The Skylark, a Palm Springs Hotel

We have seen a lot of hotels in the US but this one is a great exception concerning the modern furnishings. No thick carpets, no brown wallpapers, no showering curtain. That was quite great. Also the staff was super friendly providing some dining tips as well when we checked in. The pool area is quite nice with a great view onto the mountains. The breakfast does not offer a big range of things, but you find everything you need and bacon and eggs are freshly made. Overall we pretty much enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed at the Skylark for 5 nights and can not fault this place atall. The facilities were great, including complimentory breakfast with a selection of food and drinks for everyone. The rooms were spacious with all the facilities that you would need. Beds were amazingly comfortable. The pool area is large with enough sunbeds for everyone. Also open 24/7, with Jacuzzi also. Staff were very friendly and accomidating, we arrived late in the night from LA and they accomidated this without hesitation. The night security guy also was a great help when we arrived and was kind enough to keep an eye on our car when we had to park in the street. Great stay, 100% recommend.

Nothing to dislike.

It was secure, room was exceptionally large with well stocked complimentary coffee area with nice Microwave, Fridge etc. Very very clean. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, equal to a Four Seasons mattress. Was so surprised in a wonderful way! Scott who was the manger went above and beyond to help me with my taxi situation. Greeted me and showed me where everything was. His helpfulness and kindness stood out. The full breakfast was amazingly! I will return again soon! Thank you again for such a great experience!

Nothing, as the property and staff served me well for a short stay!

The room was spacious and the bed was pretty comfortable overall. The pool was the perfect temperature and open late. Free breakfast was solid (milk and cereal, frittata, misc breads and spreads, juice, coffee). Our room had a great mountain view. It was relatively quiet. The location was great, very convenient and walking distance to a lot of restaurants.

We didn't realize the property would still be under construction when we went, so it was hard to find where to enter and didn't have a super inviting outside. There were some sparkles stuck on the carpet from a previous guest (which are admittedly very hard to remove, but was still weird).

The included breakfast was fabulous. I really appreciated that there were some low sugar options. The offerings every day were bacon, egg frittata, plain yogurt, sweetened yogurt, granola, cold cereal, bread/toast/bagels, fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas), beverages. The frittata was especially delicious. Such a good breakfast for a full day of hiking! The staff are amazing and very helpful. We checked in after normal check-in hours. There was a lockbox for the key and phone number to call to get the code. It worked well and I liked that there was a normal key for the front door and room, rather than a key card that doesn't always work (like at other places). The hot tub and pool were nice. The pool is heated and my sister thinks it is a salt pool. The location was pretty good, just a few minutes to the restaurants, 10-15 minutes to hiking, about an hour to the Joshua Tree National Park entrance.

We had room 26: It could use some updating, but worked well for us. A few improvements that would be helpful: an additional mirror or two outside of the bathroom to facilitate getting ready when someone is in the bathroom, more plug-ins/ maybe a power strip somewhere. The bed is quite soft so not too comfortable for us who are used to a more firm mattress.

Absolute great value for the space. Previous reviews were spot on. It's an enclosed area with a 24 hours pool and hot tub in the middle. Room and especially bed we're comfortable. Breakfast was included each morning. I was expecting cereal and bagels etc. For a continental breakfast. They had quiche, bacon, and waffles, in addition to yogurt and cereal. Overall place was great and I would stay again.

There is no rack in the shower to hold your soaps. Simple enough to get around but would be nice to have. Parking instructions would have been nice to know also. There are limited free spaces behind the hotel. Now I know if there are no spaces just park in the street parallel to the hotel. Really though, these are a bit nit picky from me. Not a big deal.

Very clean and well maintained property. Delighted to find that the 'front desk' was actually an Airstream trailer, super cute! The pool area (with hot tub) is the 1st thing you see after check in, very nice with plenty of lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas, pool is heated which is a nice feature. Pool towels provided. Also there's a fire pit area with seating. (I wasn't able to use any of these amenities as it rained the whole time I was in town.) Very pretty landscaping, especially the twin palms. Mountain view is spectacular. My king room was quite spacious, with an upholstered chair, large desk area under the TV, safe, cabinet, mini fridge, and a small, low dresser for suitcases and drawers for clothing. Large bathroom with shower only. Bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast was tasty & a nice amenity, very nice breakfast room with plenty of seating. Egg frittata, breads, bagels, cereal, fruit, coffee, juices and milk available. I've been in and out of town for the last 6 weeks and this is the first (and least expensive) hotel I've stayed that offered breakfast as part of the rate. Really impress with the Skylark.

As with most hotel rooms, the lighting was more 'mood' than adequate. No light in the shower, pedestal sink (and this is a big complaint with me) no counter space for personal items. Only cable channels on tv with no guide or sleep timer function. I also would have appreciated some light filtering curtains behind the black out curtains.

Fantastic Pool, especially if you are an early morning lap swimmer. (Families and kids hit the pool by 9:30 am or so.) Love the vintage vibe and the airstream concierge desk. Staff were great, friendly, helpful. Clean comfy room.Good bed. OK breakfast included. Plenty of parking

VERY Brightly lit outside the room all night. Gotta close those curtains tightly. Folks walking by ground floor room all day can be noisy. So maybe not the place to stay if you want a quiet, private room. But great for young parents wanting to relax while keeping an eye on the kids.

Really spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The grounds were well kept and the breakfast in the morning was a nice bonus. Easy to walk to dinner and nearby places.

Biggest complaint is that there was a full on pool party of 10 drunk and obnoxious adults the main day we were there to enjoy the pool and relax. Only two people from the group were staying at the hotel, and the others were saying something about their "day pass." Apparently the hotel lets people that aren't staying at the hotel use the pool? That was kind of annoying. I wouldn't minded so much if they had been chill, but they literally took over the entire pool, were yelling, brought their own music (that was not good) and no one at the hotel did anything about it.

The hotel was great! The personal was so friendly and helpful! I loved the music and pool. It looked so refreshing. I loved the movie outside for kids also.

I loved the hotel. The only reason I did not give it the highest rating was because the room just need a little TLC. The baseboard was cut off at the bottom (exposing not painted parts) and no Kleenex in the room. Also the bathroom has a ramp and was raised. It was awkward go up and down. Breakfast was yummy, but my daughter didn't like spicy eggs. More kid's menu items would help.
