The food was absolutely delicious, they obviously take pride in providing excellent quality meals and the staff were all extremely friendly, polite and helpful.

The room we booked was above the bar and it was very noisy, the Pickled Parson staff are obviously aware of this as they did have a little box in the room explaining it's an old building and they've tried their very best to sound proof the rooms but at busy periods it can be noisy so they provide complimentary earplugs. The floor in our room did make noise when walked on, but again this is due to it being an old listed building

Lovely, comfortable bedroom, nicely decorated and furnished. Lovely outlook over the village green. Excellent location, amid the beautiful village of Sedgefield- a village with lots of character, another good restaurant & local independent shops. Excellent breakfast , beautifully presented. Great bar and very very friendly and helpful staff. The Pickled Parson is a lovely, relaxing place to stay.

Tv signal was a bit random- a loose connection I think. Would have liked maybe a lighter option for breakfast, such as pastries, yoghurts, fruits.

Lovely room, nice restaurant, nice bar, lovely outlook over the village green. Comfy bed and pillows, nice and quiet, slept really well. Great tea tray complete with Tunnocks!

Nowhere to put towels or toiletries in bathroom. Pre-selecting breakfast the day before. It would be nice to be able to self-serve cereals/juice etc . Last orders at 10.30 pm Saturday night.

Nice staff very friendly. Lovely waitresses for evening meal and breakfast. Comfy bed. Good tea/coffee/biscuit set.

Needs a paint job now I think. Areas looked a little marked which made it look dirty although it wasnt. Room one. Other than that lovely. Noise from pub and road to be expected but they supply ear plugs. To be honest it is not that bad.

Lovely quaint rooms like a boutique b and b. Clean and well equipped with tea, coffee etc. clean towels and bedding. Excellent food and staff.

If i had to be picky I would say I would prefer a king bed and still water in the room. For the price including breakfast though it is really good. Can pay the same for a motorway hotel and so much better. Maybe water pressure could be better but it is an old building so expected.

It was all lovely. Ate in the restaurant at night. Had a drink in the bar and then had breakfast the next morning. The bed was really comfortable and some of the best pillows I’ve ever used. The food was great.

Just a few small things really. Struggled with the sink in the bathroom as it was small. Would really benefit from a little shelf in the bathroom and a light above the mirror in the bedroom.

We travelled up for a family funeral. Every thing was excellent. We had a brilliant much needed nights sleep. Bed was so comfy. My poached eggs were perfect and my husband said best breakfast he’d had. Everything was excellent. We would highly recommend it.

Nothing it to like. Fantastic stay. Thank you

Lovely room with plenty of space. The beds are comfy and the pillows are plumped so you don't feel like you're sleeping on a rock! Felt more like a cloud. Adorable little touches in the room and the tunnocks wafers are a plus in our book. Breakfast is included in the rate which you order the nigh before and was a perfect sausage sandwich for me and a full English for my partner. There are a few other choices on the menu you can choose too. We ate downstairs in the restaurant and the food was delicious and good value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The village itself has 3 other pubs, a few takeaways, there's a couple of shops, a cafe and an Italian restaurant. Be warned that on a Sunday they stop serving food at 5pm and this is the same for the other pubs and it's just the Italian what's open later. So, not a big deal but something to think about if you stay after a Sunday like we did.

There is no air conditioning or fans in the rooms. The room we stayed in got very warm and though we kept our windows open the whole weekend it didn't cool it down very much(it was a rare sunny weekend) So it was quite stuffy at times but it was manageable. This is the only thing we didn't like about our stay.

The breakfast was very nice Hotel lovely and clean Set in a perfect spot with about a 15 min walk away from the race course

The only thing was breakfast served a bit to early as 9 am last serving which is a bit early when you have gone away for a relaxing weekend but this would not put me off returning
