The attic room had a view of the river, it was quaint and full of character and had everything we needed. The pub is a great example of how pubs used to be before they became sterile, sanitised hellholes or a Wetherspoons, or both. We had lunch in the bar and the highest compliment I can pay it was it was like being transported back to being 10 years old and having tea at my nan's. The steak and stilton pie and the steak and kidney pudding that me and my other half shared were absolutely top drawer. Oh and the two girls who appear to single-handedly run the entire place did so with a charm and ease that I honestly thought was a thing of the past until Saturday and whoever their boss is they should get on his or her knees with handfuls of cash, chocolate, and Wowchers and beg them to never leave. We're going back on Saturday and I can't wait.
The Darby n Joan club who were on the table next to us who spent their entire meal plus about half hour either side whining about everything from dogs in pubs to the price of a cup of tea! Getting old is a privilege denied to many and it's a shame some people don't appreciate that fact.

Breakfast wasn't on offer but we were recommend to use the Haven cafe, which was excellent. I don't know the reason for no breakfast offer but we were aware before we arrived that breakfast was not offered.
Only minor issue was that the room we had had a small bathroom, the shower had no grab rails so we chose not to use it, the basin plug allowed the water to escape. There was nobody on hand to speak to to alert them of the issue before we left

Tidy, peaceful, big, quiet, cozy and charming Pub Hotel Room. With private bathroom, towels, nice firm beds and lots of pillows Honest price. Very Kind and professional staff. Shame of the Food for dinner. We expected a bit more. We booked for 8;00. Arrived punctual. Kitchen close at 8;30 that Friday(eastern) The starter was nice, even if a toast of bread for 2 people was not enough to share ( Salmon&prawn timbal) And the mains were on the Horrible Side. The Scampi were very small and frozen, as for any bag you can buy on tesco, lidl, etc... and the fish of the day, COD, was also frozen stuff similar of the one one you can buy frozen on the places mentioned before, and seemed to have been defrost/cooked in the microwave. The Mash Potato was very good, but they also microwave it, :(...the bechamel sauce was nice though... And then, the biscuit cheescake was Nice. But for some reason the table behind Us ( two lovely old folks from England.), the got a massive portion of this cake, while Ours was rather small. ##Service was Kind with Us for the whole dinner must say, and Always there, :). Bottom Line: I REALLY RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO STAY, but if nothing changes, Better Go get Your dinner/lunch somewhere else,.
food, as stated before. :)

The room was quite large twin. Comfortable beds towels supplied. Ensuite quite small but had a shower with nice hot water that i used, more than adequate. Honestly really exceptional for the price. No breakfast included, but we knew that beforehand. Found a nice little cafe, 5 mins round the corner, open on a Sunday.
The bar closing at 10pm. Did not affect stay as we were still able to drink elsewhere and access hotel, again we knew about this though.

Friendly helpful staff, great location. Good atmosphere and lovely old building with comfy bed. Full of character.
No secure 'garaging' for bicycles (despite confirmation otherwise) but the carpark is tucked away and quiet, but staff are very helpful.

Great location and a really beautiful old pub. The real ale was very good indeed. My bedroom was basic, but was grerat value for money with a comfy bed and a nice view of the river.
There was no breakfast, the only downside to an otherwise excellent experience at this lovely old pub.

This is a cosy pub, very dog friendly, with excellent food and a welcoming host who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.
