Rebecca at reception was so welcoming and had a big smile every time we saw her. She was helpful recommending restaurants in the area and said we could request housekeeping to clean our room each day of our stay if we wanted. That was wonderful. The hotel was very quiet with a super comfortable bed, nice ocean view, good jacuzzi. Loved that there were hardwood and tile floors. The place is super clean!

Breakfast mainly consisted of sugar laden items like sweet yogurt, sweet flavored instant oatmeal packets, sweetened breakfast cereals and pastries. The bananas were too ripe. Thankfully they did have hard boiled eggs and the coffee was very good.

The woman at the front desk was not friendly at all. I called from Fresno before I left and ask her two questions. Each answer was a flat no and nothing more. When I arrived in the office she stopped talking to the guest she was helping and said, “we are not checking anyone in today until 3:30”. There was no hello, welcome, nothing but a flat unfriendly statement. Not exactly what guests expect when they arrive and not a good representation on your property. It was the older lady who works in the morning. The young gal in the evening was very nice and friendly.

The location is perfect, with amazing ocean views. Near the stairs to the beach, plants don’t obstruct views, boardwalk right across the street. We ate at the restaurant next door and walked a little to the other one we love. The rooms in the front with ocean view are pricey but I saved up because it was so worth it to drink tea on my balcony looking at that view every morning!

The only small issue is that our room was on the bottom floor, and with wood floors (which I loved having instead of a questionable carpet in most hotels) the people above us made a lot of noise walking back and forth in heavy soles shoes. Woke us up more than once. I don’t think people realize how loud that gets.

The delux king ocean front room was beautiful. The fact that there were no stairs to climb was great. The direct ocean views were amazing and the sound of the waves every night were fantastic. Check in was super easy and staff was very nice and engaging. Even the housekeepers were friendly. The bed was comfortable and the linen was so soft and warm. The fireplace was so useful on chilly mornings. From binoculars to robes and the jacuzzi tub it was a pleasure to stay there... we'll be back. Thank you for a memorable anniversary stay.

The toliets could use slow closing lids..lol.

Fabulous room with a view, balcony, comfortable bed, gas fireplace, fancy bath tub and shower, mini-fridge, dining table and two lounge chairs. Everything was clean and the continental breakfast was nice. Great location - Sea Chest restaurant is next door, easy access boardwalk across the street, and further down the street - Moonstone Bar/Grill, and a wine tasting happy hour at Tooth and Nail. We appreciated the note left by management referencing our anniversary celebration, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

We wish the price wasn't so high for our room, we could only afford to stay one night.

We loved the location - right across from the beach and within walking distance to the Sea Chest and other places to eat/drink. The room was so clean and the view from the window, although "partial" was amazing. I loved sitting at the table in the AM with coffee watching the waves. You don't need to do stairs if you can't; you can access everything from a ground level. Check in was easy and it was a perfect place to stay.

The hot tub is kind of a why bother, but nice that they have one. The breakfast is typical continental and the coffee was very good. Nice of the front desk lady to offer a towel to use on the outdoor chairs just in case they were wet. It was a really nice courtyard to have our coffee and yogurt.

The location of the hotel is perfect. You walk right out to the beach to enjoy the breathtaking views this beautiful city has to offer. As you sleep you can hear the waves crashing into the sand while enjoying the fireplace in your room. Whether you opt for a beach view or a partial view the rooms are all beautiful. If you need rest, this is your place. Long walks. Beautiful sunsets and serenity all around while enjoying a quiet room. The staff was all kind. The rooms were beautiful and well-kept. To top it off the room includes breakfast as well. Talk about a bargain!!

The only thing that I would suggest being updated is the pillows. They were a bit flat for my liking.

This is the third time we have stayed here. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the fireplace provided all the heat we needed, despite the cold.

The Continental breakfast did not include hard boiled eggs. Providing eggs would greatly enhance the breakfast. The receptionist told us Highway one was closed 1 mile above San Simeon, as the purpose of our trip was to see the Elephant Seal Rookery at Piedras Blancas Beach which is over 7 miles above San Simeon. Fortunately, she was wrong and Highway was not closed until 100 yards above Piedras Blancas Beach and we were able to see the seals perfectly.

We spontaneously decided to go away for the weekend and watch the baby elephant seals nearby at vista point. This is a great choice to stay! It is located right at the beach with a nice boardwalk, there is plenty of parking space, and the street in front of the hotel is a quiet one with a 25-speed limit. It seems like the place is rather new, the facilities and rooms are very clean and I enjoyed the eye for details, like the shower curtain of which the lower part can be taken off and washed, enough space to hang your clothes and towels, sustainable soaps, a comfy sofa seat and 2 chairs with a table, a cute fireplace and windows in every room built in a way such that you can see the sea. Oh, and very important: a big and very comfy bed! We would come again :-)

They don't promise a big breakfast, but it could still be improved by adding some savory options and by making sure the drinks are not frozen anymore (my apple juice was).

Proximity to the beach was excellent, and loved that it was next door to Sea Chest Oyster bar. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable.

TV was a little outdated but not terrible. Would have been nice if the guide was easier to navigate. Door was thin and we could hear outside too well, which meant outside could hear us inside too well. Perhaps add a weather strip to beneath the door for added sound insulation.
