The breakfast was adequate and the shuttle worked for us once out of two requests. The bed was good and the room facilities were also adequate. We booked a rental car from the hotel at a great rate and the vehicle was very good.

This property is desperately in need of a make over. The staff do a great job with it but the facility itself is very tired,

It's not a modern hotel, but it was more than adequate for our two night stopover. I loved that they provided a shuttle service for free, we were picked up from the airport, the next day taken to downtown and picked up again, finally we were transferred to our next hotel. Breakfast was also included, I hadn't expected that. There is a great value restaurant next door.

It isn't walking distance to downtown, but I knew that from the maps, but it didn't matter because they provided a shuttle service for free. I was more than happy with the facility, but some might find it a bit old. It's a motor inn, not a fancy hotel after all.

Free, punctual, friendly shuttle service from airport to motel and willingness to provide shuttle service to restaurants, shopping areas, etc.., upon request, which more than compensated for the location of the motel. Wonderful hot breakfast. Of the 12 nights spent away from home, our one night spent at Merrill Field Inn was the best night's sleep (very comfy bed), and the most economical rate (half the rate of downtown hotels). Bathroom amenities were provided. Front desk was friendly and helpful.

We were looking forward to walking to the Chinese restaurant next-door, which unfortunately was closed on the evening we were there. Certainly not the fault of Merrill Field Inn. The only other alternatives within walking distance are fast-food.

Good morning, Merrill Field Inn, Thanks for making our short visit to Anchorage a comfortable and personable experience. This first time to Alaska, two nights at Merrill Field Inn to get acclimatized and to look around the city before cruising down to Vancouver, turned out to be exactly what we needed and made possible, not only with great accommodations, but with the personal attention of all your excellent staff. I never figured out who was in charge, who was responsible for breakfast, who cleaned the rooms, who did the maintenance, etc. It was just a friendly, efficient and, I have to say again, “comfortable” experience. However, another “best feature” of our visit was the free airport pick up after midnight and the “quite a few” additional free shuttles all over town and a return to the airport later. Our first driver (let’s call her “Lilliana”), even at the late pickup hour gave us a welcome introduction to the city, while our other driver (probably a “Dave”) took us wherever we needed to go, with a great attitude, good advice and everything you would expect from a friend or relative whom you had not seen for a long time; and the wheelchair was never a problem. So, the Merrill Field Inn: good room, accommodating staff, very nice people, and where we would stay, “if we ever pass that way again”.

Picked this motel for several factors, the most important being the price and the 24x7 free shuttle that picked us up at the airport at midnight. The van drivers and reception staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We also used the free van to get back and forth to downtown.

The room smelled a little musty at first, but we were able to air it out pretty quickly. The motel is old, and it shows, but our room was clean, everything worked, and the price was right.

Excellent price compared to any other accommodation in Anchorage with the same offered services. Breakfast was both hot [scrambled eggs, shredded potato (hash brown), sausage, and rolled oats/porridge] & cold offerings [cereal, muffins, bagels, toast & jam] + tea and endless coffee. 😋 Free and fast wifi. Microwave + fridge + coffee in room. Room is a little "tired", but 100% functional & clean. Free shuttle to downtown & Airport. Uber~ $14/trip so with tip to Merrill well worth it. Also Street behind is main bus route to downtown for $2/person. Great way to see the town through the eyes of the locals (100% safe). Takes exact change or local card. Friendly & helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Through the wall aircon unit is near end of life/needs a service. However, didn't need it for the 4 nights we were there in July.

My husband and I stayed at Merrill Field Inn for one night on our way back home to Australia after 2 two weeks holidaying in Alaska. Our room was very spacious, had a kitchenette, and compared with other hotels we'd stayed at in Alaska, excellent value. We were picked up in their FREE shuttle van service within 15 minutes of phoning them from the airport. After throwing down our bags, we went to dinner at the Chinese restaurant conveniently located right next door to the Inn. It was so nice to have a good spicy Asian meal after having fairly bland European-type food for 2 weeks. Next day, we had delicious FREE breakfast at the Inn. After breakfast, the Inn co-owner(?) Anthony took us downtown where we did the "trolley" (bus) tour of the city (which was very informative) and watched the Northern Lights film at the theatre near the drop-off point. After a call to the Inn, we were promptly picked up by Anthony and shuttled to the airport. The complimentary shuttle service made our stay at Merrill Inn excellent value and enabled us to see Anchorage's attractions within the limited time we had. The staff are friendly and informative.

There is no fault, Merrill's staff are wonderful & great source of information. The venue may not be next door to the airport, but their FREE shuttle service and complimentary breakfast compensate for it.

We loved the cabin room. It's located right next to the railroad. Cynthia and Phil were some of the most friendly and down-to-earth people we met on the Alaska trip. Whatever we needed, they took care of us.

A little bit less convenient with bathroom trips in the middle of the night. Shared bathrooms were in the separate main building. We stayed in the cabin unit about 100 yds from the main building.

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle to the train station and airport. The hotel was in the process of updating the room. Breakfast was as expected for this class of hotel with very good coffee.

While the outside of the hotel could use a little painting, the room was very comfortable. The manager informed us they have a plan for that, but they were delayed by the impact of COVID-19.

We stayed @ Merrill Field Inn on the last day of our vacation in Anchorage (July 15, 2024). The staff picked up us from Train station then provided delicious breakfast the next early morning (05:30am) and transported us back to the airport. They were very generous; the price was not expensive but with the breakfast and shuttles they provided, we recommend people to stay @this Inn.
