A beautiful and secluded countryside location with walks in all directions across the farm's land and onto a network of footpaths. The double room was enormous, with views out across the farm. We were the only people there; they only allow one room to be booked, unless you are a family group when you can have the double and twin next to each other. Robert was a wonderful host who was flexible, welcoming and hugely knowledgeable about the area. He was happy chatting with us whilst he prepared our breakfast in the large kitchen. The two dogs were friendly too and it felt like we were house guests rather than staying at a B&B. We didn't get to use the summerhouse which was equipped with bed, music, fridge and firewood, but will the next time we visit. It is exceptionally rare for us to give a 10/10 rating, and Walnut Tree Farm now stands as the new benchmark for other places to try and match.

The farm is in a lovely peaceful location down a long (if a little bumpy) track. The room was spacious and comfortable with a very large bed, and a private bathroom. Robert and Joanna are most charming hosts. Robert's breakfasts were excellent and varied with lots of home-made produce, and our food intolerances were well catered for. The garden studio was a nice alternative area to while away a few hours, the farm is lovely to wander around and there are walks direct from the grounds. We'll definitely be returning.

That we couldn't stay for longer!

The owners were very friendly and have shared with us useful tips on local walks, places to eat and visit. Breakfast was of excellent quality and the hosts were creative by preparing five different breakfast types each day of our stay, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options for me and my husband. A lot of food was sourced from the farm like fresh organic eggs, apples, walnuts, home made preserves, granola etc. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay at the B&B. We have loved using the summer house with views over the hills and the friendly dogs.

What a magical place! The hosts were absolutely lovely, welcoming us and making us feel at home right away. The house itself had a cozy atmosphere, with small, thoughtful details everywhere, making our stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Robert showed us around the farm, prepared a wonderful (Welsh) breakfast for us and made sure that we used the summer house for a barbecue with a beautiful sunset view. What an amazing experience! Our girls had the best time with the two farm dogs, missing them sorely after we left. We highly recommend this beautiful place!

Absolutely fabulous stay at Walnut Tree Farm. Beautiful house, great facilities, very spacious & comfortable room, amazing bathroom and idyllic location. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and nothing was too much trouble with everything cooked or prepared to our preference. Robert and Joanna were the perfect hosts. Very welcoming, attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was just perfect. A real gem of a place and cannot recommend highly enough. Would definitely return to take further advantage of the location and beautiful surroundings. Thankyou so much :)

Nothing could be improved. Completely faultless.

Here, you would feel like a heaven...very quiet and relaxing place with a great view where you can enjoy your own healing time. It is very elegant house with many antiques with extra place called "summer house" - we've spent some time there to enjoy sunset, drinking wines. Owner Robert and Joanna are very kind and warm-hearted so that both myself and husband felt like at home. Besides, two puppies Bundle and Purdy are so adorable and cute...made us very happy and smile all the time. I attended a conference in Newport (Casnewydd) and needed accommodation nearby. Walnut Tree Farm exceeded all my expectations. Robert and Joanna were the perfect hosts, super welcoming, bara brith (so delicious!) and other wonderful things for breakfast, the room was beautiful, the bed was cozy, and I fell in love with the super friendly dogs (especially little Bundle). I definitely want to come back for a longer stay, Thank you for making me feel so at home.

The only thing I didn't like was that I had to leave!

Lovely fresh fruit salad, fresh apple juice from their own orchard. A Full Welsh breakfast cooked to order at a time to suit our needs, including laverbread and Bara brith . All the while with Robert being charming and entertaining us with local information.

Robert and his two adorable dogs greeted us upon arrival and immediately made us feel welcome. He helped get our bags upstairs and gave us all the info we needed. Robert also makes a delicious, large breakfast (be sure to ask about the black pudding from Usk!) and is great for conversation, especially tips for the area. We didn't meet Joanne until departure, but she was also lovely to chat with. Bathroom and bedroom were very comfortable and homey; I especially liked the large bathtub.

Our only mishap was a miscommunication about how to get to the nearby pub. It involves walking down the hill and through the fields along the river to a footbridge. Neither we nor Robert realized there would be unfriendly cows in the final field!

Our two night stay was wonderful. Jo and Robert were great host. The breakfast was faultless. The house was lovely and best of all, our family loved walking and playing around the land surrounding the house. A great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We were only 5-10 minutes drive to pubs and restaurants. Newport and Cardiff was also quick and easy to access also.
