Walking distance to a lot. Super close to the beach. Room was very cute.

When we showed up we were told our reservation was cancelled. A slight mix up that they made up for by putting us in a better room and offering us an even better room for our second night.

Amazing location! Huge room! Super comfy bed with soo many excellent pillows! Gorgeous spa tub and fabulous shower. We just loved our room! The whole building was beautiful, with little gardens and plants all over. The staff was great! Very professional but also friendly and welcoming. Each person we engaged with stood out in some way. And oh my- the breakfast on the sun deck! Delicious food and coffee with the most amazing ocean view! The gentleman running the breakfast was on point- he even ran down to get us a bottle of champagne when we mentioned mimosas! This place is the opposite of a cold, fancy, cookie-cutter hotel. All personality and charm with subtle luxury. By far, favorite hotel I've ever stayed at. We will be back!

Great location - 30 seconds to Avila Beach and within a minute of restaurants and shops. Great breakfast that was included - I had a great Americano, egg&cheese souffle and a tasty, "real" croissant - most places don't have real croissants, but so very happy that Inn at Avila did it right. Room was clean, nice and generally quiet - we were on the 2nd floor, and could hear the people above us on 3rd floor walking around - not overly loud, but definitely could hear them moving about, but luckily, they went to bed about the same time as us.

This my new favorite hotel! Terrific staff, comfy room, perfect location on the beach in town. Now add complementary fresh-baked pie and ice cream in the evening and an outstanding breakfast on the rooftop terrace overlooking the beach, and what's not to love?

No AC in the room, but that's rarely an issue at the beach. It did have a very cute little fireplace for cool evenings. In fact, the whole room was cute and charmingly decorated.

Perfect location, excellent staff, cute extras, and large balcony with gorgeous views.

We had a very nice stay, though I do feel like we got the "Booking.com" room (205) as it was more outdated than others, right on the housekeeping service closets, and had little way to block out the security lights from the corner which shone brightly into the bathroom and sitting area. Some curtains could help with this. A newer fan could also enhance the stay, the current fan has seen better days and makes a lot of extra noise. Had a nice time regardless and may consider again, but would probably book directly and be more specific about my needs.

The young man at the desk was very informative and warm welcoming. The staff and manager as well. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. We got a nice view from our room balcony of the ocean. It was also nice be able to leave the sliding doors open during the night to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. We really enjoyed the complementary evening pie and ice cream provided for us by the Inn. The individual pie was delicious and brought in from the local bakery. Also, enjoyed our morning continental breakfast up in the patio area with a great view. Thanks to all the staff for making our first time and wonderful one. We will definitely be back!

Great Location! Rooftop patio with ample seating and an unobstructed view of the pacific. Midweek is complete silence with only the sound of the waves. Pie and ice cream in the evenings and a delicious breakfast with specialty coffee every morning. Beware of thieving seagulls. We watched one snag a croissant off a lady's plate!! The staff is great!! Beach cruiser bikes are available but we didn't use.

The bed is amazingly comfortable once you get past the heavy wood frame it's surrounded by. Not all rooms have that type of bed but this one did and if you're 5'2" or shorter, it's a challenge to get into because it's also very tall. The spa tub which I didn't use is awkwardly placed in front of the only widow with a partial view of the ocean. The maze of stairways and passages is a little difficult to navigate. No elevator.

Breakfast & beautiful views of the ocean on roof top (Joe Mama's) , sound of the waves from our room, delicious individual pies, coffee, tea, hot chocolate & popcorn available in the evening, jacuzzi in room. Friendly & helpful personnel. Many steps up to the 3rd floor room proved to be good exercise for us because we like to hike. Quirky but fun style room.

TV workings are very complicated to use ( at a time when we really wanted to watch the news), no closet, room needs to have new hairdryer. No hotel elevator, so just a bit challenging to carry our luggage to/from the 3rd floor room.

The staff was amazing!!! Very friendly and polite something you don't always see. From the Front Desk to the 2 guys (sorry didn't get their name) serving breakfast. They treated you better than a restaurant. Plus, the amenities they provide from beach chairs, umbrellas to water and snacks. You can't get that usually. They go an extra mile for you. Was such a nice stay, hotel is a little old so you do hear the people above you but that doesn't make it a bad place. Would definitely stay again.

Breakfast was great, on the top deck overlooking the ocean. Lovely place, old but quaint and nice. Not great for anyone that does not have perfect mobility, Location is amazing.

Room was extremely dark. Not enough lights to even see. Curtains are open to walkway where everyone goes to their room. No sheers, so you are sitting in the dark if you don't want to have people see your whole room. Breakfast was great but was served on the roof deck overlooking the ocean. But many stairs to climb, no elevator at all in the building. Something to think about if booking this hotel. My husband walks with a cane and it was very difficult to get up 3 flights of stairs to the roof deck. Can't beat the location, but really only for the people that can navigate old staircases and uneven terrain.
