Breakfasts were excellent with a variety of hot food on offer as well as the usual "continental" type of of food. The evening meals were also first class with a sophisticated menu and a willingness to adapt them to cater for our particular needs. The service was swift and delivered in a friendly manner. The staff are very friendly and willing to ensure one's stay is comfortable.

When we arrived we were worried about the steep staircase to our room -(we are in our eighties!). But our cases were carried up for us and brought down at the end of the visit. We managed the stairs, but older people should know about this. It is an old and beautiful place and we loved staying there. There are two ground floor rooms.

Good choice of cooked breakfasts. Restaurant very popular and worth booking even for a Monday night, good selection on the main menu and daily specials menu and very satisfied with all meals taken. Room was very clean and fresh and the bed comfortable. Nice old pub with low ceilings and great to find that locals still call in for a drink after work. Attractive beer garden which is a sun trap. Cheerful and obliging staff.

The smell of cigarette smoke did drift round into our room, so had to keep the window closed, which wasn't a problem for our stay but could have been a problem in high summer.

An old building with corridors, steps and corners. Lovely bright rooms with super-soft bed linen. Room and bathroom spotless. Lots of friendly, efficient staff throughout. Sensibly priced menu in large restaurant and bar areas. Interesting daily specials. Even though we arrived at end of dinner service they found our group of 4 a table and provided fuss free service. Extensive choice in the bar and lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the country feel of the pub areas. Overall a professional, welcoming and happily non-pretentious place to stay. Lots of places to visit nearby.

OK for us but the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are a bit steep. A handrail both sides would give a greater sense of safety for less agile guests.

Location nice and quiet, easy to drive to with large car park, although entrance to car park is quite narrow between two buildings, check in was a nice surprise the receptionist showed me to our room and took me to the residents lounge that had free Costa coffee available. Evening meal was as expected and breakfast as good as any we’ve ever had. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The beer garden is very spacious with an outdoor bar.

Nothing, although some people don’t like dogs being allowed in the dining room, but this won’t stop us from using this pub again in the future.

Perfect country inn situated in a large village close to the Sandringham Estate. Facilities catered for everyone - 3 well maintained public bars used by locals and visitors. 2 Restaurants catering for guests who either have or do not have a dog with them. Menus changed each day and make good use of fresh seasonal local ingredients. Safe and pretty walled garden area with a large play area for children. Huge car park providing safe parking.

Only a slight point but if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room that is not facing the road as the beer and other deliveries start at 7 in the morning and can be quite noisy. We were in “The Old Office” which was straight above the front door.

Excellent breakfast, room(s) clean, modern and very comfortable. We used the restaurant in the evening and that was good too. Good atmosphere, great pub, great staff, and obviously a great venue for local use too. Would like to certainly stay here again if ever this way and they let me! Lol

Meal in restaurant was good but thought it needed to go up an extra notch for me to say excellent! Im probably just old n grumpy about rising prices but found the house curry, and fish pie good meals but at a price I would have expected a smidge extra in quality, but no complaints just observation as the food was hoovered away!

The charm of this old pub cannot go unnoticed. Inside although full of period features, it offers a comfortable dining and drinking experience serving pub classics but with some fine additions to the menu. Rooms have everything you need, comfy beds and staff are very welcoming and attending. The breakfast was also lovely and cooked to order together with a small buffet serving good quality basics. It was a shame it wasn’t warmer when we stayed as the garden was also looking very nice and welcoming. Lots of greenery and our room had a view over the meadows. And dog friendly…Will be back !

Breakfast was extremely good; good selection of breads and cereals, juices and fresh fruit. Extensive hot food menu, placed order with waiter and cooked to order. Tea and coffee brought to table. Nothing was too much trouble; if you wanted sauce on side -fine, a bacon sandwich- fine.

Lovely guest lounge with couches, tables and chairs and local literature; tea/coffee facilities; baskets of teas, different coffees, ideal place to sit and plan your day….but sometimes no cups or water. Quickly remedied when requested though. Possibly the lounge isn’t used enough.

Lovely old place with spacious, clean rooms, superking beds, large bath or walk in shower. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and there was a huge car park at the rear.

A lot of guests brought dogs. The only real complaint was the limited dinner menu. Poor choice and overpriced. I ordered the chicken tikka which was really a dish of vegetables with a few bits of chicken thrown in for £18.00, not worth it. The pub a 2 min walk away had a much better choice and prices, but didn't do meals on a Sunday evening. My vegetarian daughter had even less to choose from. Breakfast was mediocre. Not overly generous on the full English, one sausage, one bacon, half a small fresh tomato, one small black pudding, beans, hash brown, & egg. The eggs Florentine were hard in the middle. A limited choice on the buffet selection. I would recommend this hotel for a stay but find somewhere else to eat. I suggest the R&C take a look at the menu for the Queen Vic for inspiration.

Very friendly and yet professional staff. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I even noticed that when having to turn away customers, due to being full, it was done in a very professional manner and in a way that I thought engaging and produced a positive outcome towards another visit

Even when they got our restaurant booking muddled we felt happy the way it was handled, no negativity! Couldn't fault anything. Perhaps the only thing was the tea tray in the room was a little bit small & unsteady
