LOVED the blonde Brazilian girl that worked the front desk! Hard worker and any company is lucky to have her. She never seemed annoyed with guests asking questions, and said she'd take care of them. Did everything with a smile and always seemed happy to help. Hard to find good customer service like that nowadays. She turned on the fire pits and cleaned up after some guests that left things on a table. Told us to leave everything and she'd take care of it. One of the propane tanks was stuck and I called my husband down to help, but she was determined and got it before he got down there. She brought us blankets when we were by the fire, and I heard her tell another guest she would bring up their things to the room. Rockstar employee!!!

Exceptional location location location. Directly on the Strand and next to all the restaurants and clubs at Hermosa Beach Pier. We had an overlooking balcony -We recommend the extra price if you want to have the full experience. The staff was exceptional also. Very attentive, informational, and helpful with every part of our stay. We rented hotel bikes for a very reasonable price and enjoyed the Strand experience very much.

Can't think of a thing, except maybe a couple of cloudy days, but that's not controlled by the hotel.

I love the beach and this place is right on it basically. We spent a lot of time on the upper deck, just people watching and lounging, drinking, and listening to the ocean. The staff will do anything for you, with a smile and like family. Jason got the fire going for us at night and Emily made sure we had ice or whatever we needed in our rooms. Restaurants with live music and outdoor tables are right around the corner and Bothers Burritos is about 100 feet away! Arsenio Hall showed up at the Comedy Club the night we went-that's a short walk away, too. Loved this place!!! I shall return!!

Unfortunately there kids in the room above us started bouncing on the floor around 6 AM a couple mornings, but it's a family motel, so gotta expect that.

We travelled to a few different places in California and this hotel was by far our favourite. Vibe and design was spot on. Rooms were spacious, well thought out, very clean and comfortable. Really liked having a balcony too. Jason on reception was super friendly and helpful. He helped sort us a taxi to LAX. I'd love to come back and stay at this hotel in Hermosa beach at a better time of year when the weather is better and the area is buzzing.

Everything was honestly perfect. we were sad that we could only stay for 1 night. We would have loved to have stay for longer.

Loved the clean, bright room...well maintained, new just about everything, and the bed and bedding was a delight to sleep in. I'm very particular about sleep, too.

The only thing I can think of is the lack of a jacuzzi/pool, but space is limited and the ocean is steps away.

The location is the best part. They did a great job with the remodel and updating of this old hotel. The patio is a great place to hang out. plenty of parking available. Close to many restaurants and right on the Stand so great for walking or riding bikes.

Our room had 2 double beds which were quite cozy, but 2 queens would not fit.

Staff was amazing! Which was extremely refreshing and appreciated after traveling 16 hours. Very Friendly and helpful. Room was super clean and comfortable. Everything felt new/modern. I had wished the bed was softer but that's just personal preference.

if i had to say something, it would be the sand everywhere on the floors. hard to keep it from happening, being right across the beach, but maybe a door mat could help or brooms in the rooms :)

Fab location, lovely room and the staff were great - so helpful and easy to deal with

Sand on the floor when we arrived (it is beach side I guess, but it's a pain wiping your feet to get into bed) and no toilets in the hotel unless you use your room - fine if you haven't checked it, but if you have and you're waiting for your departure you have to walk to the nearest public toilet. The TV aerial cable was also to short and was broken so no tv.

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is superb. The room was freshly refurbished.

The beds could be turned round to give a sea view. A full length mirror could be added to the room. The lighting could be improved - difficult to read in bed. The room was not cleaned every day.
