Nice clean hotel nice friendly staff although the young man that checked me in wasn't as chatty as last time I stayed there but was friendly

Was looking forward to a nice bath but the taps didn't work. Shower was ok but hardly any pressure

Pleasant, helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. Room spacious and clean. Nothing was too much trouble.

Could do with a bigger, clearer sign at the hotel entrance. Especially for those arriving at night.

We phoned the hotel to give them estimated time of our arrival as we live in Cornwall. When we arrived, we were greeted by polite and friendly staff. We also ordered food as it was a long journey for us. Their room service was exceptional. The staff were attentive, they make sure you have everything you need. Breakfast service is also great, staff checks that there is enough food and they roam around to make sure you are okay. The room was very clean and the bed was big and very comfy! Definitely great value for money. Cheers Hamlet Hotel, you made our visit to our loved ones more special. We will definitely stay there again!

Price through Booking.com was very good. A decent breakfast was included.

The hotel is a tad tired but that was more than offset by the price.

Wow, what a difference a new proactive manager has made to this hotel. We had previously stayed at the hotel pre-covid on a number of occasions and had seen the decline in the building so where very presently surprised on the improvements that have been made since we last stayed. Refurbished, clean and comfortable rooms, with new carpet, bedding, T.V's etc. The general ambiance of the property was very welcoming as were the helpful, polite and informative staff. Breakfast was buffet style, delicious and hot with plenty of variety and I had one of the best curries I have eaten in the restaurant for dinner one night. The manager was a delight to speak with and actively sought feedback from guests so that he could continue to improve services. All in all, an excellent stay, and great value for money and will be our first choice on returning to England and Kent.

Location was excellent for both appointments I had made in the area, with easy access to the motorway. Easy parking and trees in the garden helped obscure the road. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The superior room was enormous, pleasant and comfortable and had a good view over the front of the hotel.

A local Kent or Sussex beer/ale choice at the bar would have been nice. Furniture a bit outdated in the room but at the price I paid I did not expect anything else. In fact not replacing the perfectly adequate furniture is more sustainable so a big thumbs up in my book.

My room was nice. It was warm, modern, roomy, the bed was comfortable and the TV worked well. Good tea and coffee provision. An iron which worked perfectly and a clean ironing board also provided. There was lots of hot water for a bath and the taps ran well. I got a very nice welcome at reception and the staff were friendly throughout. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and everything cooked well.

Other members of my family stayed also at the same time in different rooms and theirs were not up to the same standard as mine. The shower in my brother's room was just a trickle and my other brother's room had stains on the floor of both bedroom and bathroom. My room itself was very clean but would have to say the bathroom wasn't 100% sparkling - the odd hair lurking. The carpet in the main corridor downstairs had dirty footprints on it all the way to the rooms, which didn't look particularly good.

Stayed here along with 2 friends on the way to Dover. & from the minute we arrived, it was just what we needed. Big car park, Friendly checkin (I couldn’t understand the electronic check in, & staff helped me). The welcome drink was a nice surprise. Beds were comfy, slept well & there was a bath, not just a shower! Breakfast was great, too. Loads of fresh fruit & granola (a personal favourite) and full cooked buffet. And all included in the price. In fact - liked it so much we re-booked Hamlet Hotel for our return journey!

The breakfast window closed early (8.30am) But othwise no issues.

Basheer was extremely helpful with organising accommodation for our wedding guests and dealt with complex changes and requirements. We were also pleasantly surprised to have the poster bed suite (named after our venue!) Also the complimentary welcome drink was a nice touch.

The bad reviews I feel are unfounded. There is a slight hot water issue in our sink (but shower worked fine) due to low pressure. It works if you wait a few seconds. Yes the hotel is not a brand new character less motel. It has its quirks and is still in process of restoration but in view of COVID aftermath let's support this valuable local asset.

The property is Amazing, nice and Staffs as well for us the what I like most is the staffs they’re always helpful and good vibes, even they don’t know about something, they looking for it or google for. The transport during the new year is completely desastre and unfortunately without car is not a good place to stay because is a bit far from the transport, and isn’t safe you walk until a metro station, but you can ask for a taxi for us cost 15 pounds every day considering a return.

Not close to public transport, but if have a car or rent one I have to say is the best place to stay.
