Very pleasant, it exceeded my expectation, excellant value for money

No hot water for a shower in the morning - fault reported and staff were very apologetic.

The staff were extremely helpful and polite I couldn't fault them. The location is perfect so central about 3 min walk to the train station and it's right by all the bars and restaurants. The room was clean with everything needed for an overnight stay I'll definitely be booking it again

Comfortable well presented room. It was a very cold day and the room was pleasantly warm. The staff couldnt have been more helpful and welcoming 12pm check out time was great for a Sunday lie in and that's the same time Sunday dinner started. The Sunday roast was excellent and very well priced with the additional 20% due to staying in the hotel. Great location in town center and very well priced.

The shower room needs updating but it worked fine. Milk in the room for tea and coffee would have been great - if we had asked I am sure staff would have assisted.

We parked at a carpark nearby which was around £13 for 24 hours, we didn't mind as we were aware of no parking on site and thought the price was okay. We arrived early and had a few drinks at the bar, with friendly service. The room was basic but as expected, basic facilities available. Expected the hotel to be really loud on a Friday night but nothing was happening that night so was quite relieved. Hotel was only a 2 minute walk away from the train station that took you straight to Cardiff so was really ideal. Lots of shops and places to eat around if you needed this too.

Room and bathroom could do with a spruce up, a bit more of a deeper clean. £71 still a bit expensive for just 1 night in a very basic hotel, but it did the job for what we needed so not complaining!

Exceptional value for money. I had a cosy single room in which everything worked. I had a good night's sleep and in the morning a piping hot shower followed by a cooked breakfast. The staff especially Theresa were very helpful. The hotel is being decorated and upgraded which makes you feel it may be more expensive in the future. Bar also had a good atmosphere.

The hallways are a bit of a maze so remember the way to your room especially if you come in late. Also not much parking in surrounding streets but plenty of car parks due to city centre location.

The hotel itself is lovely, very interesting and brilliantly decorated throughout. Looks like it's been completely re-decorated very recently. The bed was really comfortable and the shower way hot and powerful. The staff were excellent, amazingly attentive and friendly.

The breakfast was disappointing. All overcooked, looked like it had been sat on a hot plate for quite some time, the beans were a pile of mush, bacon and sausage like leather. It was a shame because the evening food looked great and we'd read good things, obviously a different chef for breakfast. There also wasn't any choice, it was a full English and nothing else, that said, we didn't ask for anything different but a menu with some options would have been great. It was the only thing that let the hotel down really.

Great location for the train station and the city. It was a newly refurbished room which is much better than the dated rooms on our previous two stays. The showers in this hotel are some of the best we have experienced in hotels. Very helpful and approachable staff. A big improvement on previous stays.

On arrival, previous guests had left belongings in the room which meant that we could not check in. The hotel had also been let down by cleaning staff, leaving just one cleaner, making the wait even longer. The room had been recently refurbished and the smoke alarm was still masked up and no refreshment station, meaning that drinks had to be made on a side table which wasnt really suitable. It is noisy in the early hours of the morning when the club closes downstairs but you have to be aware that this is the hotel you chose and youll have to expect it.

Location,staff are very friendly. Comfortable beds with a nice shower. We were in room 12,sleeps 3 and was a pleasant room. It's a reasonable price. If we come to Newport again which is unlikely, we would stay here.

Absolutely no parking,we ended up paying 17 pound for one night. That's not the hotels fault though.

Very clean, comfy bed. Could of done with the tea making facilities being topped up before we arrived but was obviously just an over-site Freshly painted so clean walls etc Fantastic price Literally two minutes walk from the town Would definitely go back Staff really lovely
