A lovely building and plenty of outside space Room was lovely Friendly staff

The food at dinner was disappointing. The fish overcooked and the paella more like a risotto Not keen on dogs and we were unaware our room was in a a dog friendly space .

Location was superb. Excellent place to be located to reach all the local North Norfolk must sees. 5 mins drive away from Drove Orchards with the famous Eric’s fish and chips, pizza, ice cream shop and a new excellent taco place. 10mins walk round to Old Hunstanton beach which happily for our dog was dog friendly and large stretches of sand so plenty of space for the whole family. Breakfast was really good, simple selection but good quality, hot food was hot and fresh each morning and cooked well. No complaints at all. Staff were friendly and helpful. Staff were doing maintenance around the hotel grounds daily which is always great to see that they are putting in the effort to maintain the property to a good standard. Lots of cleaning, sweeping and everyone we passed greeted us in a friendly manner. Cleaning of rooms were done to a high standard.

Rooms could have been a little bit bigger but it was fine for a couple of nights stay where we spent a lot of time exploring the local area. Our main priority was a good location and dog friendly which the hotel was perfect for on both points.

The hotel consists of a set of very pleasant buildings, mostly on one level. Our room was large and comfortable with a fully-functioning bathroom attached. Breakfast was satisfactory with just about enough choice. There was a good menu for dinner in the evening, and the quality of the cooking met our expectations and hopes. Old Hunstanton itself offers only one other good eating option. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Some were clearly still learning their roles. Parking facilities were excellent.

With one good exception there were no other restaurants or cafes within walking distance.

We've stayed here on a number of occasions. Location is perfect for exploring this part of Norfolk and you rarely need to use a car because of the excellent Coastliner bus services. There is a bus stop within 5 minutes of the hotel. Rooms were perfectly adequate for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was good and restaurant an attractive and welcoming place. However, the stars of the stay were those who attended us at breakfast - always smiling, time to chat to visitors without compromising efficiency!

It would have been helpful if the rooms had a wardrobe of some sort to hang up clothes but even though we stayed for 3 nights it did not present any problems,

A unique Hotel & beautifully decorated, clean & tidy throughout, efficient & friendly staff couldn’t do enough for you, felt very welcomed. Our room was stunning & comfortable. All meals serviced in the restaurant were very good. Great location & short stroll to the beach. Your hanging baskets were stunning 😍too.

Found the bedroom got very warm 🥵 during the night but can’t be helped as we were staying during a mini heatwave. There was a fan in the wardrobe & we did bring one of our own too. It’s Probably not worth getting mini air conditioning units for each room for the occasional hot spell.

Fantastic staff. Very polite, friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. Loved the crisp white bed linen. Nice powerful shower, as well as a bath. The room was tastefully decorated. Nice areas to sit outside. There was no noise at night. I was a bit concerned we might hear dogs barking as it's a paws friendly hotel, but the rooms for people and their four-legged friends are away from the rest of the accommodation. The breakfast was plentiful and good, but it was the only part of the stay that wasn't outstanding. It was good that they did veggie sausages. The restaurant in the evening was wonderful. Nice little touches like candles on the table and your seats being pulled out for you. The attention of the front of house staff was perfect. My husband had scampi one night and homemade chicken Kiev the next, which he said were excellent. I was very impressed with the vegetarian options. I had roasted celeriac the first night, which was incredibly flavoursome, and one of the best veggie mains I've ever had. The veggie curry was delicious. However, the key line posset was without doubt the best dessert I have ever had. It was perfect. The presentation of all of the food was excellent. The location was perfect, with a short walk across the golf course to the beach. We will definitely stay again.

Having to come home!

This was such a lovely stay for my husband and me and our dog. We've stayed at places before that say they are dog friendly, but really, they just tolerate dogs. Caley was really properly dog friendly. There was even an outside dog shower. Our room was perfect for us with a dog, as it had its own entrance straight out onto the outside space and had a deck area in front of the room with table and chairs (room 27). All three of us were made to feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for the excellent and attentive staff. The whole place was super clean, and the room and ensuite were perfect with a big very comfortable bed (superior double). The food was good. There was a really comfortable bar area as well as the lovely restaurant and outside space . We felt so relaxed in the wonderful atmosphere and surroundings. Caley is in an excellent location, just a ten minute walk to Old Hunstanton Beach. Turn left out of the hotel car park, walk down Waterworks Road, through Smugglers Lane, and a short path across the golf course. The beach was stunning on our 7.30 am stroll before the wonderful breakfast. Thank you, everyone, at Caley. We will definitely be back.

The room was great, we had 2 dogs with us and the room was perfect. Really spacious! The staff were so friendly, the location was perfect. We didn’t have dinner there but the breakfast was delicious.

I booked on Booking.com after selecting hotels that allowed dogs. It was only on the way to Norfolk that my friend saw on the Caley Hall website that they have to be notified if you have a dog.We called the hotel and luckily they had one room left that we could use. It would’ve been a nightmare to get there and find we couldn’t stay. The lady on reception thought it was amusing she said it happens all the time,it turns out only a few rooms allow dogs but they don’t make that clear. We had a lovely stay but it could be e been a disaster

The staff were very helpful friendly and professional We had the superior double room and the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. It was immaculate. The breakfast was superb with a huge variety to cater for all. The location was perfect and we had very little disturbance from other guests. The resturant was very well organised. The hotel was run like a 5 star hotel..I would most definitely return in the future. The car park was well kept clean and tidy.

There are a few improvements that would enhance the hotel but I cannot say I didn't like anything. Perhaps a do not disturb sign on the doors. An upgraded modern T.V with better quality sound. A redecoration in the bar area may help to highlight the wood beams. Some sort of music or entertainment . I am just rambling but i was very satisfied and completely relaxed after our 2 night stay.

Staff were welcoming, friendly and very obliging. Lovely fire with comfortable sofas in the bar area which made this a lovely place to relax. Lovely menu and food for dinner and superb breakfast.

Our room was cold when we arrived back each evening so we were very glad that we had taken water bottles so it wasn’t a problem. With beautiful carpets on the room we were very conscious of the need to remove shoes before entering the room especially as it was very wet during our stay. We were glad to have some newspaper with us to stand the shoes on. I think provision needs to be made for this. A drying room would also be useful
