It was a pleasure to stay with David & Wanda (his pup) for 6 nights! We liked that we were able to book the larger room to give us our own private bathroom & above all, his home was dog-friendly w/ incoming & outgoing guests who were all required to be vaccinated. For the added cost $5 per person, it was worth having David prepare breakfast for us and there was also plenty of coffee readily available. The location of his home is perfect to use as a hub to get to/from Flagstaff, Arizona and Grand Canyon and there's plenty of parking on his driveway, too. Thank you for hosting the 3 of us, David!

This did not bother us as much but it may be something to note for awareness. David rents out all 3 of his available bedrooms so he sleeps in an open loft-like area just outside of the larger bedroom (the booking that comes with a private bathroom). It was never noisy or disturbing for us but it's something just to be aware of if you're especially particular about having more privacy.

I saw a post before we arrived from someone who pulled up outside and didn't like the look of the place and drove off. What a gem of a place they missed. Dave is a brilliant host, spending time to chat if you want or giving you space and privacy if you want. This is his home and it is obvious he takes pride in it (although the grounds at the front and rear are left to grow as nature intended). His home was spotlessly clean, the bedroom we had (with its own bathroom) was large, the bedding and towels also spotlessly clean. The bed was the comfiest we have stayed in. We are from the UK and had been travelling across the US for 2 months and it was great to hear some of Dave's stories and those of other travellers who stayed whilst we were there. We arrived after a long, hot, drive. What a surprise to be offered a couple of cool beers to help us settle in. There is a patio area at the rear where you can sit out under the stars and chat with other guests. Dave had plenty of tips of sites to see, places to eat and places to shop. We will definitely stay here again if we come to Flagstaff and will certainly recommend it to our friends. Without doubt this was the best pace we stayed at out over 20 places we stayed. Whilst we stayed for the most part in Motels we also stayed in some very nice hotels and Dave's beat them all both in cleanliness and friendliness. The only negative was that we only stayed 2 nights. We would have liked to have stayed longer but our travel plans didn't allow this

It was great to spend these days here. The place is quiet and comfortable, it was warm regardless of how cold it was outside, the room was big and it was awesome to be able to use all the facilities of the house (full kitchen, frigde... and I could even do laundry but I didn´t have time!!). David is very helpful and we had interesting conversations! He also provided a lot of feedback about places to visit. It is a great deal when you want to drive around to natural parks (Sedona, Great Canyon, Sunset Crater etc).

Everything was great, really. The only thing to take into account is that, if you don't have a car available, this place is not convenient. It is relatively far from downtown and has not easy access to facilities! It's about a 15-20 min drive to airport, bus station and city center.

The garden is a magic place and the house is spotlessly clean! The host invited us to leave the shoes at the entrance which is something I really appreciated. Also it has a lovely natural light and if you’re looking for a place to relax, this is just for you. The host also offered to make us breakfast and was a lovely person to talk to.

I can’t think of anything. It’s a little distant from Flagstaff city center but that’s why we chose it.

Scenery with deer and birds abounding. We saw an elk, too. Friendly dog. David, the host, sat down and really chatted with my teen kids, and had something generous to share with each guest. Although the room we stayed in seems to be partially occupied by the owner, which was a bit uncomfortable, the other rooms were stellar. The size was a bit small and you do share a bathroom. The host really tried to accommodate guests into his home.

The location is great for looking at stars, but is about 18 minutes from much of any restaurant or Flagstaff downtown. After pointing out I prefer coffee with cream, the host went out and got cream and also eggs.

Nice quiet location, owner was friendly, accommodating and attentive. Had everything needed and the home was clean and tidy. Good value for the money and in a great location to enjoy the area's sights, shopping, dining and natural wonders (Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater, Flagstaff, Meteir Crater, etc.) Highly recommend for a short our extended stay. Bed was comfortable and linens were clean. Will stay again.

Some newer, higher quality pillows on the beds would be a nice improvement and touch.

The bedroom we stayed in was a full master suite. It was very comfortable and I was impressed with how clean the bathroom was. The host was very accommodating with our late arrival and our late waking time. I appreciated the breakfast and good conversation with the host (a fascinating fellow animal lover) and the relaxed atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

Can't think of anything I didn't like.

I stayed here for 4 nights and it was fantastic! The whole house was tremendously clean, the wifi was good, the shower was hot, and the bed was comfy - just what I was looking for for my hiking trip! Dave is a great host, he gives guests absolute privacy but is always available if you need something, whether it's related to the accomodation or it's a hiking or restaurant recommendation. I rarely feel so at home at the places I stay at. The location is also superbly central with the Grand Canyon to the north, Sedona to the south, and PFNP to the east. Flagstaff is also a short drive away (lots of restaurants, supermarket, etc). There is also a petrol station located conveniently close by and motorway access is easy. Overall, it was a great and cosy hassle-free stay.

I don't have any complaints whatsoever, I'll definitely be staying here the next time I'm in Arizona!

Beautiful surroundings Nice house, guests have access to fully equipped kitchen and nice garden David makes good breakfast. It is like you are visiting a your uncle. It is not a 5 star Hilton where you can choose whatever you think as a breakfast. If David has it, he will gladly provide you, as your uncle probably would. But you don't have everything at home at all times and so David does not. David lives with a dog and since you are visiting David you will meet his dog.

Could have been cleaner

David gave us a lot of helpful information and freedom to use his kitchen & enjoy the main living area. My husband & he enjoyed talking about their mutual love of hawks & wildlife. At the same time, he gave us privacy and a key to go in & out in line with our plans. 👍🏼

We had no problems or complaints.
