going). We used to stay at a big name brand other local Portsmouth hotel, but since finding Holiday Inn we haven’t looked back. Looking forward to coming back next summer

The bathroom was small

Good location for old town Portsmouth & Southsea. Good choice for breakfast and it was quick and easy, event though it was busy. The staff were all really helpful.

The car park was full, which we expected, and reception gave us a parking permit for the road, which worked well. However, we took advantage of moving the car when we saw a space the next day, but we were on our way out and we had forgotten about needing to let reception know to register our car, so we're expecting to get a fine. Once we realised that evening, reception were great and have helped with what to do, but maybe clearer reminder signs could be put it in the car park?

The room clean well presented and functional. Breakfast was excellent especially as two of our group of six are vegan. They were very happy. The location was chosen for our wedding anniversary because of the parking facilities both in the hotel and on the surrounding roads. All the staff were efficient, very welcoming and friendly . Nothing was too much trouble in the arrangements for our anniversary celebration which was held in the hotel

As in every hotel/chain etc. we stay in there is not a decent light near a mirror for make up

Hotel very clean all the staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was huge shower very powerful water always hot . Lovely location great walks for our dog . I would highly recommend and would def return. All the staff in every dept was magnificent through out our stay. So friendly and helpful food also was fantastic.

Our massages in the spa was booked for 1.15 pm but got a text at 1.05pm to say she has to cancel so we was very disappointed as was looking forward to it , had we been told in the morning or a bit earlier wouldn't have minded so much so found that a little unprofessional.

Its in a good position for familys and couples to enjoy the pool and beachfront, also has a lovely breakfast buffet

The bathroom is very small and and the bath itself was smaller than alot of hotels ive stayed at for better prices, also would be good to see priorities over paying customers staying and people there for a training course as looking for a parking space in a small car park filled with people just sat in there cars waiting whilst i had to pay to park outside on the main road paying nearly triple in price only to see they give some sort of voucher when you check in but doesnt matter because you have to pay online unless you carry change but wasnt offered any sort of reinbursment to help when told front desk i had to park on main road.

Fantastic room. Spacious with AC (needed since we're in a little heatwave right now!) and a freshly refurbished bathroom. Huge comfy bed with crisp white linen. Staff were friendly and helpful, and explained how we could have breakfast conveniently as we had our dog with us, so couldn't go into the main restaurant. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and hot too!

I could only book one night as it was booked up! Had to go somewhere else for the second night of my two night stay. (This is understandable as I booked late, and there's a pride festival going on nearby this weekend, so everywhere has been booked up!) However this isn't a negative about the hotel in any way... Just a negative for my weekend personally! 🤣 One little thing... I think the onsite parking should be free. (The registration of your vehicle is a great idea to stop non-patrons taking advantage though!)

Rooms were very good and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant offered a range of meals that we could all choose from and, although we didn't use them them the pool facilities looked good.

The hotel have very limited parking, and while we were given permits for the street parking, these could have been well away from the hotel. The lifts stated that they were 8-person lifts- it is very unlikely that more than 6 persons could comfortably fit into them. Also at check-out time the lifts were too busy meaning we had to struggle down the stairs loaded with bags. I must say this did not spoil the stay.

Location was excellent, Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to check in earlier than expected as our room was ready when we arrived. The room itself was a decent size and clean, felt very welcoming.

I have no major issues. My only feedback would be that there were a couple of holes/dents in the bathroom door and wall that probably just needed some filler and the chain on the main door of the room didn't quite meet properly enough to use. Minor things that would take a couple of minutes to rectify and were potentially just missed during cleaning or inspection. This did not affect the enjoyment of my stay here.
