Lovely well maintained pub. Good choice of food and drink. Very comfortable bed rooms. Plenty of parking and good rural location. Friendly staff.

Breakfast in the morning was painfully slow. No buffet choice of juice or cereal meaning everything came from the kitchen bit by bit. It could be so much quicker. Staff in the evening not particularly sharp. Things requested ie drinks were slow and just not on point. Then you get a service charge applied which to us is not in keeping with a country pub. It’s easy to walk to the bar a few metres away and buy a bottle of wine or drinks and save the 15% you are charged.

The room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was extremely good with a really good choice of options. We didn't eat dinner here so I can't comment on this aspect. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the prices for the dinner options were astronomical which led to us eating elsewhere. There was also quite a limited choice of dishes. If there had been a bit more choice, and at a more reasonable price, we would definitely have eaten here on two of the four evenings. The cost of the room was also quite expensive but it was the height of the school summer holidays.

I booked the hotel for me and 3 colleagues who were visiting a local manufacturer. The location was ideal, close enough but not on the doorstep. We were joined for supper in the restaurant by the manufactures and looked after very well. We all had a very comfortable night sleep and a hearty breakfast whish set us up well for the day ahead. All in all the pub could not have looked after us better. I will use you again the next time I am visiting. Thank you.

We were looking for a night cap after supper but everyone had disappeared!

Everything was beyond excellent. The check in process was quick and efficient. We had a very minor issue with the room we had booked whereby we had asked for a twin but go a double made up. This seemed to be more of a booking.com comminication error rather than the venue itself. But it was very quickly rectified whilst we were out for dinner. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. You can really tell that they use good quality products. And it was nice to see some locally sourced products also. Venue is delightfully decorated and the rooms had everything in them that you could possibly need for a short stay. We will definately be back :-)

Food was excellent, we ate breakfast and dinner. The breakfast was a varied selection of cereals or cooked food. The dinners were cooked to perfection and a reasonable selection.

This is a dog friendly pub, dog owners in the main were considerate of other guests, but a couple insisted letting their animals sit on the furniture, which they are asked not to do, but then that's not the dogs fault.

The hosts were very pleasant and helpful, especially when I forgot to mention I was allergic to feathers - they moved us to a different anti-allergy room straightaway and without any fuss. Both rooms were comfy and cosy and spotlessly clean. Lovely shower and fluffy towels. There was an Italian restaurant attached to the pub which had a lovely atmosphere and seriously good pizza! The place is really handy for Westonbirt Arboretum and the pretty town of Tetbury.

Breakfast was really good quality and presentation but personally I would have liked a bigger choice of cereals and some fresh fruit. However, this is a small point, and what we had was delicious. As a tea drinker I would have loved a kettle, as the Nespresso doesn’t make great tea.

This is a lovely pub with rooms. The restaurant offered high quality pub classics with a good wine list (and plenty of wines by the glass). The rooms were cosy. Breakfast was excellent. But the highlight was the staff, all of whom gave the impression that they genuinely cared that we had a good time.

Breakfast is cooked to order and can be a little slow as a result. We didn’t mind at all, but it’s something to bear in mind if you’re in a hurry,

Great restaurant with more refined pub food. Nice bar area for relaxing at the end of the day. Off street parking was good but busy on a Saturday night. Plenty on street parking too. Great to be in a small village away from the busy towns but Tetbury very close for an evening out with a few restaurants to choose from. Room was small with a tiny shower but adequate. Good WiFi. Waitress at breakfast was very good and we were able to choose a mix from the breakfast menu. A great stay. Easy drive to Bath or Highclere too.

Be aware that the rooms are up some narrow stairs and corridors. We were in the roof area which was fine for us (and great for watching the stars out the skylight) but we decided to only take up the necessary items from our luggage to make it easier.

The staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The property is old but has been tastefully restored to allow a good sized modern shower in the eave's bedroom allocated to me. There are two flights of stairs required to reach the room which contained a comfortable bed. The property provides a very tasty pizza evening on a Monday and a very appetizing and beautifully cooked menu on the remaining days. The village of Shipton Moyne in which the property sits is an attractive village with an interesting church but no shop as far as I could see. The location is very convenient for visiting Tetbury, Westonbirt, Highgrove and Malmesbury, all of which are within 5-10 miles of the Cat and Custard Pot.

Given the limitations of an old building I cannot think of anything that could be improved upon.

First impressions - Welcome and check in were very good. Paul welcomed us and immediately set the tone for the rest of the stay. Francois was equally as accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you for providing an early breakfast of cereal and yogurt for my husband who was running the half marathon at Westonbirt on the Sunday. Food was simply delicious. Evening meal on the Saturday was very good. However, the star of the show for me has to be the Sunday roast (beef) which was exceptional, beef, perfectly cooked and tender, potatoes properly roasted, veg al dente, the best I have ever had in a pub. Compliments to the young chef, fantastic! The Neapolitan pizzeria was authentic, delicious and very good value. Room - Home Guard: Although the room was on the small size, layout was good, the bed was huge, pillows and bedlinen were very fresh. Shower was also very good. Great coffee machine with good coffee.

Room- Home Guard: what a shame, suffers from constant, infernal noise and smell of the kitchen extraction units from morning until 22:30 ish, although it does shut down around 21:00 on a Sunday! No view and certainly not conducive to enjoying a quiet, country village. You couldn't have or want to have either the windows or Velux roof light open for long. I'm beginning to wonder if Booking.com reservations always end up in the worst rooms? Second room in two months with this outlook. I would certainly stay again but in another room away from extraction units where you can open the windows and enjoy the views
