View exceptional. Food and beverage very good. Rooms good standard but double bed mattresses very firm and also all the pillows. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely quiet location. Room 211 was very comfortable as was the king bed but the fan on the roof of the bar/restaurant which belongs to the hotel was noisy most of the night unfortunately. Had it not been for the fan noise I would have rated this hotel exceptional. The double rooms with sea view are very quiet the only draw back is the very firm mattress and pillows. This really is a unique characterful establishment and I highly recommend it.

Very firm double bed mattress and pillows. Noisy fan on top of pub/diner.

Staff were friendly helpful and polite. Breakfast was included with cold buffet items and toast to help yourself. There were lots of options for this and several cooked breakfast options also included in the package. Filling up on breakfasts kept us going all day. Evening meals in their pub/restaurant over the road were very good. The chips were superbly crispy outside and light and fluffy inside. The pea and mint soup deserves special mention. This was a 40th wedding anniversary and we both enjoyed our stay. Great views from the breakfast room.

The duvet was a little heavy for me for this time of year. However I'd rather be too warm than too cold and you can always turn the top of the duvet down to cool off a bit. The lift was out of action but we had been warned of this when booking. We were only on the first floor so not really an issue for us.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable, although the en suite was rather snug. We only had breakfast there, but it was exceptional, as always. We had to go through the kitchen to the restaurant (lift not working) and Elouise was really helpful and made the whole experience enjoyable. It's a quiet area with good views over the bay and near to all the major places to visit. The hotel itself is quirky and some would say a little old fashioned, but we like it's charm.

A shame the lift was broken, so that we couldn't use the sea view room we originally booked, as my husband can;t do stairs. However, once the lift is replaced, we couldn't say there was anything to dislike.

Beautiful location above the bay, lots of easy free parking, two pubs on doorstep & walking distance to boating lake to get open top bus to Broadstairs. Really good shower & comfortable beds. Tea, coffee, biscuits & water in room. Everything spotless. Really good, delicious breakfast in lovely dining room. Decor all in keeping with the quirky building. We had side sea view & across fields with horses which was lovely. Staff were all really nice. Can see why this had good reviews and lots of repeat customers.

Room was a bit small but perfectly comfortable, en suite bathroom was really small. Both forgiven as room was very clean with good beds and shower so the basics all great & with the drinks in the room and the fab breakfast it was everything you want from a hotel.

Lovely & clean. Good facilities & the staff were excellent. I was taken ill in the morning with a back complaint & the staff were so helpful & made sure I was ok until the ambulance arrived. My partner was given another room as we were only supposed to be there for one night. And I finally got out a day & a half later. But as I said the staff were absolutely wonderful & couldn't have done more.

My only disappointment really was that because my partner didn't know when I'd be coming out of the hospital she had to keep the second room open till teatime on the second day & was charged about half the full rate for it. But at the end of the day they are running a business not a charity so I can kinda understand that.

It was a very nice small room for my son and I as we were on a bike riding stay over. The room had everything we required, comfy beds, clean wash facilities and wifi - plus sockets for electricity. We appreciate that the build is old and did not have a/c - but that did not cause an issue as windows can full be opened as well as potable fans provided.

Nothing - we really enjoyed our stay. When booking, we did get the impression that is was right by the sea/coast and accessible which it was not. But a short walk say 5mins, the coast is there. So not a major issue.

This hotel is trying very hard to be decorated and brought up to date. The views from the terrace and bar are great.

When a business is clearly doing it's best to attract new customers - such as us, it is a great shame that a group of people - possibly workmen, were allowed to drink in the bar; becoming more and more raucous as alcohol was consumed while couples and other guests tried to enjoy a bar snack. The language and volume became so bad we asked to be moved to the restaurant to finish our meal. Someone needed to speak to these people asking them to quieten down or leave.

the second time staying at this hotel before travelling back to Europe on the ferry from Dover to Calais .it has a big car park and the hotel is very well run, Breakfast is very good and served freshly cooked by a very attentive and nice lady. You need to time it well if your working to a timetable as it breakfast is quiet a meal.

Nothing , that we or the hotel could change, the weather the night before was very bad gales and rain, we would have like to eat dinner at the farthest of the two pubs across from the hotel but they stopped taking orders for food at 20-30.hrs. but we had a good meal in the bar belonging to the hotel, but it does lack atmosphere .

Nice freshly cooked breakfast . Hotels pub just across road . Lovely views across bay . Food very nice and fairly priced . Nice walk along seafront to Ramsgate for the slightly more able .

Lift out of action which we were told about months before travel . We were only on floor 1 but from breakfast room in basement to our room was 46 stairs . Must be a serious or expensive problem to be remedied. No local bus stops or shops near hotel . But taxi into Ramsgate was only a fiver if you don’t want to drive .

We found this hotel 11 years ago and were initially drawn to it because it genuinely has car parking facilities for guests - an actual, decent sized car park on site. The hotel itself and its situation delighted us then and continued to do so in our recent stay. We felt welcome, we were comfortable and well fed, and the friendly and cheerful hotel staff looked after us brilliantly. There is easy access, on foot or by car (or bike) to many local or not-so-local places of interest.
