The staff at the Alderley Edge are fantastic, every single one of them are down to earth kind and could not do enough for you. Id recommended the stay just on the staff alone. The grounds are beautiful. The restaurant and bar are very pleasant and not overly priced.

The beds are like concrete, I have never had a worse nights sleep on a bed in my life. The room was clean mostly, but the fridge was filthy and parts of the bathroom had not been cleaned properly. The lamp in my room was held together with tape (I mean come on replace the lamp that’s just ridiculous) The room for the price you pay is just okay, it’s nothing to write home about.

The staff were wonderful and very welcoming. The meals were good and well presented. I liked that I was able to take my dog, and although not permitted in the dining room, we were seated in the very comfortable lounge for my meals.

The bedroom furniture was very old and worn, and my bed was particularly uncomfortable. It was badly made up. Sheets were wrinkled and not tucked in at the bottom, so I had to remove the duvet in order to tidy it up, but I was unable to smooth the very lumpy mattress. Refurbishment is in progress, so hopefully, things will be much improved if I stay there again.

Overall, the hotel was as expected. We had stayed there many years ago, when looking at properties to buy in the village, which we did. The ground floor facilities were excellent: the reception, lounge and dining areas are very well presented and provide a fresh and relaxing environment. And the ample car parking was most welcomed, as the village is even more crowded these days with cars that parking elsewhere would have been problematic. The attentiveness of the hotel personnel was very good all round. In particular was Sam; who went above and beyond expectations, he was very courteous, kind and helpful.

Not really a “didn’t like” issue. The receptionist did apologise in advance for the room allocated to us and explained that this was due to my spouse requesting a pet-free room. The room itself was very compact and it would have been difficult for a pet/ dog to accompany its owners. However, you do have a room for people who have such a request. Many other establishments cannot offer this. perhaps if others also make a similar request, you could indicate that is it a compact room.

We had such a lovely stay at this hotel. Everything about it was fantastic. The hotel is stylish yet warm, welcoming and comfortable. I specifically looked for a pet friendly hotel and this didn’t disappoint. There was a lovely garden to take the dog and plenty of dog waste bins. She was allowed in the lounge and they set us up in the lounge for dinner and breakfast. The room was nice and big, well furnished and immaculately clean. Each day the room was cleaned to such a high standard. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. We will be back!

Nothing!

Excellent location very close to the centre for bars and restaurants, delicious breakfast and very welcoming and friendly staff

Some bits are in need of better maintenance, the handle on the shower in room 15 was broken and sharp, the taps on the bath were missing the top part, the bath panel had water damage and was swollen. Despite the blurred window I feel like the bathroom still needed a blind as the window pointed onto the beer garden.

We liked everything, staff, hotel, food was delicious, rooms were very good and well maintained, comfortable beds.

Stingy with the bathroom products and biscuits in the room. The shower was very difficult to turn to warm/hot, in fact I nearly scalded myself this morning as I could not turn the shower off. I had to ask my husband to help. There needs to be a non-slip mat in the bath as again that was a safety aspect when showering.

Staff were fabulous. From front of house to waiters. It was a wedding we stayed for. The wedding breakfast was excellent. Couldn't fault any staff at all

Hotel room was very small. Bed side tables were literally against the bed. Couldn't have glass of water on table fear of definitely knocking anything off in the night as they were so close! The tiles around the bath needed attention and the door to the room was not in good repair at the bottom. It was very clean but definitely needed TLC.. due to size of room and attention it needed I did not think it was value for money.. expected more being as it was in Alderley Edge

We loved the atmosphere at the hotel. The staff are friendly and made us feel really welcome. The food and drink are of a good standard and overall prices are in line with other restaurants in the area.

We would have liked daily housekeeping however when we asked for refreshed toiletries the staff were really quick to help so no problems overall.

Egg not fully cooked. Hash browns tasted as if they had been cooked with detergent. Toast ok

Room size was far too small to be classed as a double. Room smelt like damp and sewerage. Storage was inadequate and top shelves were inaccessible for a shorter person. Also the hanging height of the open wardrobe was not enough for a medium length dress. Very uncomfortable to try and sleep without windows open and fan on all night even though the outside temperature was not high. Waste bin liners were so cheap and thin that they tore very easily. Bathroom was the only decent facility but had an unpleasant smell.

Staff were courteous and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Helped with bags to and from the hotel. Good food was served in the bar area and the ambiance was very Christmassy!

The size of the room was small, and noisy revellers above me one night, kept me awake until 4am. Not what one expects from such a prestigious hotel. Noise of others using bathrooms and slamming of doors in the early hours.
