Lovely lady greeted me at the property, very friendly. The self contained small bedsit chalet like accommodation was very clean and bed (3 singles) was comfortable. Plenty of hanging space in 2 wardrobes. Sitting area and flat screen TV on wall. Microwave, toaster, kettle, refrigerator (but not freezer part) and hairdryer provided. Nice touch of bread, butter, biscuits,cornflakes and porridge in cupboard. And tea coffee and sugar and a bottle of milk. Walk in wet room shower with toiletries provided. So very thoughtful.Also a convection heater on the wall for cooler evenings. Location is in a small village, 20 min. drive to Newport. Very convenient for me visiting family. On the whole a very nice stay.

A lamp by the bed would have been good, instead of getting out of bed to turn off main ceiling light. I couldn't open vertical blinds. Pub next door was a little noisy when people were drinking outside but hey they were enjoying themselves. Parking difficult, small car park, popular pub.

Really nice well appointed staying lodge comfortable and good facilities. Excellent value for money.

Parking difficult on arrival as the Pub was very busy for meals and therefore the car park was full. However this changed and spots opened up as the day wore on. Did not in anyway spoil the visit.

Easy access to attend a concert in Cardiff I was unable to attend due to hurting my ankle, my friends went as we had tickets for a concert in Cardiff, Helen was very understanding and offered me a refund without me having to ask. The girls had a great time, thank you

The owners are excellent and great fun . we were welcomed in the pub by everyone and the food was excellent too . It’s also near the train station for a 20 min trip into Cardiff . The mtb and walking is also on the doorstep and excellent too. Thanks Castle Lodge for a great stay .

A lovely place if you’re just looking for a basic room for a few nights. The staff and locals were very friendly and welcoming. Very convenient for our trip into Cardiff. Will definitely be looking to come back next time we’re there.

Fabulous place to stay. Clean. Comfortable. Warm. Nice touch leaving the crumpets butter and jam for breakfast. Also fresh milk and orange juice in the fridge. Couldn’t fault it. Beds we’re really comfy.

As a dissabled person it would be better if it had grab rails and a stool in the shower.

I do not normally leave reviews but on this occasion I have to. From the minute we turned up to the minute we left we were made totally welcome by the hosts and the locals in the the inn which included a lift in the pouring rain to the train station. The accommodation was was spotless clean and equipped with everything you needed. I would just like to thank the hosts for a great stay and hopefully return soon.
