When we discovered that my husband would not be able to step into the shower in our standard room, the staff were kind enough to let us move into a handicapped room as soon as it was available. Extra work for them, but no extra charge for us. - We don't travel with our dogs, but really enjoy watching the dogs that are staying at the Inn. - Most of all, we enjoy sitting outside at Cambria Shores Inn- The landscaping is nice. We sit on Adirondack chairs and watch the ocean, which is just across the street.

The breakfast basket did not serve our needs, as it came later than we wanted, but mostly, we preferred to go out for breakfast where we could get hot food and a good amount of protein to start the day. For those who want a light, leisurely breakfast, the basket has a nice selection of breads, fruits, and juice, complete with plates, glasses and cheerful cloth napkins.

Cant beat the location and views, located right across from beach. Enjoyed long walks along the beach and trails - so convenient to be able to stop by “home” at the inn as needed. Very nice new renovated details throughout room. Deep soaking bathtub. Had a patio with nice ocean view (not private, so expect to encounter your neighbors :). Lisa and other staff were very kind. Free glass of wine upon arrival, cookies and brownies in office were nice touches. A few doors down from the Sea Chest restaurant, highly recommended (cash only). The morning basket was charming, thank you, not really a healthy breakfast but you can always supplement by yourself! DVDs were a nice idea, I was excited by the novelty, but we couldn’t get any discs to play all the way through, they were all scratched up. :)

Soft bed, lumpy pillows, so I never had very good sleep (although cozy). A little warm on early August night, no a/c but a small fan in the room would be helpful. Can’t open the front window for breeze because it gets loud in the very early morning with the sound of people working (?), doors, cars. Our first morning we were awakened to the sound of some kind of pounding outside? Might have been an anomaly.

The location was great. Room was clean bed not so comfortable. The breakfast basket was not good at all they should not call it a bread basket and the rooms are all partial view. The staff was great. They really don’t have room service. They do serve a little food out on the wine tasting patio but it’s limited and when the foods gone, it’s gone. They do not offer breakfast as I had stated this is the bread basket which really is just choose apples banana, and orange juice. I would stay there again just be more prepared.

They should give extra towels. I didn’t like that they don’t have food on the property only a little bit of dinner food and really no breakfast so the bread basket consist of Apple banana, some pastry orange juice and string cheese.

Very well maintained older property. Rooms look to have been redone and they are lovely. Fireplace and jacuzzi tub were especially nice to have. The views could not be beat - loved having morning coffee and evening wine in the provided adirondack chairs overlooking the ocean and beautiful sunsets. Boardwalk and beach access was directly across from the property. Morning breakfast basket brought to the room was an especially nice touch.

Breakfast basket could have used some variety - same thing each morning. Added protein such as hard boiled eggs would have been nice. Still, it was very nice to have.

The property is directly across the road from the ocean and offers magnificent views. The property is better described as a motor lodge. It is a single story building where most rooms have at least a partial view of the ocean. The hotel has Adirondack chairs out on the lawn where the guests can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of hot tea while looking at the ocean. The parking spots are very large which is a luxury not offered by many places. The room was spacious, comfortable and was fairly updated. The bed was quite comfortable as well. A simple continental breakfast basket is hung in front of the door to help guests get their day started. The staff was very nice and helpful.

I really don’t have anything negative to say about the property.

We stayed two nights in two different rooms: a king and a two-queen room. The king room was wonderful--it had a huge soaker tub, a nice little table with two chairs in front of the window where we could sit and look out at the ocean with our breakfast. The queen room was the same size, so quite crowded with nowhere to place our luggage, etc. Both rooms had a very nice spacious area for preparing food, including dishes, silverware, etc. However, everything about the king room was nicer--our queen room was in a corner, so darker, and the fridge and microwave weren't as nice as those in the king room. The staff was amazing, and the brownies and cookies were a special treat in the afternoons, and the breakfast in a basket was very tasty and fun. It would have been nice to have had some yogurt, but the pastries were excellent quality. We really enjoyed our stay here and would like to return again, but we wouldn't stay in the queen room again. I'd give the king room a 10 and the queen an 8. Loved the fireplace and the windows in the bath and kitchen areas.

The queen room was small with no place to put our luggage. It's very expensive!

Everything about this place was wonderful from the moment we checked in. They provide vouchers for a free glass of wine right next door, practically on the inn's property. I put "not applicable" on the free wifi because I didn't use it, but it did exist - same goes for breakfast. Unfortunately, we had to leave bright and early, just as they were bringing around the charming breakfast baskets. The coffee was fabulous, though. I'm sure the breakfast was just as wonderful as the accommodations. The bed was super comfortable, the room well-appointed, and the location *two thumbs up* Be sure to walk a couple of doors down to Sea Chest Oyster Bar. It's one of our favorite Cambria restaurants, especially for the oysters. It is CASH ONLY, though. Oh, and the grounds, AKA landscaping, were beautiful.

There's really nothing not to like.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. We loved sitting in the chairs on the property and watching the waves and the people. It was beautiful!

It would have been better if we could have darkened the room better to sleep at night. Also, we would like the breakfast basket to come earlier. 8:30 is late for us to have to wait before we can leave on our adventure for the day. The website had indicated they would accommodate my husband's celiac in the basket, and there was no accommodation when we asked at arrival.

Absolutely immaculate and charming! We booked here because of the reviews on Booking.com. When we got our of the car in the parking lot, my 15-year old daughter was delighted by the view and closeness to the beach (directly across the street); she is not easy to impress! (See first photo.) The room was charming, with so much attention to little details. There was a gas fireplace in the corner, perfect for ambiance on a chilly winter day, and they provided glasses, dished, a small microwave, a refrigerator, in-room coffee, and extra fuzzy blankets. The lobby served cookies from 3-5, brownies at 5, and we receive vouchers for the adults for wine tasting at the on-site cafe. The beds and linens were comfortable, the room and bathroom were well-appointed with good attention to decorating detail, and the morning breakfast baskets were delightful and delicious. The staff was communicative and friendly both prior to and during our stay. We would definitely stay here again. I was a little apprehensive about the smell and cleanliness of the room since the "pet-friendly" aspect was so emphasized, but there was no evidence whatsoever that any pets had been in our room.

What would have been better is if our stay had been longer. We arrived at sunset, but I wish we'd arrived sooner and stays fro multiple days. There is much more to do in this area than we had thought. Note: the restaurant and dining options in Cambria and San Simeon are quite pricey. I would recommend bringing at least snacks or sandwich items unless your budget is unlimited. Most places had entrees (even just burgers) from $17 to $25.

Staff/housekeeping accommodated my need (used DoNotDisturb), allowed periodic garbage retrieval, cleaned pet relief area when other owners did not do so, and kept facility well-maintained. Madeline's wine tasting added bonus because first night did not have opportunity to venture to Cambria Main Street. This on property wine/appetizer gathering overlooked ocean vastness prior and during sunset - exceptional! Had charcuterie board which I had to box and consume next day due to the massive quantity of cheese/meat/dried fruit. Room fridge/microwave used extensively as well as coffee machine and other kitchen supplies - well-stocked including ceramic plates/cups as well as flatware and cloth napkin. These extras made eat-in more enjoyable with no plastic or paper plate catastrophes.

Some pet owners forgot to clean post-relief of their pet. Thankfully staff kept area relatively clean. Room had awesome view of ocean. Had to continually keep blinds down due to sun blinding and reflecting off mirrors, as well as patrons viewing into room or their headlights when parked directly across from room.
