This place is a gem! Clean, comfortable rooms that aren't overly decorated but definitely give a vibe. Convenient to 1-10, Menlo Park, Tucson Mountain Park and the western part of Saguaro National Park, but still quiet when you want to sleep. The bar has a good selection of beer and wine and the heated pool was amazing, even though it was colder outside than normal. We enjoyed all the artwork around the property, too - a unique, local touch. This was our first trip to Tucson and we loved it. When we visit again, we will definitely plan to stay at the Hotel McCoy.

If there was one negative, it's no coffee pot in the room. They offer coffee in the lobby in the morning as part of the breakfast, but as an extra early riser I need my coffee sooner and preferably without human interaction. There is a small stovetop in the room, so we bought instant Starbucks and boiled some water. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Wow! What my husband an I expected was an artsy, fun, quirky little mid-century modern place to rest and decompress and what we experienced were amazing murals painted everywhere, fun daily activities like a painting class including tamales and mimosas, a movie by the pool and a comedy show that was so hilarious I almost peed my pants! Where Hotel McCoy shines the most is in their hospitality and friendly smiles! Everyone is welcomed and offered a drink from their fully stocked bar upon checking in! Towels are provided poolside and the pool is open until 11 pm! There are snacks available in the lobby as well as a food truck on property serving tasty appetizers, tots and wings. There is a freezer full of locally made tamales you can microwave yourself or maybe try a refreshing lime ice pop from another available freezer! The bartenders are amazing and their Blueberry Cider is my new favorite drink! It's clear that housekeeping takes pride in providing spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms with all the soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion you could possibly need! Our A/C worked very well in the 113 degree heat and our bed was so comfortable that we slept in every day! Their complimentary coffee, oatmeal breakfast bar with fresh fruit offered daily until 10 am was a nice bonus. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay at Hotel McCoy! Three days just wasn't enough to explore everything this area has to offer so we are already planning our next visit!

The only thing we didn't like about our stay at Hotel McCoy was having to check out and leave!

The staff was really friendly and helpful. The oatmeal bar offered lots of topping options for breakfast. The coffee was good and was available 24 hours. The bed was very comfortable. Our room had a kitchenette which had everything we needed. The TV was large. The murals around the property and in the room were interesting. Great vibe overall.

There was not much nearby to walk to. It was about a 5 - 10 minute drive to the downtown area to get to some nice restaurants. Some evenings, neighbors would sit outside at the tables provided in front of each unit and it could be a bit noisy. Fortunately, they usually went inside when we were ready to go to sleep.

The employees are great! We loved the mixture of guests from young to old, and some brought their dogs.. Really cool atmosphere. We stayed 3 nights. On Tuesdays, Irish players from around the Tucson area come and play. It was really awesome! Alexandria at the bar and Jack at the food truck are amazing. Make sure to order the fried cauliflower and chicken wings! Fun games like corn hole, ping pong, etc., and beautiful artwork around the motel for picture ops. The pool is heated and stays open late at night.. The oatmeal bar is good. Housekeeping staff are super nice! The location is great if you like going to breweries and hiking. Some really good Mexican food is close as well. I wouldn't say they area is walkable as it's a little rough, but the motel is a sanctuary..

We didn't have a closet in our room. There's a rack on the wall you can hang things on, but not enough for two women. I was expecting a closet...Also, there wasn't a lampshade on the foor.lamp between the beds.. Kinda weird with just a bare light bulb.

I absolutely loved all of the staff and the amenities. One welcome drink per person for free as well as an awesome breakfast with oatmeal/fruit in the mornings from 6 AM to 10 AM. Corn hole, foosball, pool, bar, live music, not much else you can ask for.

The floors in our room could’ve been a little bit cleaner. Our little ones feet are getting pretty dark after running around the room. Also, there’s not really any place to put things out of reach of little ones hands. No shelving unless you’re in the bathroom.

You can see the effort and pride of ownership with all the art work, quotes and retro feel throughout the property. The giant roku TV, the breakfast bar, pet friendly, water bottle filler, friendly staff, very clean property, you can park right outside your room

We were really excited to stay at this property and will never rate a dog friendly property lower because we appreciate that they take dogs. However after researching this property, we had envisioned sitting in adirondack chairs around the fire pit with our dog, meeting other people, eating from the food truck and maybe listening to live music. What happened was that our dog was not allowed in those areas and we had to sit in an area shared with kids playing ping pong, no live music and the Trans Fat food truck was counter to the "healthy" vibe the property had.( the dumplings were delicious , but the majority of the menu was deep fried) For whatever reason, we had mistakenly thought that the area by the John Wayne mural was a dog play area.

Everything but the location and the coffee. Oatmeal bar was just excellent for someone who tries to eat well. Friendliness of the staff is exceptional. AND the little bar with local beers on tap was great!

Location was good for getting around, but it is immediately off I10 and the frontage road...a bit disconcerting. That said, the noise was minimal.and did not bother me at all in the room. Now, the coffee: Sorry, guys, but it tastes like it was made by someone who doesn't drink coffee. I don't think I'm a coffee snob...I just like strong, dark roast coffee made with untreated water. I'd suggest you use filtered water, a dark or medium-dark roast, and make it much stronger. People can always dilute strong coffee, but there is no saving it if it's weak. All this said, I still enjoyed the stay. I just made my own coffee in my room. :-)

We stayed in a Deluxe King room for 4 nights last week. Our room had a mini kitchenette with small refrigerator, electric stove, microwave, cooking items, and a bar where we can sit with sink. The room was laid out nicely and didn’t feel cramped. Our bed was comfortable. The hotel was located near the freeway and busy street. Our room was on the backside and farther from the freeway/street & quiet. We selected this hotel since it was well rated & good value. It’s definitely a unique hotel with interesting decor and art. It had a pool and games which makes it fun for families. We did feel safe and didn’t see homeless people on the street. We were out and about so we didn’t hang out in the hotel. We did go to the bar on Friday night for their local drink and there was live entertainment. It’s good that the hotel provides free oatmeal breakfast (though I am not a fan of oatmeal) and has a bar. They offer free coffee with breakfast but it wasn’t very good. The staff were friendly.

The surrounding area is not exciting and there are no restaurants/bars within walking distance.

We arrived in mid afternoon and played the rest of the day at the hotel. We swam, played ping pong, corn hole, and Super Mario Bros. We are from the food truck and it was delicious. My inner teenager was delighted with all the nostalgia and fun that was top notch quality.

The ac unit on the wall in our room was very loud and blew air on my side of the bed all night. Without it it was too hot. With it on, it cooled the room adequately. The bed and room was comfortable but the ac was awful.

Staff are really friendly. Great location and easy access to national parks. We like the art work in the room. Felt like it's pretty unique and interesting. Free parking. Although it's close by freeway, our room doesn't hear the traffic. Free breakfast is always good. Complimentary drinks are good, too. The small little kitchen is a plus for us. We got food from Spout and had pretty good meals without looking for restaurants.

AC is a bit noisy. I woke up in the middle of the night. I should bring ear plugs with me. My friend had no problem with it.
