Pros: -Location -The Staff -Breakfast -AC/ Heater works EXTREMELY well and there is a fan in the room too. -River view was beautiful -Easy outlet availability for charging

Cons: -The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned for awhile. There was a good layer of dust everywhere and when I picked up my clothes from the floor after taking a shower, they were covered in a lot of super noticeable dust. -The bed is super stiff, I didn't mind the mattress that much but the pillows are what really made it uncomfortable. They were overly poofy pillows that did not flatten or sink in over time so it constantly felt like my neck was being bent weird trying to sleep on a stiff mattress with big lifted pillows.

great history lesson plus it was fantastic to be on the river and walking distance to everything we could have hoped for. We loved the Railroad Museum, the Science and Curiosity Museum and the seals across the river on the dock.

the room was too warm overnight even though the thermostat was turned to lowest possible temperature. the windows don't open which is a pet peeve for me. Used the fan from the well stocked closet/cabinet to get ventilation. The fan noise was helpful white noise to cover the seals barking all night. Dinner was great. Bartender Matthew was solid and attentive. Breakfast food was basic, bordering on bad. Skip the coffee, go straight to espresso drinks.

Room, bar, location were great.

Our "city view" was no view. We could not see anything from our window. The stairs completely blocked any view possible. Breakfast was included with our stay. The person who checked us in gave us wrong information we discovered the next day when we went to go for breakfast. They closed it down early so we could not have breakfast. One employee said they decided to shut it down early due to Easter Brunch but did not help us out in any way. Luckily another staff member stepped in and gave us a few breakfast items to hold over and take to our room. That was very much appreciated.

We always have a wonderful time when we come for a stay. The bar staff was wonderful and pleasant. Jen, Oscar and Matthew were amazing.

The staff member who checked us in was fine, however, the next day when we went to the lobby to ask some questions the same staff member acted like we were putting him out. He was not very informative and was, in my opinion, not representing the Delta King very well. Also, the complementary breakfast, from other stays, included items that were hot like eggs and bacon. This time the blueberry muffins were burnt. We did not go for the breakfast the next two days of our stay.

This is a unique opportunity to stay on a boat as your hotel - like a cruise, but you can leave at any time. The boatel is organized very well with a separate gangplank for guests. The staff are very hellpful and there is a restaurant/bar on board. The Delta King is moored on the waterfront in old Sacramento so there are lots of food/drink/shopping options. The room we had featured a/c that was actually too efficient Luckily, we had controls in our cabin to shut it off when it got too cold. For those who like an urban hike, it is well placed to walk to the Capitol building or to the sports stadium.

The cabin was small and two people could not pass by each other. The river the boat is moored on is very noisy with lots of boats passing by playing very loud music. This seems to be a thing in Sacramento. Vehicle access to the boat is challenging and the only real option is to park on the street nearby at a meter and haul your luggage 100 yds to the boat or use their $25 a night valet service.

I loved the historic nature of the entire experience. Great views of Tower Bridge, nice river breezes, friendly staff. Easy walking distance to everything I needed to visit - The Capitol, the Railroad Museum, the California Museum, the Crocker, Sutter's Fort, the Stanford Mansion.

Nothing I would term as "dislike", but I wish the window opened in my room - fresh air would have been nice. The rooms are very small, but that was expected and is mentioned here just to be sure others are aware.

Two things: 1. I made an on line reservation for my son and grandson and provided my Visa card to hold the room. I dropped them off at the Delta King and drove home only to be called by them and informed they could not check in unless I was there. I drove back and needed to show my ID and Visa card in order for them to get a room for which I had already committed to pay. I do not understand why this was necessary and am irritated about the inconvenience. If this is your policy why was it not noted in the payment process? 2. The beds are not level.

We loved our awesome dinner on the deck, the Cajun pasta , and great cocktails including the welcome drink, and the fabulous bartender Aaron.

Since the boat didn’t seem busy at all, it would have been nice to be placed on the river side. We got a 3 rd floor room on the city side under the stairs next to the bar and someone tried to open our door at 2:20 in the am. I didn’t feel safe since anyone could come on the ship at night. I didn’t see any security.

Well if you want to have a stay with a little bit of a difference, the Delta King will definitely offer that. Loved our stay at the hotel. The boat its self was great. Room was in period to the time it was built for the most part so added to the experience. The location is fantastic! Right on the old-styled Front St, which made more of the experience of the area, definitely recommend it. Once you walk off the gangways of the boat, you're right in the thick of it with a fantastic railroad museum right on the doorstep, quite literally! Food was great too though we only had breakfast there as we only stayed for one night (wished we stayed for longer).

Not a complaint from me but to anyone who is of a taller stature (above 6ft 2in), you may find parts of the boat to be a little harder to navigate as you'll need to bend your head. Just about good for me but could be an issue for taller folk.

The boat is so charming, I loved the ambience. All of the staff were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect, walking distance to everything downtown via a pedestrian tunnel as well as to the train station and museums. I loved spending time on the water and the view of the two bridges on either side. On Sunday morning I saw a sea lion swimming up the river as well as tons of swallows and other birds. The free breakfast is by far the best complimentary hotel breakfast I've had, very substantial and table service. (You do need to tip your server but they let you do it by credit card if necessary.) The bathrooms were bigger than I expected and the A/C worked well which was very important in the heatwave. The wifi was good in the rooms and the restaurants but didn't work on the south side of the decks. I was very happy with these accommodations at this price.

The boaters/jetskis going by in the evening, well into the night, and even at 6am played their music EXTREMELY loudly. I don't expect a boat from the 1920s to have excellent soundproofing but this is not a problem I anticipated- I was woken up by aggressively loud music multiple times per night. The riverside view from my room was great but not worth the interrupted sleep. This is not the hotel's fault but something to be aware of- it may be better to book a dockside room if you are noise sensitive.
