Quirky, retro ambiance has a lot of unique character. Wonderful rooms and friendly staff, all first rate. Very good food too, although some expansion of a limited menu might be in order. The unexpected live entertainment in the courtyard one night was a treat, a female mariachi-style group singing in Spanish and accompanying themselves on violins and guitar - really outstanding!
No breakfast options besides coffee. A separate pay option for some basic bread-based choices - nothing fancy - would be a real plus (e.g., 🥖 baguettes or croissants and butter / jalapeño spreads or jellies).

Location was great! We walked to downtown for dinner. This place is very welcoming and retro. Just the basics, but the basics were great! Everything was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We'll definitely be staying here again.
We definitely recommend requesting a room on the top floor. It was VERY noisy at 6am and the room above us had someone that was pacing back and forth for 3 hours and moving furniture around. It would have been nice to have a lamp in the room next to the bed, but you can't beat the value of this place.

what I love about this property is that it is super laid-back, the owner interacts with all the guests, and the regulars at the restaurant and bar, which are fantastic by the way. Some of the best drinks I’ve had in a while, and this is coming from someone who cooks for a living, a New Yorker via Miami… where some great food is and the burger here, YUM! the ‘night cap’ drink UGH YUM, I miss it already. it is dog friendly, which is important to me considering I have two dogs… But overall the staff and everyone is lovely and I made it a point to stop by here again and stay on my way back from California. So if you’re in the area stay there for sure you won’t be disappointed
nothing. It’s awesome.

This place was so cute & vibey! A friend & I were looking for a well priced hotel close to a concert venue we were traveling to see, and the downtown Clifton ended up being a 10 minute walk, which was perfect. Prior to arriving, I received a very kind & thorough welcome message. The staff was super friendly, the space had a very chill energy. The room was so spacious, well decorated, and comfortable. There were many little details they included like hotel post cards, old books to read, retro appliances & decor. Cute & convenient if you are staying in Tucson, it made our quick trip feel really special! Such a pleasant stay, 100% will be staying with them again!

Very hip, urban chic vibe with nice decor and atmosphere. Perfectly situated - convenient to downtown, but still very quiet and private. Staff was great, there is a bar that opens at 4 and free coffee in the AM. I didn’t try the vinyl records with mini turntables, but they are available to borrow in the lobby, adding to the cool factor.
A more comfortable chair in the room would have been a plus

Arrived late on Thanksgiving evening had a special gift waiting for my wife's birthday in the room. Wonderful staff, kind, warm, and welcoming have suggestions for a local restaurant for dinner which happened to be walking distance. Pet friendly and welcoming. Loved the retro style with modern amenities of microwave and mini fridge. Hotel is waking distance from several restaurant, stores, and light rail.
Very thin blanket on bed with no extra linens. Although I'm sure if we asked they would have provided extra blankets. No coffee in room although French press service available in room for additional cost. Free coffee is available in the front office. Soap and shampoo is all grapefruit and I'm allergic although there are stores within walking distance.

The historic look and feel of the hotel was a highlight and what attracted me and my wife to stay here. We are big midcentury modern nerds so the unique midcentury antique furniture was a very cool touch. Everything was well maintained and the location was perfect for us as we were in Tucson for a concert at the Rialto downtown; we were able to walk to and from the concert with no problems. Also, the staff was so friendly and amazing! They walked us to our room and answered all of our questions. Then the free local coffee in the morning was delicious and was so much better than most of the free black tar tasting coffee available at other hotels. Will definitely be back here next time we stay in Tucson!
Only dislike was we found a dirty towel under the bed but that wasn't a huge deal. Everything else was great!

We like this hotel — it's location walkable to downtown, the bar and restaurant. And its quirkiness. It has a quitet, laid-back vibe, good parking, not lots of hassles...
Looks like owners might be slacking on attention here, leaving everything to limited staff who seem overworked. Maybe owners spending more time on their new venture, the Citizen Hotel. Overworked bartender/meal order taker/cashier, no wait staff in restaurant. Don't want to complain too much because those who work there work really hard. They just seemed stretched. And the menu was much slimmer than the last time we stayed.

Nicely decorated and clean rooms, close to downtown Tucson. The bar itself is super cute - had a few drinks there - reasonably priced ($7-15).
Parking is tight, I don't even think they have space for each room. If you arrive back at the hotel too late, you may need to do street parking.

it has a classy but not snobbish retro feel. So many little touches that make this place feel warm and welcoming. The staff are genuine and friendly and that is a hard combination to find sometimes. This place goes out of the way to be unique yet maintain the 1948 roadside motel feel. The room rates and restaurant/bar are reasonably priced. The neighborhood is awesome.
