Nicely presented room with some good extra touches (choice of bottled waters, chocolates, quality towels etc.) Staff were very friendly and welcoming as soon as we were checking and this continued throughout our stay. Food was very good and we really enjoyed our meal despite being busy , we thought the service was fine and we were informed that there might be a wait for food, which if there was we didn't notice !!! Would have no hesitation in coming back. Absolutely and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Minor observation....didn't notice if it was possible to control the rad temperature in bedroom. But as I said minor observation.!!!

On arrival parking was easy, the location was well suited as a break from a long trip from Scotland, on arrival Lucy was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome, food was great! locals were friendly and added to the welcoming atmosphere during the evening, local beers on tap were delicious and went very well with the gourmet pub grub, we were lucky enough to have a musician turn up and provide entertainment whilst enjoying the local brews and the jovial atmosphere provided by the very friendly locals. Recommended as a respite from a long drive providing great accommodation with huge bathroom and lots of little extras that made our stay, Oh, and not to forget that the pub is dog friendly and rooms were far enough away from the pub noise to allow for a early night if needed.
Not being able to stay up all night and enjoy the entertainment, beer and friendly locals as I was tired from a long drive.

We stayed for one night at the Dawnay Arms to attend a wedding nearby. We had an extremely warm welcome and was taken straight to our room and then had some lunch and drinks in the bar. The room had so much more than we expected - still and sparkling water, biscuits, a bedtime chocolate mint, dressing gowns, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, several towels. The room was really nicely decorated, very clean and had the "traditional pub" feel. We had to pre-order breakfast the day before which was not an issue for us but some may find a little annoying. Breakfast was lovely with apple/orange juice, cereals, tea, coffee and then a full English or whatever you wanted. The whole place had a lovely welcoming feel and we really enjoyed our stay!
If I was being fussy, the wardrobe in Room 2 is a small clothes rail which if you were staying more than 2 nights could have been a bit difficult but it was fine for us.

Beautiful rooms, well equipped with tea, coffee and milk, toiletries, bathrobes, lovely towels. Beautiful bedding and a very comfy bed. Quiet location. All very clean. Furnished to a high quality. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to other travellers.
We had just booked the room, we hadn't realised we needed to pre order breakfast as an extra before our stay. Easily rectified as plenty of places nearby for a breakfast. possibly my fault rather than the hotels. Only mentioning it so people can pre-book if breakfast is required.

Nice location, easy for access to Scarborough and York. Food is lovely and staff friendly and welcoming. This was our second visit and it has recently reopened after refurbishment and is also under new ownership. It will be good to see what the full menu is like once fully up and running next time we stay. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie!
Really minor, but would be nice to have teaspoons in room rather than disposable stirrers and perhaps a lighter weight duvet now it is getting warmer. These did not impact on the stay as these are just a personal preference.

The breakfast was good. Quickly prepared and as requested. The accommodation was exceptional. The Inn had been refurbished and was tasteful, clean and warm. The evening meal was very good value and freshly prepared,
I cant think of anything negative to say. It was a country pub and family run. The landlord very accommodating despite being short staffed. We made allowances for the wait for our meal. it was excellent when it arrived.

Was close to where we we're attending a concert, room was much better than was expecting from the downstairs, breakfast was lovely. For price we paid would say good value for money
Felt very odd when coming back in from concert as the pub was closed, had to come in by a side door no lights, we're told about no lights outside, but would have expected the indoors lights to have been left on,

Great position. Friendly staff and locals. Food was excellent, along with cask beer. Lovely room but over front door so noisy at times.
No internet which seriously hampered my work. I felt £88 For a single person was a little high, particularly as breakfast was not included. (£15 extra, even for a bacon roll)

The recently redecorated room was fantastic. The access was a little odd, up a staircase running past the kitchen, but no problem.
The breakfast could be improved with a better selection of cereals, including muesli, yogurt and some fruit. The cooked food was OK but the bacon was rather dry.
