Beautiful private, hidden oasis with plenty of outdoor seating and lounging. Having the lodge/clubhouse room with fireplace and games was a plus and the large round outdoor fire table with the landscape all lit up made for relaxing cocktails at night. We enjoyed the dry sauna, hot tub and cool dip too!

The beautiful stone in the Sauna/Hottub area was unfortunately painted with all different peoples names and symbols. It reminded us of childrens camp or graffiti which shouldn’t be at a property like this.

Cute boutique hotel that takes you back to the classic days of 'ole Palm Springs. I didn't have a chance to use the pool or spa, but it looked great! Away from the crowded downtown strip and not much near the hotel to walk to, but that was okay for this trip. Compared to the prices being charged in town, this hotel was a great under the radar spot to get some R&R.

Had to unplug the refrigerator as it ran a bit loud. The A/C heater unit was pointed directly at the bed, adjusted the vents upwards which helped. Would have appreciated a bottle or 2 of water to make coffee. No muffins in the morning, but that was to be expected with COVID.

Peaceful atmosphere, heated pool, award winning staff, clean and quiet, gorgeous grounds with corn hole and ping pong games with a beautiful outdoor fire and also an indoor fireplace in the common room which boasts karaoke machine, family games and much more!

The only thing that was a negative was the key punch door system. I would suggest you either have the batteries replaced at the beginning of your stay or just ask for the brass key to your room. The pin pans don't seem to take the code and operate with ease.

I came to the Monkey Tree as a surprise early Christmas with my mom and she had the best time. We love the vintage/modern decor and the selection of games and activities (ping pong, bikes, sauna, pool, etc) on hand. The room was equipped with all amenities you could need and the location was close to everything in downtown Palm Springs. It was super quiet and we never felt disturbed or bothered by anyone. It’s been a month since we stayed and we are still talking about It. Love that they kept the integrity of the old hotel as well! Thanks again x

I actually really enjoyed that it was an adults only hotel - I love kids but it made the stay a bit more relaxing! Our room also had so much space and I loved the 60's decor. There were so many additional amenities as well in the common room.

The water pressure was not great, but they do state that the plumbing is from the 60's.

We got the king bed suite with the private patio. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and there were pots, pans, and plates so that we could cook breakfast in the room. There was even a small cookie sheet so we could cook up a little evening treat. The pool was heated beautifully, although the hot tub was far too hot. There's a grill outside which we didn't end up using, but it was nice to know it was there. There were also plenty of games to choose from outside. The contract you have to sign with Avant stay indicates that this is not an event hotel, but I think it would make a great place for an adult family reunion. 16 units- enough space for 32 people.

There is no on-site staff. You have to call the management company so they can call a staff person who then has to drive to the location should you require any assistance. Also, it wasn't clear when we booked through booking that we were actually booking through Avant stay. I thought we were confirmed, but it turns out we weren't. We had to download their app, and send pictures of our drivers license in order to get the access code to the hotel and the code to get into our room. We had to do all of this as the sun was setting and the facility got dark. There were no lights that came on outside. Even the man who eventually came to help us get in was surprised that there weren't any lights on.

My review is actually for a sister property - Hotel El Cid as the Monkey Tree had to relocate us due to overbooking. This worked out well for us as El Cid is a group booking hotel and we were the only people at the 6 room property. We had the pool and all of the amenities to ourselves during the 2 day stay which was great. The property manager Marco was a great help as he explained everything to us an he heated the pool to a comfortable temperature.

everything was clean. we really liked the furniture and aesthetic of the property. staff were friendly and helpful when we encountered a minor issue with our code not unlocking our door initially. The property is also super close to all the shopping and food places nearby.

everything was great! maybe some blinds or curtains in the restroom would be nice for a little extra privacy.

The architecture of the compound; the pool was gentle on the skin, love the fire pit and the interior decor.

Loud from planes flying overhead… made it tricky to sleep in. Shower head was clogged from mineral build up. Did not like the check in process. Scanning my face seemed invasive.
