everything in the property was immaculate, well presented and comfortable. I’ve stayed here before in a different room and I’m pleased to say it was a fantastic place to stay. this will be my first choice of places to stay the next time I’m in the area. I never recommend anything as people have their own tastes but I highly recommend this place.

The room we had was very spacious and fresh, the large bed was very comfortable and cosy. Lots of storage for your clothes etc and lamps in the room which is great!! The wet room was clean and great quality shampoo & conditioner, towels smelt fresh and soft. Loved the idea of a lounge sitting area, very modern as well as the kitchen area they are both large, although we didn't use them this time. Overall fantastic and great value for money for what you get and the location.

No tea/coffee facilities in our room, something i like to wakeup to, although there is in the kitchen apart from that no other complaints

Loved the self service breakfast and kitchen space. Room was clean and comfortable and fit for purpose with nice little touches like a fan. Other guests were friendly and the place had a community feel, almost like a hostel but with private rooms, so could keep to yourself if desired.

Basement room backed onto another property's garden so I could hear people outside very close to the window. Couldn't open windows or curtains without feeling overlooked. Would have appreciated net curtains or some kind of frosting on the windows for when I wanted natural light to get dressed.

I like that, you can use the kitchen during your stay. There is plenty of tea and coffee for guests and cornflakes if you want a quick breakfast (this is a room only hotel). The location is in an up and coming part of town with lots of good pubs, and independant cafes.it is close to Southsea commom and the seafront. Good comunication from the host in advance of the stay

The drench shower did not have enough pressure to work properly. Also a mirror in the room would be helpful to do makeup / hair while the other person uses the bathroom

Very clean,well decorated & up to date,private bathroom with towels & toiletries. Warm & comfortable. A couple of reviews mentioned the hostel feel but I personally I like the feel of a hostel without some of the issues you can get. Great set up & as a solo working traveller ideal.

Noisy traffic although it’s likely to have been a couple of boy racers,screeching tyres & noisy exhausts,can’t blame the property but irritating! The bed was comfy but quite low.

This is my second time at Blue Star House and i love it. For people on a budget its great because of the shared facilities. Kitchen and laundry room is well equipped, and a joy to use. The hostess may not be visible but she is always a text message away, and ready to help if you have a problem. I would highly recommend the Blue Star House

Just noticed the wetroom ensuite looking a little yellow on the grouting, it could do with the grouting redone. Clearer instructions for the gas ovens...

Well located; excellent facilities; outstanding communal areas. The lodgings are a self entry facility with no Reception or duty staff but all creature comforts are catered for with a good deal if investment evident

The curtains in the room were hanging off the rails spoiling the overall appearance of the room; pillow cases needed ironing and added to the slightly unkempt appearance. Hallway lighting did not function so going to and from the ground floor was a fall risk. Generally a great place for overnighting or longer but unfortunately marred by above issues which could be easily corrected. I can't understand how such a good product could be let down by such lack of attention especially the lack of stair lighting. If broken then a short note of explanation would have gone a long way, other guests were more upset than us.

This is always my first choice of accommodation when ever I visit Portsmouth. The way of checking in and gaining access to the property and room, which are via touch keypads, I think is brilliant saves the worry of losing keys or cards. There’s somewhere I can secure my bicycle to down the side of the property. The various rooms I have stayed in I have always found spotless. Where it is located is on a one way residential street so there is no traffic noise to disturb my sleep. Easy walking distance to shops and places to eat. For all I know, don’t think I was, I could have been the only resident because it was so quiet.

There’s nothing I didn’t like about the property.

This residence is accessed with pin codes so no need to worry about keys. You have access to a kitchen with a cupboard which is marked to your room number. There is tea and coffee in the kitchen.Room was clean and had a wet room. Hair dryer in room. Quiet location near shops and Southsea Common.

Parked across the road from Clarence Pier It was about £13 for 24 hours and took coins as there is no parking.

The room and shared amenities were clean and everything worked well. The hostel is very quiet, and most residents are responsible and respect the rules and procedures. The shared kitchen is well equipped and clean.

The 'wet room' arrangement is not ideal as the whole floor is wet after the shower is used. I followed the procedure in the kitchen of putting recyclable packaging, etc in the appropriate bin but some people can't be bothered, and thereby spoil others’ effort.
