First off, the hotel was in a good location because its near union square plaza and very close to shopping malls, restaurants and the trolley station. Its also a walking distance to bus stops and the BART which i used to get to and fro the SF airport. The room was good, clean and tidy. The staff was very nice. They greet guests every single time! I would like to commend the reception staff named Ricky! He was very accommodating, gave good suggestions for restaurants and also went above and beyond when I was asking for some medical supplies I needed during my stay. Will totally recommend this place to my friends.

The hotel is housed in a beautifully preserved historic building. It's an example of a classic Beaux-Arts architecture. While the building itself is quite old, it appears well-maintained and it has some vintage charm. The interior design is both cozy and sophisticated. Fireplace is a nice touch. The location makes it a convenient choice for exploring San Francisco, plenty of shopping, dining, and cultural landmarks around. Staff makes you always feel welcome, Blanca was very helpful. :)

The surrounding area does have a noticeable presence of homeless people, many of whom are generally harmless. However, I might assume that some guests might feel uneasy with the environment. Additionally, while the hotel advertises (free?) parking, it’s important to note that it’s NOT included. Fortunately, there is a convenient paid parking option just around the corner, priced at $80 per day with in-and-out privileges. If you plan to stay longer, it’s worth negotiating; I managed to secure a full week for $300.

The hotel is in a great location and was decked out for the holidays which was a festive perk.

I hate "facility fees" for things like wifi (come on! it's 2022 - it should be free).

Excellent location, genuinely friendly staff, comfy public areas with fireplace in large main lobby, attention to various seasons (e.g. holiday carolers in the lobby with hot cider - yum and fun or yummy and funny either way), free wifi, decent fitness center with various machines, weights, filtered water, electrolyte mixes, and refillable water bottles in guest rooms (filtered water on the first floor), and the restaurant, Tratto, has a simple yet carefully-considered menu, good wine list and creative cocktails. I've stayed here several times and always love it.

I booked a queen room and realized how small they are (I usually book a king) though it was good value and certainly served my weekend work needs.

We were a little hesitant about the location of the hotel but it was fine. It is so central, a short walk to union square and close to a lot of transport links to get around the city. The rooms are nice but a little dark. There is a beautiful bar/restaurant down stairs where you get a free drink on arrival. We had a few drinks here before we went for dinner.

The room was a little dark but perhaps this is because we were facing inwards and not out to the street. You are very close to the tenderloin but it seems to be far away enough that there aren’t any issues.

Stylish, beautiful hotel I would absolutely go back to and recommend. Super comfy bed in our lovely, large king room full of colors. Bathroom was very spacious too. A water (+ ice) dispenser was available on our floor, a great plus indeed. Another sustainable practice I appreciated is that the bed sheets were not changed daily, but just ironed (I would extended it to the bath towels too - i.e. changed only if left on the floor) Last but not least, the staff was very kind and professional.

Nothing concerning the hotel in itself. Only issie: I confirm what I read in other reviews, that in the surrounding area (all around Union Square, down towards Market St - a very good position) there are quite a few weird, poor people - so sad. But we kept our eyes open and didn't feel particularly in danger.

The room was great with a very comfortable mattress. My favorite part was able to refill the water container that was provided in the room. The front desk staff was very friendly.

The iron in room 712 wasn't working, so I wasn't able to iron a shirt. Just wanted to let someone aware of the situation with the iron, so it can be fixed for the next customer.I had ordered breakfast on Saturday, 29Sep, and the meal was AWESOME. I returned again this morning, 30 Sep, for coffee and breakfast. I felt a little interrogated and singled out when I was asked by Tratto staff if I had a voucher in order to get coffee this morning. I noticed no one after me was asked such a question. I felt like i had to show the guy my key card for coffee, which was off putting. I ordered two eggs and bacon alla carte from the menu before my check out, and the food was perfect, and my waiter was very nice. I'm not looking for any refunds as I am not sure when I will be back in San Francisco.

What a pleasant surprise! I had the opportunity to try their Deluxe King for 4 nights and was impressed how big and clean the room was, nicely furnished, two rooms lobby is very cozy and reminds me of social clubs. For the quality and price versus the the large hotel names, I would pick this hotel going forward!

I wish the restaurant attached to it served good pasta ( somewhat bland). You know it’s not up to par when you have to request Parmesan and they give you Kraft looking ground parmesan. Even Honey Honey a block away gives out fresh Parmesan cheese for their limited pasta selection.

Really nice hotel, the front desk was nice and the rooms were pleasant. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The service was really good during our stay. The bathroom and shower was nice as well.

The only thing is the situation around the area. There is a ton of unfortunate situation going on in the tenderloin area and this is in no way a fault of the hotel. The immediate area of the hotel was ok but only a few streets away you feel very unsafe and uncomfortable. We had one instance of feeling very unsafe during night.

It was beautiful, the staff were very nice and informative. First time staying here and I would definitely stay again. The bathroom was awesome, it had a shower and jacuzzi tub. The rest of the hotel was impressive and very glad they had a ATM. I am also very glad they had valet parking because it was my first time in San Francisco and didn’t feel confident enough to know where to park in the area if I had self parked. Pricey but it was worth it.

The area surrounding the hotel was sketchy and made it look bad. Best to take an Uber if one is out at night. The view of the street and building was interesting, I admired the architecture of the buildings around, but the street was something else. Stayed on the 2 floor and seen 2 men across the street smoking weed, my 11 year old nephew seen them too. There was the usual city noises, though the night we stayed, heard some guy yelling around in the middle of the night, sounded kinda scary. But some things can’t be helped so the hotel is not to blame for its surroundings. A microwave would’ve been nice. Glad they had a mini fridge though.
